PERE MARQUETTE 1225 RETURNS North Pole Express 2023

After a much needed and major overhaul of the running gear and drivetrain, Pere Marquette 1225 returned in triumphant fashion for the annual operation of the 2023 North Pole Express. The locomotive looks fantastic and sounds even better with a much sharper exhaust, quiet valve gear and more efficient lubrication systems.
The trains were packed and despite the dreary weather we set out to make the most of it, catching the train in various locations outside of Owosso and Carland and in small towns such as Bannister and Ashley.
Good to see the old girl back out doing what she does best, and hats off to everyone involved for getting her back into tip-top shape! 2024 is going to be a big year for this locomotive I am sure of it!
