- On November 18, 2023, Pere Marquette 1225 finally made its long awaited return after 2 years of extensive wheel overhaul. With this, it opens many doors for more trips other than Owosso - Ashley. Here in this video, we watch the engine wake up, go through its day, and be put away for the night. Enjoy!
1225 sound like an absolute beast! so happy it got its running gear overhauled. Even though i had fond memories of hearing it "skip a heartbeat".
Pere Marquette 1225 (Built by Lima Locomotive Works in 1941) the real Polar Express steam locomotive is back in operation again.
The shot starting at 5:40. AMAZING!! Thats what its all about! beautiful! excellent job
Thank you so much!!!
Aha, so that was you by the fence. Nice video of the berk!
Oh shoot! If I knew you were there I would’ve properly introduced myself, I’m sure we’ll run into each other again for one of the berks! Thanks for watching!
She is back, ladies and gentlemen.
Excellent footage! It's good to see her back in steam. You can tell that they did some serious work on her. I've never heard her exhaust sound so smooth. It's always been slightly off-beat.
Thank you! Not only that, but it was much louder since 2021
❤❤❤
PM #1225 has returned. She's back under her own power and steam after 2 years of being down for mechanical repair work. She's now really nice.
Magnificent!
My God! What a Beautiful! Living! Breathing Lady! What a Voice!! I want to Cry. She Brings Out such Emotions. I Hope to Have The Honor of Meeting her someday.
Wonderful to see 1225 back in such good shape!! Fantastic job to the SRI crew, and a beautifully produced video… thanks very much for sharing!! 🔥
Thank you so much! Was an honor to have been here to see it again
Now this polar express supposed to look like not bad ❤🎉
Awesome video! Beautiful cinematography. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!
Fantastic video as always man! I can’t wait till I get to chase it next weekend. 1225 sounds great after the work.
Thanks Christian!!! It sounds like thirty times louder than last time
Beautiful footage!!!
Thank you!
Outstanding!!! Great!!! Imagine spinning a running steam engine like a spoon on the table!!
Thank you!!
The real Polar Express has returned! Love it
Awesome behind the scenes action!
Thanks man! Happy you liked it!
one of my favorite steam locomotives 🤍
Magnificent catches of the steam locomotive coming by and pass, i like it 5 stars, keep up the great work, my friend, i subbed your channel, Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
Thank you so much for watching!!
@@whistle.productions my pleasure, mate.
@@whistle.productions enjoy my videos of the Portuguese trains.
Gotta buy a model of this. A classic design!
With double 1225 signs on top and double lights
The Polar Express is back on the rails!
I have an American Flyer "S" gauge model of the Berkshire type locomotive with Polar Express sound and such. It pulls the "stock" Polar Express consist with added Bagage & Dining cars, around and through our Christmas Village each December and January. I also have the American Flyer model with the 1225 Pere Marquette markings . Being somewhat newer and not Polar Express themed, it has traditional radio talk and features a remote control coupler that the Polar Express model doesn't have. I have a set of nice old heavyweight cars for the 1225 to pull. It looks quite nice. They are two of my favorite American Flyer locomotives.
SHE HAS AWOKEN FOR CHRISTMAS
The Polar Express.
Can anybody tell me what "prep" work goes into putting her up for the night (between runs), and then again long-term? It might make a cool short video.
WOW I'm going to paint it
The real life Polar Express is finally back!
My Favorite Locomotive of all time!
PM 1225 is back! But the only problem is that now she has a dual beam headlamp. What was wrong with a single beam headlamp?
Incandescent Bulbs are not allowed by FRA requirement as they apparently contribute to global warming
While SRI has a supply of single beam bulbs they’re becoming harder to find and they want to extend that supply as much as possible so the dual beam headlamp will be easier to use plus it provides better illumination when they’re running at night like they do for the North Pole Express
Amazing video! I absolutely loved it! Where is the location for the shot at 8:17?
Thank you! If I remember correctly, it was E Maple Rapids Rd
Why no one recorded the train returning to Owosso🙄
I think cause the diesel leads
How does it make the chugging sound even tho it is completely still
Do you know when 1225 departed ashley?
I wish that the movie had either maintained the original whistle sound or that they swapped out the whistle for the one the movie used. It just feels wrong. I don’t associate that whistle with The Polar Express
Hi how can or where can find the 1225 in Ohio or whats state of usa
Am form mexico
It’s in Owosso, Michigan. Check the Steam Railroading Institute website to see the dates of when they’re operating
Does it still pull out of the work shop at 5am?
Around 7 is when they start moving out
@@whistle.productionsAwesome Thanks! earlier than 7 or just around?
@@TrainTableRailroad Probably be there earlier than 7 just to be on the safe side
Also where is 9:00 at?
@@whistle.productions awesome thanks!
Reunite the twin Berkshire locomotives 765 and 1225
As well as #CO2716!
I could be wrong but she doesn’t appear to be going very fast im guessing this is because its her first run after repairs?
It's because of the last time it ran, they nearly hit some idiot at Carland Elevator. It ripped her jacket off.
Ahh ok
Where’s 9:00 at?
the curve in elsie
@@whistle.productions is there anything around it to judge off of like a restaurant or something?
*Polar Express
They did it to the Marquette too? Why? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE DUAL HEADLAMP, WHY CAN'T YA USE ONE AND CALL IT GOOD?! They did it to the 4014, and with this emgine they may as well have given her a damn mars light just like 765.
they also did it on ussc 148
the twin headlamp is for safety purposes and also for better viewing at night, thats why most excursion engines have the dual beam headlights. It also conserves use on single beam headlights.
@@ntytp AAAAHHHH. I didn't know that, I thought they did it just because it looked cool.
