I'm glad that the reporter was honest. Most food reviewers say they love the dish even when their facial expressions betrayed their true feelings; all because they don't want to offend the host.
Remember she is German, hurting someone’s feelings is less important than being honest for most people. Here in Germany the polite thing to do is being upfront and honest about most things, as opposed to being agreeable and smiley. As a South American, even after 5 years and a German wife I still grapple a bit with this kind of politeness vs the one I grew up with.
Boza, it’s very refreshing, healthy probiotic drink. Of course it takes a bit of time to get used to the taste but once you do it becomes an addiction 😁
As an American who spent a week there last year, i can remember having lamb for the first time in my life and really enjoying it. I even had lamb and yogurt inside of Berat Castle, common based Albania moment X)

my family is from pakistan and eating lamb is one of the things we have in common with albanians :)
@@Supernova10000 I had never even seen a lamb or goat before I went to Albania, what we usually eat here is cow or pig meat. Which of course, is something we don't have in common with either India or Pakistan.
@@kidfox3971i actually live in new york, so i know americans usually eat beef/pork, but ive seen many other cultures who eat different kinds of meat since there’s a lot of ppl from different countries here.
It’s just that with so much influence from other places its difficult to really know what’s the norm in the rest of the country lol
@@Supernova10000 Well I'm a Southerner so we're actually close to the farms that raise a lot of the livestock, so if you want the best meat in the country then definitely come down here. Plus, we're a lot cleaner than New York X)
I have a few friends who are from Albania or have family there, so I got more interested in the culture.
It's a really beautiful country!! I'd love to visit someday!!

Eating food from greece or turkey makes you think that all their foods are their invention 😅😅😅.
Perhaps is the opposite Greece have Albanian Tradition food 😉 like for example one simple Example im giving to you , our Fustanella wich you guys "Borrowed" from us , so imagine when you "Borrow" from us your officail State Clothes imagine what can happens with food tradition and other things ,but Anyway you Greeks are respectful peoples ,i mean one part of you guys 😉

I do not know, I feel my expectations weren't met. I do not feel represented.
Albanians have a light breakfast? That must be a modern thing, because our breakfast are as fatty as they come. Lots of pastry with cheese and the good old dhalle! And then what did they do to the fli? Sweet fli? Who’s ever heard of anything like that? Interpretation indeed, but definitely not the real deal. The real fli is salt and savoury. Wtf 😂 talk about ruining the traditional Albanian cuisine by bringing in some fusion of some sorts.

We wanted to do an honest food tour with authentic reactions and everyone has a different taste, right? 😉Which doesn't mean at all that the food was regarded as bad.

She is not talking about her personal taste here,but what albanian guides and chefs sugest for a tourist , and are typically Albanian ( flia fergesa,ice cream with boza , harapash etc…) .She is not obligated to act like she enjoys everything ,that would be fake. It’s an informing video about Albanian cuisine ,not a sponsored promotion .

Eh...the guide took her to basically the Starbucks of Albania. Would have been better to take her to the typical cafe where dudes hang out chainsmoking all day. More authentic experience.

@@GodisMyNo1to be completely fair, the average American has probably never heard of Albania or seen it on a map because they don’t have a large presence globally. I’m pretty sure the average European can’t label or recall most caribbean islands because they don’t have contact with that region often.
Having spent three months in Turkey, I was expecting something very originally Albanian for cuisine. Bit disappointing.
