I was at the concert as sound technician the who's sound guy tried to bring pinos bass up but Pete being nearly totally deaf was complaining his guitar was sounding quite low through the foh pa and monitors so what we were hearing was petes guitar louder than virtually rest of the band
I was there. I was there too in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s and hopefully the 20s. Mod is a way of life. It's an attitude. It's inherently a London thing. Who the fuck would have believed it would be worldwide and going strong. I love it when I meet a Who fan from another country or continent, there's an instant bond. It's the fucking dogs bollocks!

The reason why the bass sounds quiet is because The Ox used a special technique on his amp that made the sound 4 x louder than a standard bass, since each individual string was connected and together made a thunder-like sound.
You've gotta let Pino's bass breathe a little bit. After listening to Entwistle in this band, I always expect heavy ass basslines but man they mixed it different here

That was something I always thought was cool about John Entwistle playing bass live was it sounded like it had distortion on it. Here's it's definitely not mixed as a solo instrument, which for most bands may have been the right call, but certainly not for The Who

To prevent the drums bleeding into the other mics. The volume on stage is actually fairly low on modern Who gigs, to save Pete from losing the little hearing he has left
All drummers are dangerous and need to be contained for the safety of everyone on stage and in the audience. There hasn't been a drummer accident in many years because most bands take the right precautions.
