All RC planes fly in 3 dimensions, but 3D has been adopted as a term for aerobatics in tight 3D moves. The planes have a greater power to weight ratio so they can hover, and have MUCH greater throws on larger control surfaces for quick exaggerated moves. How’s that?

What you are calling 3d flying is what is called in full-sized aircraft "Stunt Flying". Stunt flying is aerobatic maneuvers performed at slow speeds at low altitudes mainly for an audience.

3D maneuvers are maneuvers that are accomplished without lift from the wings. 3D planes always have oversized control surfaces, and extreme power to weight ratio. I see your 3D skills are really improving!! ;-)

Curious what receiver are you using. Reason for asking is I can't get aux 1 to turn lights on and off using the ar7000 PWM receiver.
I just got this plane and really like it BUT; I have no idea how FI intended to power the LED lights. I am using the Aurora 8 with remote reciever but it does not seem to be able to power the light controls. Any help?
Nate, I read this plane uses “Aura 8 gyro”. Clearly adds some stabilization. Does it have any capability similar to HH SAFE mode?

Hi guys,I have a problem with the 120A ESC on my JLB J3speed.when I switch it on there is a flashing red light and I have no throttle and no steering.iv tryed re-calibrating with no luck.Its also brand new.Any suggestions please.Also LOVE your channel guy's.
either your a little nose heavy or you need more elevator control throw, Your flat spins are not Truly Flat... That nose needs come up even with the tail.. But your getting so much better with Knife edges. and ive never flown the Extra but sure it flys great. love the Mamba 10 and i have there Cap 232.

Does seem a bit odd that they used all white LEDs on a 3D plane. I’m thinking something like aviation colors would be better for orientation, especially as darkness takes hold. Even simple circuits in the pattern with a basic 3- or 4-channel trainer can be surprisingly tricky in low-light conditions; I can only guess at how challenging it gets doing maneuvers with a bird like this one!
Yeah I would like to see some additional colors in the lights too, helping with orientation. Maybe just some red on the bottom or something? 👍😎⚓
I'm on the edge of trying a plane, my first one, I like the look of the Cub/Timber. I also like the mini Apprentice with the one piece wing. Been watching videos, both say their trainers with the 'upgrade' switch. Are they about the same? Although isn't the Apprentice smaller, which having a single wide trailer, space is also a consideration. Which one would be better do you think?
Neither my friend. There are a couple even better trainer planes now to learn on. Have you see our videos on the Aeroscout?
Nice flying. I think you need a real dark, not camera dark so we can get the real look. You could just Hoover in front of you ,and do a pirouette to show the lights. Or just hold it up lights on and turn it around. Great flying, most excellent camera work Abby. ⚓⚓👍👍👏👏⚓⚓.

You need to give more rudder to do a knife edge unless your doing a harrier knife edge.

Nate tower hobbies is selling the phinex 20cc slick for 250$ put a dle 20cc in that and you will get 20 minutes of flight and a gallon of 2.50 gas will last you all day its a much better flying experience

Tha difference between a 3d plane and a sports plane is the size of the control surfaces and the power of the engine/motor.

So, a couple of years back my father died. He didn't leave much but I've been able to make my mother's life a bit more comfortable. The rest went on my PC, a new mountain bike and some RC... I now have a trx4 bronco, three new boats and quite a few planes. Oh and a drone (feel free to check out my poorly edited videos of my local countryside). My problem is that I've never flown a plane and after a year or so of stalling I'm getting really nervous about taking out one of my trainers. I don't know anyone locally to help me learn. Unfortunately I've blown all the cash and can't afford the good sims, hell, I can't spare enough to become a patron! Do you know of a cheap or ideally free bit of softwares I can use until the spring when hopefully the wind will die down a bit?
