The Who will rock long after they are all gone and forever because of songs like this.
Das waren noch schöne Zeiten. Genial die Rhythmen - tolle Stimmen - echte Männer
Just saw them Sunday night in Jacksonville FL. Roger, Pete, Little Brother Simon Townsend and Zac Starky on drums! They were wonderful, my life is complete!
*Townshend
Going to see them this Sunday in Cincinnati. First time they've been back here in 40 years since 11 people were trampled to death trying to get into their concert in the 70s. Can't wait to see them!
@@amyballman4268 You're a ray of sunshine, aren't you 😆
Just iconic. Each had such complete recognizable performances in their own right. You could watch each individually and be entertained. thanks to the musical Gods who brought these guys together.
Always thought of The Who as the perfect storm of a live rock band. Just mind blowing stage performance’s.
Powerful song. The Who at their peak.
Now watch their performance of Eminence Front from 1982. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BAND.
Absolutely right. Keith Moon died within months of this performance. This ABSOLUTELY was The Who at their peak!
One of the greatest bands of all time. All were unreal at what they did
The quintessential Pete Townsend and probably the greatest live act to ever appear on stage. This is the Who!.
My son saw this performed live in Vancouver last week, he text to say it was the greatest thing he had ever witnessed in his life, and he wished I could of been there with him.......so do I son X
"could have"
I saw them 2 yrs ago in the concert in Portland, OR, and had a great time
One of the dopest bass players of all time, Entwistle rocked 🤘🏽
The Best.
Yes, it was the dope that killed him.
Very,very well said.
Still listening in 2024!
I am here July 26 2024

I'm here! In September 2024!
When CHAOS and CALMNESS combine for a great song.
Oh my God this track is very energy for my brain and heart, is my favorite song of Who ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
One of greatest rock songs of all time
I saw them the first time live when I was 13 years old in Germany. On TV. That´s when I changed my life. Now I´m 57 years young and I still love this music!
Keep on rocking you young soul. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
Stairway to heaven, Barba O'Reilly, and Kiss Rock and roll all night!!! Rock and roll anthems!!!
The image quality is absolutely outstanding, you really can’t beat film quality over digital
That bass coming through at the start is so powerful
I was born in 1993. This music is for the eternity. Great stuff🔥🔥🔥
Thank you guys!
I have no shame admitting it, when I see this live I shed a tear. What an amazing piece of music.
Ladies and Gents, this is why we should never stop shooting film...
Now digital is OK, but in the early 2000s dang it was rough.
The greatest rock song from the greatest rock band in the world !
I was born working class in Manchester & they meant everything to me .
Thank you so much for posting this 💗
Remastering this 35mm to 4K digital looks like it was shot yesterday. AMAZING experience for all generations, thanks for who's involved.
The best era of music
Get a copy of the remastered "The Kids Are Alright" -- there's a feature on the restoration that's really interesting.
One of the best, most epically recognisable songs ever.
Far, *far* better than the vast majority of "modern" songs
@@xHadesStamps Agreed 100%, there is so much more skill and craftsmanship involved in this
The guy who remastered this film should get some massive pay rise or something because it looks like it was shot yesterday
I think it's actually the film reel that was used back then is really good quality, only problem was the tvs were not powerful enough to show it, good quality film reels fron the 60s/70s cleaned up are actually the equivalent of a 40k-100k clear picture(we are currently at 4k digitally). Source - the moon landings movie that cane out in the summer Q&A with director on picture quality.
what do you mean for TVs was not powerful enough?
@@napomania they didnt have the resolution to reproduce the full quality of film
@@jordanmc9877 we're way past 4k already mate. 8K cameras are a thing, and it's still going up.
@@jordanmc9877 that's big brain
Jesus the bass actually sounds like a piano it’s that bright
Played with an alembic exploitor through some sort of sunn amp though i forgot exactly what kind.
Fresh strings
There’s a pianist behind Townsend’s amp. That’s why
Well of course fresh strings everyone knows fresh strings sound brighter
treble to the max
Kieth Moon was just the best rock drummer ever ! RIP my friend 💗
I think he was almost dead at this point. Poor guy was left more or less unguided with dangerous self medication. Totally agree that he was AWESOME on drums!!!
@@asharpbflat7179 Yeah I think this was recorded less than 4 months before he passed away. You can see how out of shape he is. I've seen recordings from 5 years earlier that are mindblowing.
Saw the who 10 times in my life and every show was outstanding. They totally captivated the crowd!
Maaaaaan I'm so so so fucking jealous 😭😍
This show was the first time The Who had played together in over a year. Pete was so disappointed with this performance he didn’t want it recorded. Yet this is a 100 times better than anything we have today.
Damn, this show is pretty epic. Especially with Won’t Get Fooled Again!
I think you are mixing up the details a bit. They played the Kilburn show in December 1977. They last played in October 1976 before that. It was the Kilburn show he was unhappy with. John wad drunk, Keith had in Peter own words forgotten how to play drums. And Roger forgot some words.
@@bent2 that’s brilliant haha
Me to my drug dealer: "I'll have what Pete's having"
That's funny
John Massoud lulz
I want what Keith had but we will never know because he didn’t even know
Blow!
Acid.... to funny..... their stylist was on something good....😂
I was lucky to see the Who perform live 1979-the best live band I ever saw! The best show ever!
Im 47 and only now heard this song. Wow. Genius
