hey chaz! I have looked around on the internet, and you seem to be the only one with vaicom tutorials, so I figured I would ask you my vaicom periodically lists the current module, callsign, mission, and closest atc in the log the problem is that every time it does this it interrupts any voice commands I was inputting, meaning I can’t make long voice commands and have to wait for it to update and then quickly say my command hoping I don’t get cut off again I have spent multiple full days of my weekend searching everywhere and emailing support to help me but have found nothing and gotten no answers do you know how I can fix this?
Vaicom is really amazing in the F14, can’t recommend it enough. Thank you so much for this video! Just what I needed with exactly the addons that I use lol
Yeah CASE 3 with ACLS in the Tomcat is pretty straight forward. It's really aircraft management and timing. Just a few more switches to flip than the Hornet. At the moment, the Hornet does not have ACLS, but we should see that eventually implemented.
ACLS is not fully implemented yet for the Supercarrier (definitely not the Hornet, yet). For some reason I think Tomcat ACLS flys a little better on the non-Supercarrier.
@@chazflyz yeah, I could have worded that better. I never use auto throttle in either plane, but almost 100% of the time I get the Eased Guns In Wire LSO grade. Never used to get it. I tried a few traps in the Hornet and Tomcat where I didn't touch the throttle after ball call, and I still got EGIW
Question? I purchased Viacom Pro years ago and gave up on it since I fly mostly in multiplayer and I found there were a number of conflicts. Do you use it in multiplayer and if so do you make changes to the stock programming?
As DCS updates, VAICOM will update and likely get some conflicts. I do use it in multiplayer. On the PTT tab, select MULTI. It really comes down to how you want to map your controller. Other things to take into consideration are the aircraft/helicopter you are flying and if you want to map all of the radios. Some aircraft have 3 radios. But will you really use all 3?.... If you talk to Discord and have a PTT mapping, that may conflict.
is it not easier to get jester to set up all the coms and Tacan? bla bla :)). Not meaning this as a smart ass but i really want to know how this in reality works. So great Video
Sure you could do that. But if I'm not mistaken, you can instruct Jester to change only the AN/ARC-182 radio with VAICOM. As for TACAN, you would say something like "TACAN Tune Lincoln"... "TACAN Tune Washington "
I've seen that before. What version is your VoiceAttack? 1.8.7 is the latest. Is VAICOM updated? 2.5.24.0 is the latest. Last summer I had some issues so I just "reset" VAICOM. Far right tab "RESET". Select Lua code and press the Master Zero button. Shut down VoiceAttack and start it back up. Your settings should still be there. Go into DCS and see if that works. If not, you may need to reset a few more things like Settings and/or Profile.

It's really tough to pinpoint the issue. VAICOM is a complex script. If you're on Discord, we could meet up and go over settings.
Chazflyz, you're the man 👍. Thank you very much for sharing all these excellent training videos for Viacom /Voice Attack in DCS .
im so glad i found your channel, despite having so many that i follow, you have a special way to make it easy for muscle memory, tx , subscribed
I dont have Viacom but the tutorial is much appreciated! I been trying to understanding the whole marshaling and approach aspect for weeks. thanks!

Yeah I primarily use VAICOM to manage Jester. Adding LANTIRN control is huge!
Man, I was just thinking that I was getting the Case 1 recovery down and wanted to see a tutorial for a case 3 and here you are!
I find Case III simpler than Case I, strangely. Less visibility, gotta follow the needles, but there's no low speed turns.
@@krostouin That seems to be the case, some more switch flipping but it seems as though the plane lands itself for the most part

Man that was awesome!
Awesome video mate, just a quick question - Do you need to activate DLC for an ACLS landing? Does the ACLS use it? Cheers, Damian
No need to activate it for an ACLS approach.
wow looked professional now my turn..
Man, even auto throttle gets EGIW. I've gotten it hands off throttle in both the Hornet and Tomcat.

im having this problem having the altimeter set correctly and then at 6000ft when i say established the tower will say im 6500ft, thats a bug right?
hi, if my marshal radial is 167 alright how can I check the path to the marshal? I didn't understand this

I'm having problems with my Vaicom Pro...It keeps flashing the comms menu, it hears my commands but wont execute. Any suggestions?

Nice thumbnail!
After some while with acls, I could say tomcat’s acls is not very reliable, and should better switch back to old manual approach
Yeah it's a known issue. Hoepfully we see a fix in the future.
Can you redo case3 with newer f14 flight model update and clear day sky ?
You want to see a case 3 in clear weather or case 1?
