I was just cleaning out the attic of an old house I bought and yo my surprise I found a rusty, USA made 1377. It held air and shot perfectly so I tore her down and reblued the metal, cleaned the internals and properly lubed the seals. What a fun gun to shoot and they are proven to last the test of time as mine did after being forgotten in a hot attic for who knows how many years. I used to have one of these many years ago and am certainly happy to get another. ...especially for free. Thanks for sharing your video and keep shooting.

I just bought one today because the rats in my barn are out of control.. I just got 3 nice big ones in 5 minutes, big breeders, this crosman shoots great right out of the box, 6 pumps cause I’m inside… imma go back out in a half hour and see if they’ve settled down again. I’ll make a good dent this weekend with this little crosman pistol.

I have a 30 year old 1377, not much difference in FPS between 6-10 pumps. I get good groupings at 10yds with 6 pumps using 7 gr pellets, the 10 gr pellets are good for pest control.

  • @Bflo23

I want one. There is something satisfying about pumping the gun and not relying on a CO2 cartridge. Sometimes I don't want to shoot 50-100 times at a particular moment. With my CO2 pistols, I never leave a CO2 in the pistol after I go shooting so I feel like I have to shoot a lot of times and use it up. Cons are the pumping and single fire but that is what makes it special. I can shoot my Crosman SNR .357 and Umarex Glock 19 Gen 3 in my house, garage and backyard but these other guns like the Crosman American Classic and the Crosman Vigilante sounds so much louder. Longer rifled barrels will do that. The noise from the pumping is quite loud too especially in a pretty quiet woodsy environment. I guess I could just stick with 3-5 pumps as they are quieter. This American Classic is so interesting though. The modding is something that I would do too. I did that with my Ruger 10/22.

That’s exactly what I was thinking when I was a kid lol. I mean you’re a kid, no money…don’t want to be put behind a barrier of limitation with co2 canisters, and just pump your own air, as weak as you want, and as strong as you want. @ 50$ you get one of the strongest air pistols and@ .177 you get cheap accurate ammo. Although a bit tedious with pumps just for one shot but that one shot is great. Definitely a hard hitting gun capable of taking birds or squirrels and the cheapest best way to get into airguns.
Also how is the snr357 in terms of accuracy? Heard it’s all over the place but contemplating getting one purely for the novelty.

    • @Bflo23
      @Bflo23 2 года назад

@@avylynn4523 I have the Crosman American Classic .177, Crosman SNR 357 and the Umarex Glock 19 Gen 3 (BB). I definitely like the American Classic the most of the 3 and I definitely use it the most. Super accurate! I put a stock on the American Classic and it greatly improved my accuracy. I also put a silencer on it and it is great in reducing the decibels and the high pitch. Added paracord to the stock to make it look cooler. Lot of customization mods with the American Classic which is a big pro. I also highly recommend put some stick on felt from the Velcro on the barrel where the pump hits to reduce the pumping sound hits. I do like the Crosman SNR 357 and it is pretty accurate with the pellets but I definitely would stay within 50 feet range. The Umarex Glock 19 (BB) was really bad at 50 feet for me. All over. Pellets with more velocity is simply going to be more accurate than bb. I can't see myself buying any bb gun in the future after using the Crosman American Classic and the Crosman SNR 357 with the pellets. I have a bunch of guns (real and pellet/bb guns) and I have the most fun with the American Classic.

I sometimes use mine for killing critters I catch in Havahart box traps.
I use 3-5 pumps indoors, 6-10 pumps in the backyard and 15 pumps on raccoons and oppossums. But that's just every now and then. 15 pumps all the time would shorten the life of the seals.
I didn't like the loud clacking noise it made when I pumped it so I put a piece of the wooly side of peel and stick Velcro on the underside of the tube where the pumping handle hits the tube. That made pumping a lot quieter.
I use old books for testing medium.
They are very consistent having no knots or random hard and soft wood. I can count the pages of penetration of various pellets at different pump levels.
Heavy pellets don't always penetrate deeper. There is a sweet spot for each gun. A certain weight and pellet that does best.
    Thanks for the video.

Woodpeckers are valuable little critters. Use 3 pumps so you don't kill them aim for the wing so you don't get penetration.... they'll get the idea quickly they're not wanted... I use the same on squirrels to great effect. They now never dare come by the bird feeder. Also, if you've got woodpeckers feeding on your siding, you very well may have an infestation problem of some kind. The woodpeckers may be doing you a favor

If you were firing RWS Hobby pellets through this pistol it would probably reach 600 fps as they are quite a light pellet (7 grain).

    1. Did you have to adjust elevation and windage on the rare sight?
    2. Does the forearm get wobbly/loose with time of hundreds of pumps?
    3. Do the screws of the grips get loose with time and you need to tighten them sometimes?
I got these three things on mine.
