If the 43mm case size is an issue, there is a smaller version, but it is hard to find as it was stupidly discontinued a few years back. The AW0040 is 38mm with 20mm lugs.
Just got one. The seconds hand does line up with the markers. Also there are luminous dots above each number, like most watches use! No need for glowing digits 😊
Just depends - I sometimes like being able to grab a watch that already has correct time. An automatic is good if you wear it daily or frequently as it will still be running in morning.
@@watchify1775 the issue I think a lot of watch people run into, including me, is having too many automatics/mechanicals and end up with more than 75% of them stopped at any time. I only have five autos, and I already have this problem. I'm often relieved my GShock and Citizen ProMaster Diver are constantly running and aren't more than a few seconds off the actual current time, versus an auto that's probably a minute off if I've kept it going for more than a week. Probably a sign I'm not long for this hobby if I'm getting annoyed with my tiny collection already....
I sold my old automatic Seiko and Orient after 3 years to buy a new Citizen. I couldn't believe how many time I was late to a meeting 5-10 minutes because I kept forgetting to set the time every week.
I've just ordered one now. Bit confused with the naming though. Some shops call it "Chandler" and Amazon called it "Garrison". Can't find any of these on the official citizen website. Would you know what is correct?
Great review, thank you. I am wanting to buy my first Eco-Drive, but am not familiar with them. I can currently get a deal on the AW0110-82E. Is this just an older version of the AW0050-82E? Do you know what the differences are? Thanks!
I wasn't aware of that AW0110. I think I like how it looks more than 050. The 110 case is larger at 44mm. Would be ok if you have a larger wrist or just like large watches
@@watchify1775 Thanks. Yeah, I like the look of it too. I had noticed that it has the 44mm case. Sadly my wrist is not larger - probably a touch smaller than yours. The only redeeming feature might be that from the pictures I don't think the lug-to-lug distance is any greater than the 050, though that won't make the face look any smaller!... I may try it on as a local retailer has it. It's really annoying that they don't do something like this in a 40mm.
I think you mean 6.5 inch\17 cm wrist right? Then your wrist is just a bit smaller than mine - should still be ok - you will probably need to remove 4 links from bracelet at least.
I love the practical markings on this watch but there is just no good reason for this watch to be over 40 millimeters. 43 mm is undeniably “big watch” territory.
I wonder if Citizen just can't make an Eco-Drive caliber at or below 40mm due to technical limitations that go along with having the Eco-Drive module. 🤔
does the crystal scratch easy and where are you going to find a eco or solor watch that has lume on it for a field watch and a day date id love to know if thats out there and if there is a one with a saphire crystal
None of my citizen watches with mineral crystal have had issues with scratches. Then again, I don't wear them every day though. The only one I could find on Citizen Website was a chrono\field watch model CA0727-12E. You would probably need to go Citizen JDM for more options. The ProMaster Land PMD56-2951 is a fine watch but more expensive
@@thomasjarmstrong the promaster land would he good other then it's radio controlled and it's got that extra button so I'd probably hit it by mistake I had a a watch like that before from orient and I was always hitting that button
I not aware of a sapphire crystal that is compatible with this watch. It's not a watch that many people look to mod so Id be surprised if one existed, unless it was for a Seiko mod and just happened to be compatible with this watch.
@@natesportsfanatic4670 I sold mine some time after doing video. I just had too many similar watches. When I did have it, I would wear it occasionally only. I tried it out on nato and canvas strap but ultimately went back to oem bracelet

Killer watch. I put it on a black strap. Best money I ever spent on a watch.
That's an incredible price !

Great watch for the money....doesn't compare to Hamilton but it is close. Eco drive is what sold me.
Just ordered. Thanks for sharing
Cool - no prob !
Thanks for the video! I was interested in this watch and finally bought one on a deal I couldn’t pass up.
Cool - Enjoy!
How do you like them? Are they scratched badly?

Glad you are happy with yours! It is a fine watch, however I sold mine a while back. I would buy it again if it came in a smaller case size.
@@watchify1775 : It's about the size of a G-shock, I like 40+ mm watches!
Great review! 👍
Thanks for this review. Hard to decide if I want this or an automatic field watch...

that drove me nuts too. looks like Garrison is just a line of their field type watches, and chandler is under it
Nice. The new seiko 5 military would of been a good choice. Love the eco drive though.
Yeah - SBSA111 just arrived today :). I'm loving the smaller case size. I'm selling this eco drive but still feel it's a great watch
You may have gotten one with a different clasp, mine has three micro adjusts, that's interesting, good review.
Surprised they would make such a minor change. Maybe they are actually listening to the consumer? Thanks for the comment!
I am a Citizen fan. Ti and "atomic" Citizen watches are a distinct minority of their watch line, although what I focus on, if with a sapphire crysral.
Have a look at the PMD56-2952...

If you don't mind buying grey Market? creation watches sell this watch for £83 GBP or around $118 usd
This looks thick and gorgeous not like the lean looking seiko
How will it fit in my 6.5 cm wrist or 17 mm wrist ? I'am planning to buy the watch but in dilemma because of the size of my wrist.
