Yes Verizon is the best and most reliable . AT & T is definitely giving them a fight . Verizon has the best coverage and AT & T has the fastest speeds from my experience and everywhere I've been . I use them both and they are both great ! Great job again . Thank you !
I was presented by a friend on here to a customer agent who has the choice to help me out with my issues, i know people who have not endeavored Tony Miles out, will say he's a stunt, yet he isn't, I have certainty he will really be of worthy help to you with your network provider issues.

Everytime i see notifications about ETA PRIME: "oh boy it's a new ETA video but it's for the X-thingy you'll never even think to buy" who cares, it's a new ETA PRIME video...
How can I get the Verizon stream tv to reset and go back to original android stock launcher/interface? Verizon disabled the option to allow a side loaded launcher as default and settings are missing lots of options even sounds is not there. Do you know if I can “toothpick hard reset” and get this “behaving” like a regular android box please?
I can boot into Android TV on my Pi4 8Gb and I am more than happy with it, the Pi4 is so versatile for different OS's that I don't need any more devices for TV
I actually setup Plex on my Xeon server and it works really well. It's actually as simple as to setup a small home network.Only thing that people may struggle with is to port forward but the new routers made it real simple so that even a novice can port forward.
This launcher could be a promising alternative to standard Android TV (leanback) launcher because it keeps it's store separate. Wish you could show more of its workings.
Excited for the new processor and all the name brands that’ll be using it. For one mecool committed 2 new devices etc. cant wait to try specific ones out
I recently got one of these (for free) and I set it up, skipped Verizon sign in because I don't need Verizon services on it, and side loaded stuff for my own use. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't connect my 4 TB external HDD (NTFS formatted) though. It seems like the USB port doesn't provide enough power. My flash drive (NTFS formatted) works fine though. I'm considering getting a special cable for the HDD that allows me to plug it into another source for extra power as I really like this Android TV box. As a person who typically has always liked Google's design (or similar designs), Verizon's design is pretty nice and not changed too much. Edit: rewired some stuff and HDD works fine now
I got the first generation one. Do you know if these could be factory reset (or toothpick hard reset) to the original Android stock interface/launcher? Verizon even disabled some options in settings. I can’t have a side loaded launcher picked as default instead of their home launcher.

Im getting this for free when I get FiOS hooked up soon, im excited. Looks nicer than the prior stream TV box/remote. I have a ton of the $40 fireTV sticks and HATE EVERY ONE OF THEM!! Slower than a snail, can’t wait to toss them all. And $70 is a lot cheaper than a $150 Apple TV, plus you’re getting a nice remote with a number pad. Now if only Verizon had an internet based TV service like the other providers.
What is the best CPS 1,2,3 Android app? I would not mind making this a mini fighters box.Happy Holidays ETA appreciate you and your content for the past few years HUGE thanks!
hmmm does that version of android tv support play next from plex on the home screen? i saw Play Next and I was curious what gets populated there... I know on the new Chromecast with GoogleTV there isnt any plex integration like that and have to open the app to see whats up next and such.
I really wish theyd give us an Android Tv or Google Tv with at least 6gb Ram and 128gb ssd. Not those fake android tv boxes that just have the android os sans the TV UI but the actual Android/Google TV.
Does the USB Type-C input support a Type-C hub with passthrough power? If so, it would be interesting if it's at USB 3.0 or 2.0 speeds. I'm asking this with Gigabit Ethernet expansion in mind, though I understand that the Type-A port will probably suffice if not.
@@ETAPRIME What makes you prefer Chromecast? Is it just the lower price, or something else? Even at the higher price, this Verizon unit is a lot more attractive to me with its more fully featured remote and built in USB port. I can't stand the Chromecast remote - it's much too slippery for me (it's popped out of my hand on a number of occasions) and the volume buttons are more difficult to use.
As @Craig 2web just asked, can you elaborate on why you prefer the new Chromecast over this? The price? I'm curious if the S905x4 will end up being better in the long run with better performance.
I think you could definitely take game streaming to your standard test on a streaming box! I'll assume that you get the stadia app on this device and at the moment you'll get cyberpunk for like 50 bucks with a 10 bucks discount. And this game could definitely be a benchmark for the next years. ;) And since you have that Game Pass Ultimate subscription running, it would definitely be great to test like Subnautica on a device like this. Thanks for all your videos and opinions on the devices and have a nice weekend!
I know it's off topic but I would like to see more Batocera coverage. Took to using it after watching some of your work. They have now updated to 5.29 in stable. I believe they added RPCS3 and CEMU.
It took a little bit of effort to locate this on their website. One thing it prominently displays at the bottom of its page is the Prop 65 warning ⚠ for causing cancer and reproductive harm!!
So have you worked with an AV1/OPUS based content (either in webm or mkv container format)? I've been messing around with various encoders and am currently using rav1e. More than a year ago it'd take weeks to encode something in 1080p. Now it takes a few days... but I'm using hand-me-down desktop systems without any powerful GPU assist. Playback is fine... although I haven't been doing anything above 1080p as I don't have any displays that do higher resolutions and of course I don't currently have any hardware that has AV1 specific optimizations such as the new CPU you mentioned in this review. Currently I'm not aware of any media content providers using AV1... so the bulk of AV1 content I've been using I've encoded myself. I envision that once more hardware is available with AV1 assist and it becomes more common place, that content providers will start offering it as an option... and encoding will become considerably more efficient as will playback. At that point hopefully Plex (or Jellyfin) clients will support native playback (without transcoding) of AV1 content and then I can switch to it for the primary storage format for all of my video content... saving SO MUCH disk space and avoiding the potential for royalty charges at any position within the overall global media ecosystem. I remember when I first started with AV1 encoding and rather than being in FPS, it was MPF (minutes per frame) and later SPF (seconds per frame). Wondering how well it will work with hardware assist. Are there any encoders available that can be run on your review device and if so, what is the SPF or does it improve so much that it is FPS and somewhat comparable to say, H265 or H264 encoding?
Nah, nothing with Verizon branding is going anywhere NEAR my system! Besides, I can get Android TV on the new Chromecast for $50, and it does everything I need it to do. Not to mention that my primary TV is a Sony X900H, which already has Android TV built in!
Please, do you know of this box (or the Verizon first generation stream tv- the one I have) can go back to original android stock interface/launcher? I wonder if I can “tooth pick hard reset “ this box if it would go back looking like a normal Android box? Thank you.

Has there been anything faster released in the same price range? Thanks!
Might sound like a silly question but does this come with or can you install and run the Verizon FiOS TV app? I tried to install it from the play store on a Tivo Stream 4k and got a notification that it won't install. Will it on this?

The bonus to the x4 chip over the x3 is that it handles 4k 120MBs NP and it has AV1 playback unlike the x3 chip

Hi eta Prime. What exact model screen is this? I can tell it is a Benq.
These tv boxes are the best
Do like the design of the box.
32-bit/2GB RAM means no Dolphin EMU & the Verizon branding kills it for me, not that I'd give them any of my money to begin with.
