The light plug into the balance port on the flight battery. The Flex planes use a Potenza flight controller, so you do not have to use a regular rx. I have a lemon rx satellite receiver hooked up to is and the flight controller acts like the receiver. The light are set to the gear channel if I remember correctly, so they can be assigned to a switch.
@@mzgarage another question for you if u don't mind. I've recently got back into flying. Can I bypass the potenza flight controller and plug all the servos into my own receiver? (Didn't have gyro back in my day)

It has been awhile since I up the plane, but I don't see why you couldn't do that. The flight controller does have default modes for the gyro on or off. I will say that it is tuned pretty well the way it come, at least when I purchased it a few years ago it was, and the plane flies amazing. It does exactly what you tell it to. An older guy I used to fly with had this plane along with many balsa 3D planes and he said its the closest to feeling like one of those.
Do u need a separate battery for the lights? Do the lights just plug into an open channel on the receiver?
