I'm using 3600 sticks and for some reason when I saved and exited it didn't actually save and refused to post after that. Had to restart pc to get it to post again.
For some reason when I enable MXP I get an error reading “All settings were set to default values. The previous settings have failed, system has been restored to its default settings.” Does anyone know why or have a fix? I’m trying to have my RAM run to its full potential, and it does the same thing when I manually set the RAM to what it can perform in BIOS.
My RAM speed is 3200 MHz. I don't know why you can't achieve advertised speed, maybe motherboard limitation? You have to check your motherboard specs first to make sure it handles more than 3200 mhz ram
@@SoftwareGeek I was able to replace em with a better model and figured out how to enable the xmp profile. I've since stopped using the laptop in lieu of a desktop
You're probably not replying to comments anymore but when I enable my Xmp profile 1 it puts it up to 2667mhz even though my ram is 3200 and my CPU supports that? Any answers?
It was working on my 4650g cpu but now i got ryzen 3600 and when i enable xmp it doesnt boot i need to remove mobo battery to boot again. Ialready updated my bios. :( I have a520m pro vh mobo and using 3600mhz 18cl ram.

What clock speed dooes your RAM run at with XMP? more than 5000mhz with 4 stick would be impressive. My current rig is 4x8 and is nice and stable. But talking performance higher clocking 2stick dual channel will perform better because you can OC higher as more stable than 4x with higher number

@@SoftwareGeek no it’s z790 MSI tomahawk 1700 lag socket intel 13th gen. I had the MSI gaming plus mobo before this and I had the exact same thing. Instead of seeing XMP profile I see IXPO profile

Dual channel mode is supported. If your PC doesn't boot with 2 sticks of ram maybe one of your ram slot is not working? Also sometimes it doesn't work when using two different brand and frequency ram sticks together
@@SoftwareGeek I tried both sticks in each ram slot and it boots, just won't boot together. I currently have 1x 8gb and 1x 4gb installed and it's working, could be a BIOS setting or the ram type, it's a no name kind of brand.

Thanks for the reply, checking on the manufacturer site they are compatible for xmp up to 3600 mhz. By updating the bios I managed to enable the button for auto xmp but the problem now is that it automatically brings them to me at 2667 MHz, while in manual oc I can only bring them up to 3200 MHz :/
@@SoftwareGeek I have b460 motherboard, so I guess no problem here, also from my research I found out that speeds above 2666 is only possible on Z motherboards and it is basically overclocking since 2666 is max speed not just recommended
B460 chipset supports 2666MHz max speed for Core i3/i5 CPUs and 2933MHz max speed for i7/i9 parts. RAM overclocking was not possible on B series motherboards until 12th gen lineup comes out. If you have Z490 motherboard you can enable XMP profile and get advertised clock speeds shown on your ram sticks. Your CPU isn't limit the ram speed to 2666 MHz but your motherboard does
This works with 3600mhz ram too, right? Looking to upgrade a bit since it's so cheap now. My motherboard is compatible with the memories I looked at so it should work fine.

Xmp2 is less hz so xmp1 is better

Hello. I have RAM 3600 MHz with ryzen 5 3600. Why i can only set RAM to 3200 MHz exactly like you, but not to 3600?

Laptops don't need manual tuning of ram settings. The best settings are already applied by manufacturer of your laptop

Is your ram sticks compatible with that Z670 motherboard? You can check compatibility in manufacturer website.

There're two different profiles. You can choose only one XMP preset. Choose the one which performs better and is stable for your PC

Look for DOCP not XMP. They call it XMP if you have intel compatible motherboard and DOCP for AMD mobos but both are the same thing

Some manufacturers provided twi types if ram Intel based and amd based.

It is the same thing so enable EXPO profile and check if your memory runs at advertised speed

What about something less fancy like a msi h110m pro-vh plus?
H110 chipset doesn't support memory overclocking. Max speed is 2133 mhz for this motherboard

Are new ram stick and your old stick the same? Same brand, same mhz, same cl?

It's DDR ( Double data rate ) 1600 MHz x 2 = 3200 MHz. Some softwares show half of the speed.

Look for DOCP. Intel systems have XMP and AMD systems have DOCP

Some memory modules support only one profile. If your RAM has only one XMP profile the enable it

Looks like you have amd based system. You have to turn on DOCP instead of XMP. It is the same thing as xmp

Just click on the xmp profile that you enabled again and it will disable it. save and exit.
