I like the Crosman 1377 airgun model that has the magnetic bolt that allowed you to shoot B•B's. I want to replace the barrel with a smooth bore barrel for better accuracy and more velocity !
I am 74 years old and have had a long history with these guns. I grew up in the 1950’s and 60’s. My constant companion was an old Daisy BB gun. I have no idea what model it was or where it ended up. But I must have shot millions of BB’s. I bought a 1377 in 1978 as a grown man. I still have it. It’s well worn and in need of a rebuild. I had an older brother that passed away in 2000. He was always into shooting. While going through his things I discovered a Crosman 760 Pumpmaster, a Gamo spring piston .177 rifle and a 1377 made in 1997. It is in perfect condition and still shoots just fine. It has the plastic breech. I recently purchased a new 1377 and have spent way too much money moding it. (Stay away from Buck Rail! 😂😂) The new gun is nowhere near the quality of the older guns. It’s still fun though. They’re great guns.
Nice to hear that airguns had a place in your youth and held that interest for your whole life. There is a simplicity to them that I love. Thanks for sharing.
I happen to have purchased mine in 1984. Same model and box like you have. Still accurate and I added a Red Dot (Crossman) recently. Very accurate at 10 to 25 yards. Great Air Gun.
In the late 60s I was shooting a Daisy model 99, in the early 70s I was shooting a Crossman Power Master 760 pump. Now thats a true classic. Don't make them anymore.
I really enjoyed this show, Crosman history, company development, world around back then...Thank you for making this fantastic presentation! I am 60y, new into air guns and I am doing 5m Airsoft-silencer-gel-target indoor practice. Thinking about doing the same with pallets I need to eliminate "Pufff- tuck!" effect. If I have .177 with the silencer and very heavy pallets would that help? (my home is all about glass sliding doors, mirror walls, cameras..)
Just remember the “Christmas Story” principle….you’ll put an eye out kid. They can and will ricochet everywhere. Use the garage for shooting…..like Nibs over at the Walnut and Steel channel. Thanks for tuning in.
Great vision man.I live in NZ and just brought a 1377 American Classic 177 pellet pistol brand new for 349.00$.Great Gun but a wee bit expensive but was worth every cent. Just Subbed😊
great Presentation! I do want to add one more thing, after the 105/106 they developed the 130/137 and those ran from the early 50's to around 1970 or so
I guess I edited it out. I had a whole timeline printout from Crosman that I went through but it was exhausting. You are correct....that gap was filled with a 130/137 and a 140/147 model. Thought I left that in.....
@@WalnutandSteel Thanks.....I'm going to show the Crosman timeline in the upcoming Crossman video planned for mid November. I'll be sure to mention them then!
Really great video, very interesting history on that model. And man I can tell you really used that old one a LOT, by the color being worn off the barrel and cylinder! That's a nice piece, it's great that you've kept it all these years. I have an old Benjamin HB17, I think I got it around '83 or '84, I was 17 at the time and really enjoyed it for many years. Still have it and it still works fine, but like yours, the color is worn off pretty good and the pump handle is a little sloppy now.
That was glued to me for years in a leather satchel I carried over my shoulder on my bike with a wrist rocket and a milk container of crosman copperhead bb’s and a paper bag of pachinko balls. A regular mercenary, no Budweiser can was safe. Thanks for tuning in.

Thanks for the kind words. There may be some interchangeable parts, but it was a pretty extensive overhaul. When looking to buy parts, it specifies the model they are for which can give you an idea of any parts that are interchangeable.
I have the early one with the sliding breech cover. If the chamber seal fails it will blow the breech cover open when you fire it. . I have to replace the seal in mine.

@@MilsurpGarage That'd be the Weihrauch HW40PCA then (known as the Beeman P3 in the US), which is $180. Short barrel pistols are fine with me, and I will eventually get the HW40 (just for it being Made in Germany and sub $200 lol), but I really do like the longer barrel on the 1377! The 1377 will arrive tomorrow, I am excited to test it.
@@MilsurpGarage well the trigger needed some fixing, and overall this thing is just skewed to a degree I can't get the iron sights to work properly (which seems to be a common theme on the 1377 as of forum discussions, and even with the model I got as a replacement). If they could fix the sights, it would be a nice gun actually. Shoots hole in hole, just some inches to the side with the back sight in extreme position. For that price point, I can get a beat up FWB mod. 65 and that one runs circles around the Crosman in every single aspect you could come up with. The 1377 will stay in the collection as a testament to american made air gun standards though 😄(just kidding...!).
😊 That looked like it has been upgraded or came from the custom shop. What a awesome gift to get from your Dad in the 80's it already has a steel breech and that's the first one I have seen with a magnet pellet guide probe. 🥷🥋🥷
No...the breech is plastic....its an early phase 2 but yeah, that magnet was cool back in the day to stop the BB from just rolling down the barrel. They cancelled the BB recommendation right after this.
