    In the summertime we love to end our Lancaster day getting ice cream. There are so many wonderful dairies in the area and we are always finding a new place for ice cream. We love Lapp Valley Farms, Fox Meadows Creamery, Pine View Dairy, and Down on the Farm Creamery. There is nothing like homemade ice cream made with milk from the cows on the farm.
    We also enjoy having chicken barbecue for lunch at one of the local farm markets.

    You know you are our Lancaster expert! Yes, we agree that the pretzels at the Countryside Road Stand are the best. Definitely think Sight and Sound should be in your one day in Lancaster. Like how you ended your day at the farm with smores. You definitely made the one day in Lancaster jam packed. Everything looked like so much fun. You did a wonderful job putting this together. I know you spend lots of time planning and editing your videos. It shows in the end product. Thanks for sharing! Loved it!

      Aww thank you! Always appreciate your encouragement 😊👍 I love animals and fields of crops so I’m always down for visiting a farm! It was crazy jam packed but if I only had one day, that’s what I’d have to do. It’s like a marathon 🤩😊😂 Hope we can hang together in Lancaster someday soon 🤗

    Great video featuring many of our favorite places to visit. Our family has been vacationing in Lancaster County for nearly 50 years! We love staying at their sister motel Traveler's Rest located near Kitchen Kettle. Their complimentary breakfast is available from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. and a 2 hour tour is available throughout your stay. Jordon Smucker is the best motel manager in the hospitality business! Looking forward to another family trip this September including our 20 month old grandson visiting for the first time.

      I LOVE how you have made Lancaster such a special place for your family! 🥰🥰 what amazing memories you have helped make!! Thanks for the info on Traveler’s Rest and their breakfast. Do they serve hot food? And is Jordan Smucker part of the Bird-in-Hand Corporation original Smucker family? I imagine so 😊. Thanks for sharing!!

    Busy Bees was rated the number one place for soft pretzel in Lancaster County. I agree 100%. Busy Bees are on the west side of Intercourse on route 340. About 1/4 mile on the south side of the road.

    Loved this .. thank you! Don’t forget to try Orchard Inn on one of your stays. I also always stop at Miller’s Natural Foods. Their nuts and maple syrup are half price of what we have to pay here at home. I just love Bird in Hand. I love the quaintness of it and the whole farming atmosphere. I’m going there the first week end in November for the local Christmas Open House at some shops in the area.

    We would love to spend the day with you but I don't think we could keep up. That was one full day the only thing I would change is to go to Shady Maple for breakfast. You did a great job editing this. Thank you for bringing back great memories.🚐🙂😊

    • @ElleLiving
      @ElleLiving  10 месяцев назад +1

      I would love to do Shady Maple for breakfast with you all someday!! Typically I like to eat light in the morning to save up for a bigger meal later, especially in Lancaster. If I ate Shady Maple for breakfast I would have to go back to the Inn lawn chairs and take a nap 😴 😆
      And you are right this is a crazy full day! But hypothetically if I only had one day (which I hope never actually happens 🤣) then I would absolutely cram as much in as possible! 😎🤩😝

    we think alike Dani ! except for the farm tours, everything on your list is also on our list. during the summer months, a few times a week, there is a pretzel truck outside of Bird in hand bakery on Gibbons. I would rank them second behind country roadside. when those two places not available, Immergut is a good choice. thanks for the heads up on harvest cafe. passed it a thousand times but never went in. gonna check it out next trip. best wishes as always. jimmy and laurie.

    I love the Harvest Cafe. And I almost always get the chicken salad sandwich. It is the best chicken salad I’ve ever eaten. We’ve never been to Dienner’s so we’ll have to check it out soon. My husband and I really enjoy your videos. Even though we visit the Lancaster area frequently, you’ve shown us places we’ve never visited. I’m guessing you’re not a quilter but I’d love to see a tour of all the quilt shops in the area. I’ve probably been to most of them.

      Lol 😂 how did you know I wasn’t a quilter??!! That really made me laugh, mainly bc of how I view myself, and how I’m really not good at sitting still unless I’m watching a movie or sleeping 🤣. Hi Ellie, what a wonderful and informative video! My boyfriend and I plan to have a day trip to Lancaster, we are a tourist from Singapore, so we do not drive, what are your recommendations for transport to tour around the place that you've mentioned in the video?

    • @ElleLiving
      @ElleLiving  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi there 😄 how exciting for you 2 to be coming to Lancaster from so far away! To best answer your question I have a couple of questions for you :)
      First, how are you arriving in Lancaster ? Are you flying into Philadelphia or Harrisburg or arriving another way?
      Another question is budget. A great idea for someone who doesn’t drive is to stay somewhere where you can walk to many places. So the towns of Bird-in-Hand and also Intercourse have some great lodging and shopping and markets and food all within walking distance.
      But you can’t walk to all these places so then I would say Uber or Lyft but I need to check on that. There are drivers in Lancaster who drive the Amish around as a side job. I can ask about them and get back to you. 😉👍. I’ll try to get you some more info :)

    • @ElleLiving
      @ElleLiving  Месяц назад +1

      Lancaster is definitely much more than Amish offerings. It is an amazing place with so many long standing family owned businesses- both with Amish or Mennonite backgrounds or “English” history. But in this video, there is about 4+ hours with my Amish favorites/friends and then another 2+ total time of driving around beautiful Amish country from place to place. So I wouldn’t say 90% - it’s pretty split at 50/50. Which is an about how it really is in Lancaster County. Sooooo much to do!
