I can't believe roger stills sings this in the original key ,
Just a bad ass
He IS ! Knocked down Pete with one punch even though Pete is like a foot taller.
Daltry IS the tough Cockney kid ALL other musicians tried to be.
Hammersmith Hospital, East Acton, west London, England, IS NOT what ya call a POSH address
It's amazing how well his voice has held up. I was lucky enough to see them perform a few years back, they sang Love Reign O'er me...and good god! It was just incredible
I cant believe pete got away with child molestation.
@@edwardwhite221 You may want to actually look into that one, chief.
And don't forget the harmonica!
Ringo's son on the drums. Legend
Dustin Graham didn't know that. That's awesome.
and he's a lefty like his dad
Maui Wowie Ringo's playing was well adapted towards The Beatles. John Bonham would've been brilliant, but then The Beatles wouldn't have been the same.
Well, Bonham can't play the drums half as well as Peart, so what's your point? Imagine Led Zeppelin with Neal Peart. In other words, a drummer's ability means virtually nothing, unless the drumming style fits the band. Ringo's drumming style fit The Beatles perfectly. Any other drummer would have changed the dynamics of the band and who knows if we would have the same kinds of songs as we eventually did without Ringo's unique style of drumming that inspired other great drummers both of his era and into the future.
Zakk Starkey
There's good rock music DNA filling in Moon's drums here.
the song is shit tho

Ringo son yes
@@theomaddison8689 so shit that youre listening to it
Pino Palladino is filling John Entwistle's shoe's properly, not only from a playing standpoint but from a standing & not moving from his spot!
I’ve seen them in the Who Hits 50 tour. Too bad you can’t hear him live.
They need to turn him up.
xD. But Pino is still a great bassist
Yeah I recognized him from John Mayer trio.
Both John and Pino are great bass players. HOWEVER, John's performance on the Shepperton video is hilarious. He is the standing there, probably thinking 'what the f#$% are these guys doing' - well that is the look on his face.
Grandissimi The Who. .
Fucking Classic
Nice username
A classic, but lame.
Can see why you have the name "little".
steve little
how can this be lame
steve little how the hell is this lame
When old men absolutely rock.
King crimson too.
So glad they didn't die before this stage of life!
I’m surprised Daltry has even got a voice given the level he’s sang at for 50 + years. We Brits know how to produce legendary bands and music, we should be proud I know I am ♥️
It's amazing to think that Starkey was the baby on stage, and he was 50 at the time.
I agree with you. 95% of my favourite bands are British. Thank you, from Canada.
Yep,the Brits definately invented and produced the best rock and pop music, without a doubt,,!!
This Voice??? ....Stopp it.... would be better.... remembering 50 year s ago.....
@@max5853 stfu if you try to sing all the glass nearby shatters
Damn right
One of the greatest rock anthems of all time - I’ve been singing (Joining in) it for decades (I’m 79 next week!). Seen them live so many times and they never disappoint.
Happy you're 79 and still rocking ! My dad's 80 and still rocking as well still the coolest guy ever met
Happy 82!
I'm 68 and still listening to a lot of tunes online. I like watching concerts whenever they're professionally done. People are screaming way too loud when the concerts are recorded using phones...
At any rate, The Who have always been my favorite Rock & Roll Band. And if it wasn't for Pete Townshed, I would have never kept playing guitar as I got older...
So with that said, Thank You Pete...
even their voices are aged and shot there is still energy in this.
nathan smith I’ve never heard a rock band this monstrous and powerful and tight it’s actually unbelievable at 70? This is not normal 😂
@@Stereostupid well there's only two 70 yos there.
Ha! Far from shot!
Rob Lucas Just seen these at Wembley and can vouch for that 😂 74 years old Pete Townshend still smashing it!
Not shot
Few songs stand the test of time... this still sends chills up my spine...
This is one of the most beautiful song in the music history...
beautiful song
I don't know, The Song Is Over beats it
@@georgedoty-williams2085 shut up
@@georgedoty-williams2085 I respect your opinion but out of all the Who’s Next tracks, that’s the one you picked?
Incredible from Pete and Roger. Some 70 years old here, unbelievable.
No one can be Moon
ringo's son playing the drums fills my heart
He's an amazing drummer
caterxnn Humble kid too....
Much better drummer than Ringo!

I'm sure Keith is looking down from the heavens and is proud his group is still up and running
Michael Dale heaven??? Lol
Also John
Hi Michael I'm sure both he and Ringo are proud of Zak! He's great and they could not have found a better replacement for Keith...
Dude there is thunder 'cause he is still throwing cherry bombs from up there
@Class he had throat cancer and can't sing anymore.
That iconic intro that precedes Roger’s awesome vocals still makes the hairs on the back of the neck stand up- forever legendary!
Beattles, Led Zeppelin, Stones and the Who... The Pantheon of Bands!
You forget about Black Sabbath son
You forget Pink Floyd
Queen...
The Kinks
What about Moderatto 8)
thank you "WHO" for making my life more beautiful
This clip is beautiful. What a cool take on the violin portion too.
At the end of the song on the studio recording. The part that gets faster and faster as it ends.
***** It's in the original song. In this clip they used a harmonica instead.
Liam Douglass
What a song! And what an absolutely great performance by the whole band! *It's stunning.* I really dunno what to say after that. Except *Long live The Who!*
0:32 ... where Pete is listening to his intro and thinking "I wrote this."
Then he looked out to the crowd bowed his head in appreciation for everyone through his years.
Played it too...
listen to the lyrics - 45 years later and still better and more relevant than most songs that came after.
Roger Daltrey still kicks ass
@Fred Jaminson I don't see you doing anything impressive
These guys were killing it at the original Woodstock. Let that sink in for a moment.
Right, ok - what next?
Not according to Townshend.
@@mriamright1740 Missed the point?
@@digidrum2003 Yea I heard something about Woodstock. Didn't they end up standing around for 14 hours waiting to go on stage? I also seem to remember that someone slipped them some acid sometime during Saturday afternoon...
@@montydaniels1054 I think you're right. Also some musician ran up on Pete while he was playing on stage and Pete smashed the guy with his guitar...Pete also said the sound was shit. With all that said....I still would of loved to be there😁
Pino Palladino is an incredible bass player, and many of his bass lines are legends, but nobody can replace the Ox.
"The Who" in our hearts ETERNALLY!!!!!!.
50 years and there still rolin it would be awsome if they go through 60 👍
Noah Curless
Proper band playing proper music. That voice....still!! 👏🙌
I remember when, Who's Next, was released. Baba O'Riley was so powerful, it blew my socks off!. My mom didn't understand their music nor did I. I just knew I had to play their songs as much as possible.👌👍😃
It was a fantastic LP...it opened the road to the definitive masterpiece of rock...QUADROPHENIA!!!!
"Sally....Take My Hand....." PURE CHILLS
I'm 51, probably first heard this in '73 or '74? I've seen the Who live in '82, twice in a week in '89 (the Tommy production at Universal Amphitheatre, L.A. with guests Steve Winwood, Billy Idol, Phil Collins, Patti LaBelle and Sir Elton John-what a fucking night!! And two nights later at L.A. Colosseum. '08, and doing Quadrophenia in '13. Total 5x live. Sadly, none while Moon was alive. Three with The Ox.
Each and every time (and damn near every time when I still hear it on the radio, I get fucking chills down my spine. This song is an anthem, at once a raised fist of anger and rebellion and a realization that anger and rebellion aren't always enough and can be a dead end.
If Townshend had never written Tommy prior, this would solidify his place as one of rocks geniuses. Add this (The Who's Next lp) on top of Tommy and Quadrophenia right after?
The Who are easily one of the best rockers ever. If not THE best.
Long Live Fucking Rock.
Javais 18 ans - j'adorais cette musique - j'ai 70 ans et je suis toujours accro....Merci pour cette musique qui traverse les âges...De tout coeur avec ceux qui aiment...
Both of them giving it everything they got to still hit those high notes. Legends!
Amazing that in their 70s they can still pull this off. The Who truly are one of the ten most iconic and influential bands of all time.
That's a pretty respectable performance. Daltry still has some pipes.Pete is a legend.
Yvesjun
Roger didn't swing the microphone around in this ,so long as he can still do it that's a great thing
Pete's voice is a little gravely but then so is mine.
3:40 I didn't know Edward Snowden was a Who fan.
LOL
February 2020....A child of the 60's...I had to smile all the way through the video, Knowing every single note and nuance to the song, able to use my stomach while I tapped out the drumming.
Easily, a 50 year old song....I imagine far older than most of those in the audience - Thank Gawd, they have an appreciation for fine music.
“Hope I die before I get old”
Well, Roger, you’re old, my friend, but please don’t die lol
He may be old, but he's got energy.

Roger's voice is incredibly powerful and expressive for a 72 years old "fella" :DD
One of the best songs of all time.

I was just thinking that this song was released the year my mom was born, and its still a kickass song
Yeah, art is the only way mankind can beat time!
I've loved this song for 50 years.
It must bring them back to their youth, so many memories.
All these years later and they still sound amazing and are crazy talented.

Out here in the fields
I fight for my meals
I get my back into my living
I don't need to fight
To prove I'm right
I don't need to be forgiven
Don't cry
Don't raise your eye
It's only teenage wasteland
Sally ,take my hand
Travel south crossland
Put out the fire
Don't look past my shoulder
The exodus is here
The happy ones are near
Let's get together
Before we get much older
Teenage wasteland
It's only teenage wasteland
Teenage wasteland
Oh, oh
Teenage wasteland
They're all wasted!
That’s weird....
You put this here as if I needed it
It’s actually I farm for my meals..
I always thought it was farm for my meals
oh my god. I like this song. 😍
Thank god Rodger shared his voice with the world it still sounds amazing
The audio quality here is just bizarre good
The line, "It's only teenage wasteland" being sung in 2015 cannot be more accurate xD
Joshua Kapoor lol
Tobakilacion Because, 🎵ITS A TEENAGE WASTELAND🎵
it was accurate back when this came out too guy
It's always accurate.
When they wrote this in '70/71 they had just teleported back from time travel to first decade of 2000's and saw all the worthless whining mllennials who live in moms basement
Zak Starkey, Ringo’s son on drums, all still kicking butt.
Keith would be proud
"yes, that's me in the corner. you're probably wondering how I ended up in this position. well, it all started in the summer of '86..."
The harmonica playing is the most enjoyable than any other live version
Roger's voice after all these years is still perfect.
ANIMAAAAAL!!!!!
THE WHO, Melhor Banda!!!
Saudades, Rock in Rio!
The Who will always be my favorite Rock & Roll Band, they even passed The Beatles 35 years ago...
One of my favorite songs ever...reminds me of my best friend Martin who passed away in november 15th 2021....RIP love😚
One of the best song of era of The Who band !!
Love it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I realize the comment on this video comes 6 years later... I really like how Roger and Pete don't sound the same and sound a lot older, but they also don't seem to be trying to. In fact I'd say Rogers delivery in lyrics is very different, but still works perfectly.
Pino is such a good Bassplayer! He would perfectly fit in the Band... He stays as calm as Entwistle😁🤯
Going to see em tonight in Sacramento.
Rock on boys!
Son increíbles!!! El mejor grupo del mundooo!!!!!! Ojalá haber estado allí!!!!
My first concert was October 1982 Farwell Tour at Shea Stadium, NYC .
First Opening act for the Who was David Johansen ( Buster Poindexter ) formerly of The New York Dolls .
Then The Clash performed till 9pm , simply incredible.
Finally the Who took over and played and played , the final encore was 2 am !
They filmed the concert that evening which I now have on Bluray !

An absolutely timeless song. If you wouldn't know exactly when it was released you'd have hard time placing it in the correct decade.
They look old but rock and roll can never make their spirit old
