    Love hearing you reference the hair "click clacks" I haven't thought about those in ages. I'm still afraid of getting smacked when one of those snapped.

    I am so glad you did a review of these things. I have been eyeing the stuff for awhile now and on the fence about what to get and what not to get. My daughter bought me a few things over Christmas and I have to agree with the ergonomic hook. Mine also seems to squeak so its lovely, and will make a pretty piece to display in my craft room, but not one I think I will use. However, I am definitely going to grab that hook set here soon. Thank you!

Now I’m going to go ask my daughter if she’d let me have a couple of them back, lol!

    I actually posted about those "skein savers" in a FB group last week and BOY! Everyone had similar comments about wearing those and the nightmares that ensued...OUCH...I just got a headache looking at them...DENTS IN MY CRANNIUMMMMM....those things are EVIL...Yep, I think I just got a knot in my head looking at those...They made great weapons! Spread them out, pull back the ball and Zing! Whap! Owie!

      The 99 cent store sells them for a pack of 8 for a $1.25. People needs to stop playing with people who have common sense. I found my daughters from when they were children, they didn’t like wearing them but used them in their dolls hair and my friend uses them to keep her hair extensions together.

      TL Yarn Crafts Girl I’m with you. I have a few “designer” hooks that are inline and some with Bates inserts. Been crocheting with my original Bates set for 43 years. Only change is I added rubber handles for comfort.

    • @char8059
      @char8059 4 года назад +2

      @@TLYarnCrafts It's so nice to hear about other "Susan Bates' Girls"! I learned to crochet on Susan Bates and still love them. I've tried some of the newer hooks and while I guess they're nice for many people, my yarn just wants to fall off the hook. I love my Bates. However, that said, I'm curious about the Interchangeable Hooks since you and others here like them so much. I had thought about them previously but wasn't sure. Thanks to everyone for your reviews on the Interchangeable Hooks. As far as everything else, nothing really rang my bell. I agree with many of you that the items are overpriced and when I saw those ponytail clackers, I couldn't believe my eyes!! Lol Seriously? Still laughing! Thanks for a really informative and FUN review!

    I have and love the inter changeable hooks. I got them at Joann’s with a 50% off coupon so I have 2 sets. One for in my camper and one in my to-go bag. I also bought a h size hook but it didn’t work for me. There is a seam on the throat of the hook that catches my yarn. I do like the jumbo hooks though. Especially since they are hard to find sizes. Can’t use the stitch markers and felt the same way about the scissors. The case is nice as is the tape measure but nothing special. Love the tags and pins. Price wise for everything I would only get them with coupons. Thank you for your recommendations. Please keep doing these. It is so helpful.

    I love reviews! Had to laugh about the price of hooks since I have a gifted set from when I started 40 plus years ago. Not ergonomic and either plastic or aluminum but I don't see me getting a new set since I am so used to these ones. bought a set of Tunisian hooks made from bamboo with what looks like IV tubing on Amazon and things are going well with them. They were stored in a circle so I hang them in a pant hanger with the ends in the clip to straighten. Saving my $ for yarn stashes!

    I gotta tell ya, you are the only crochet designer who’s opinion I consistently agree with. I only use deep slotted hooks, so I completely agree with your opinion on those. The jumbos look like my favorite as well. I have few but want them to work as well as my regular hooks which it looks like these will. I was meh on the rest for exactly the same reasons as you were. I’m particularly into my scissors and I have one of those round things with the blades on it too. They all work excellent on cutting yarn and crochet thread evenly and on the first try. If they’re poor quality and If they don’t cut right, they end up in the craft stuff or are used for cutting tape, etc.
    BTW, I’m making the Summertime Tank this week and I love it 😻
    Take care and thanks for the honest reviews.

I'm on a limited budget and wanted to try a fairly affordable resin set of hooks without having to pay $10 per hook and really wondered if an actual crafter had tried them!
