That depends on a lot. What's in your system and if you want your light on at night or during the day. Does your system need to remove more phosphates and nitrates.

Why in the world would you keep your light on 24hrs in the refugium? Your asking for problems man. In my opinion you need detritus in the refugium for a healthy one. I know many reefers would disagree but I stand firm on it.

I dont think bristle worms are bad, I just dont wanna get pricked so my tank doesn't have any lol
Every marine tank has them but they are good at hiding!!! Get a torch and look in ur tank 1 hour after lights out

I have two one for back up but depending on pump and pipe size the decision can be made easily.
What type of shrimp are self populating the sump?
I have peppermint shrimp in there and I think the other are brine shrimp 🦐 at the moment.
