@Texasfishingfamily thanks. I saw some carp jumping last night and kind of made me think about going. I’d love to get on some catfish. We might do that coming up, but we don’t have near the size out here on our lakes that they get on Texoma.

Thanks for the good videos and tips after watching some of your videos dead sticking, it’s fun and amazing how the fish hit the bait sitting still, it’s working great here in TN

@redboatdave that’s great to hear it’s working in TN. Are you on any stripers there or only Hybrid Bass and White Bass?

What is your favorite lake for hybrid all year in OK? Just don’t have much time to fish so want to narrow down to 1 lake for couple day. Thanks in advance

In western OK, Fort Cobb and Canton Lake. You can find live shad easy and it’s got a healthy population of hybrid bass. They also have white bass for bonus fish. Canton has nice striper too.

    What was the water temp?
We were in 57 degrees Thursday and did not get touched on a traditional deadstick rod.
We tried a couple spots that we've pounded the Hybrids on the last couple trips, but no one was home.
We hit the water at 11am, nothing but catfish until we went exploring.
Pattern has been the 20' contour on my Garmin GPS. It seems to be the magic line on both lakes i fish for Hybrids.
Water is down a little so I was .4 trolling motor the deep side of 20' line.
I was headed to a small tit in the 20' line, which normally indicates a little ridge leading out into deeper water. But i seen a couple marks and spot locked.
5 minutes on the spot and I flipped on the splasher! I was bowed up in 2 minutes!
We moved again toward the tit and found a spot with more marks and i limited out (5 Hybrids in Texas) real fast. I had my dad and two friends. They each added one to the box. My dad was not able to catch a legal Hybrid.
We moved to the tit and it went crazy for the next hour and a half.
My dad did catch the biggest fish of the day. We released a Blue Catfish that was in the low 30". I didn't measure it before i released it.
We could have limited outbut when we are on a good bite i alway hold back a spot or two in the cooler incase someone has a deep hook and we have a bleeder!
Fortunately we didn't have any bleeders today but we had a blast and a full box!

We were out yesterday and the fish were moving around a lot. Slabbing was working well for us in the upper 50s to about 48ish but it’s swung more into deadstick now.

    • @BooneBoys
      @BooneBoys  8 месяцев назад

Water temp is 52 or so. Normally it’s 45 now. I don’t think the small baits have moved out of shallow yet keeping a lot of fish spread out still. We need a couple of weeks of cold winter and I think things will start being incredible. We catch deadstick in 60 degree sometimes. Not the best but it can start then.

They starting to show up finally on Lake Norman after many years. A few of the South Carolina lakes have some nice fish. DNR doesn’t really care much about stocking our lakes in NC like they should.
