Go off bro. It’s crazy when you say it out loud right? Obviously the laws and constitution say the opposite of this hypocritical situation, but many police and full departments enforce otherwise. At the least they get upset if you ask them to get off your driveway then upset if you won’t leave the sidewalk. On another note, cops get immunity or forgiveness if they incorrectly arrest someone for the wrong law or for a law thag doesn’t exist. They couldn’t possibly be expected to know every law that well! But then for civilians it’s somehow expected that we know every single law. Lack of knowledge is not an excuse for violating a law. Yet they can actually choose to arrest and charge you with non existent or incorrect laws before confirming whether it even exists. That’s literally insane lol by itself cops are experts they should know every law well before anyone else does. Plus, it’s insane that they can even invent and mistake laws and take active action to arrest someone and then figure it out later.. if you don’t know the laws then don’t arrest. Somehow we have to know every law though. I’m not anti-police or an idiot who things defunding the police would ever be viable. However what we do need is increase standards, education, and accountability. You must have Body Cam footage of any arrests or charges made based on actions that happened while you were present. Any interrogation and any cop interaction must have body cam footage with audio. If it’s not on camera and audio then it doesn’t count when it comes to incriminating evidence based off of cop testimony. Obviously other evidence or suspected evidence can’t be recorded ahead of time. But my point is there is NO reason to not record video at all.

The officer lying on the phone with the chief. If you were "getting ready to leave" then why not walk off when the property owner told you to leave? Instead he argued and escalated. Indefensible.
The cop has a badge that he thinks gives him the ability to do anything he wants. He most likely views the constitution as a piece of paper in a museum. Or worse. This view is far from uncommon. In fact, many cops outright resent the fact that we have any rights at all. They feel it interferes with their ability to do what ever they want in the name of the "law". That is whatever they FEEL like the law is. Because police officers in America are not required or even expected to know or understand any of the actual laws they are charged with enforcing. At most cops are expected to be able to name common violations. But they are not expected to understand those violations and are given latitude to interpret the law based on the name of the offense. This is manifest most clearly in the idea of Qualified Immunity. Which predicates that as long as an officer acts reasonably based on their interpretation of the law, then they cannot be held liable for constitutional violations. But does not stipulate that any officer be expected to study or understand the law to gain the protections of qualified immunity. We the people must strive to abolish the undue protections of qualified immunity and require that officers understand the laws they are charged with enforcing.
And then the cop tells the chief that the 80 year old man said do not question them. He did not say that he said get the hell off my property! What an illegal bungle.

His boundary fence is behind the guy when he's on the ground. You can even read the guy's house number on the front fence post behind him. They are on Westwood Avenue Oilton. The car in the driveway is also mostly outside the home's boundary line. When the cop is talking to the lady later on, he walks inside the boundary fence, but that's the first time he enters the property in the video.
The thought was that in court, cops would have to prove they had exigent circumstances. But that works under the false pretenses that courts aren't already working hand in hand with the police. Which they are. So even if you have the time, and money, and evidence, required for court, it wont matter because one hand washes the other and they simply just don't care. But they also get to keep pretending that we have constitutional rights, keeping the populace docile, because they can point to this broke ass system that on paper makes it sound like you're still protected. When you're not. And it's assumed most people wont have the resources to try anyway. It's maddening.
I live in a rural area and I talked to the county surveyors years ago and they told me my property line was in the center of the road (county road). Runs parallel with the road.
Basically if you’re rich your driveway is protected, if you live in a normal house the cops can park in your driveway and do literally whatever they want
Unless you live in the South like I do. They know better than to just park in private driveways, and if they act up, the sheriff; knowing his position requires he obey the public to secure reelection, sends his deputies out to remove them.
Well, yeah. And if it's a rich community and you get a call, your Blue hiney better be there before the last radio wave from dispatch hits your squad car's antenna.
So he KNEW RIGHT AWAY... when he left the city... he left his jurisdiction. Like.. why did he stop patrolling inside the city limits to find the "suspects"?
Right? By that logic, if I commit a crime (allegedly) in his city, he can then fly to Texas an arrest me in my front yard without a warrant... one can only hope to be that lucky
You slammed down an 80 year old war veteran for wanting solar panels in an oil town. The whole thing is disgusting. These cops are the biggest pos....so angry watching this

A citizen can't tell a cop to leave their driveway, but a cop can tell a citizen to leave a public sidewalk.
According to cops.

Typical cop. Power corrupts. Nobody understood human nature better than the Founding Fathers and it's why they wrote the Constitution. Amazing that he thinks a city ordinance is more important than the Constitution.

But they also get to keep pretending that we have constitutional rights, keeping the populace docile, because they can point to this broke ass system that on paper makes it sound like you're still protected.
