    Maybe someone can give me some insight, I’ve had this exact laptop for about 4 years now and when I first got it it was amazing I could run games like R6 siege on literally max settings (ultra) 1080p like 90-100 FPS with very little fluctuation, nowadays i can barely play warzone/modern warfare on the absolute lowest settings, I have to lower my render resolution to at least 75% ontop of all the other settings being the lowest they can be and still get frame drops and lag after about 20-30 mins of playing. Have always had malwarebytes and it’s always been taken care of

    • @uFixTek

      hi, have you ever did a service on the laptop?, if no, then its very clear that the performance issue is because of the over due service. the service should be done every 1-2 years tops. else you will face issues like this, also you will need to double check the HDD status:
      HDSentine
      anything under 90% , you must replace the HDD or ssd.

      @@uFixTek I'm trying it but the solder is only sticking to the tip of the iron. I'm making sure that the spot on the standoff is heated for a few secs and the tip of the iron is cleaned with the flux in solder. But it seems no matter what I try, the solder not leaving the iron and when it does, it doesn't go where I want it to.

    You say NAS drives arent meant for laptops, but I can't find anything about that online; what makes you say that?

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  4 года назад +1

      THERE ARE many different types of drives lets take for eg. WD drives :
      the NAS red drives are good for raid and meant to be powered on 24h, and they have a specific type of oil on the plate motor that is meant to run 24h.
      nad drives are good to work in raid modes 24h, dont take me wrong it will work just fine on your laptop, but no the proper place to place it.
      for the laptop go with black or gold or consumer grade.
      Purple drives are good also for 24h as they are good for recording cameras , but they have a slower reading speed and faster writing speed.
      Blue drives they have build ion ssd catch, they mostly used only for OP systems, not a good reliable place to put backups.
      Black are the best suitable for pc laptops as they meant to turn off and on and they give the best high-performance. but not to have them 24/7 powered on, not that it wont work , it will just bring the life span down a lot.
      if you or anyone cares about they data they have and its very important to them they should spend many hours investigating before buying the correct drive for the job.
      if you got the money go for BLACK or GOLD WD.
      good luck

    Is it a problem if I have not cleaned the sides of the cpu and just cleaned the top surface? Will it have effect on making better contact with the heatsink? will cleaning the sides of cpu and gpu assure me to have better temperatures than before?
    I have bended the x clamps and used THERMAL GRIZZLY KRYONAUT BUT temps are not getting better.
    P.S: There is a bit of a gap between the heatsink and the fan and i think not all the air is passing through heatsink, Should i use aluminium tape to close the gap?

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  4 года назад +1

      It will be a good idea to use a aluminum tape to redirect the air. and regarding the paste no you dont need to clean the pcb of the gpu/cpu as long as you clean the crystal dye you fine, i would highly recommend you to add a copper shim and apply on both side the paste. you will definitely see a difference.

    Hi Sr, Thanks a lot for your video, i can see that you didn't use typical paste for the CPU and GPU, can you tell me please what kind of paste did you used for it? and why there is black electrical type around the CPU and the GPU? thanks for your answer.

    • @uFixTek

      thats not a thermal paste its a Liquid metal :
      amzn.to/35wrdBY
      the Liquid metal is the best and permanent "paste", there is nothing better than Liquid metal, the only downside is that its electrically conductive, thats why the electric tape is there to make sure there is no shortage.
      but if you dont want to use LM you can use the paste version not as good as Lm but is the next best thing:
      amzn.to/2Szha9X
      this one is a paste and lasts about 4years depending usage, and none conductive, but i would recommend LM.
      good luck

      @@uFixTek Thanks a lot, I think that I Will use LM, just another question, do you leave the black type inside the pc? You put It around the cpu and gpu then the LM and close the laptop, is right my comment?

    I don’t know if u still read comments on old videos but I would like to know how can I remove the power battery connection without the tool u used. I’m struggling quite a lot and it’s not working is there any object that u know of that u could do the same with or is it just this tool?

      :) no my friend its you that thinks that i have place it in a wrong side, there is no way you can place that copper tape in a wrong position without making a short, take a picture of the where it was and then a picture when i place it at the end and you will see.

    I don't think u solve the problem of overheating... I have the same problem too. and I did the same thing too.. If it's not a hardware problem its a software problem..

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  2 года назад

      i been doing this for a long time and the issue is not software, but sure you could under clock that. but if you have done LM and you didn't get the right temps, then you may have an unbalanced heatsink, we do get this situation on alienware laptops and LM is not the solution because its really thin, i would suggest you to place a thick paste (not arctic mx5) the thick paste good for unbalanced heatsink is the Arctic Silver 5 : amzn.to/3rKSyNP

      for the love of god nothing will happen its not going to leave a cotton hair. we do this on daily bases and for years on and on personal LVL and client zero damage/ accidents. and you will get the same results with the black q-tip. but for the love of god dont worry , when you buy the LM it will include the black q-tip so you can use it and sleep well at night :P.
