If the bag is stored on its side do all the needles fall out of their little home/pocket? Really love the bag with the zippy pockets! Perfect for extra cords!
Toaster is so chill! I have a golden doodle. He follows me everywhere. I have to lock him out of the dye studio and he knocks in the door with his paw. I dye yarn with guilt. 😅
I've started knitting a couple of years ago and began watching a lot of youtubers - the thing is, seeing how many needles and notions they had, I felt like my own little collection was lacking. Seeing you in this process of decluttering and donating the extras makes me feel SO much better, because I can now see that hey, I don't need a bunch of extras! I can start saving to actually acquire only what I need or really want to have. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
Never clicked on a video so fast. I was so excited for this video 😁 absolutely adore your content and I'm so happy that I found you at the beginning of the year. Your my favorite RUclips now.
I had reorganized last year. Love having everything in one place. The only thing you may want to add to the front pocket is a small notebook and a pen. I found that came in really handy..
I love it! I recently started sewing my own project bags. I want to make one like this! Maybe you should get another coordinating pouch to put all your yarn cozies in? They deserve their own beautiful floral bag 😉 I agree so much with getting the tools that you love using the most. I’m going try to sell some crochet hooks and put that towards a full set of Clover Amour. I have just a few and they are my absolute favorite.
These are soo cute. I also make my own. I take inexpensive placemats, fold them in thirds, and sew the lines on to the first fold and mark the sizes. Add a ribbon to tie them closed. DPNs go in one, Circulars in another, long and short in another. Placemats are great for crafts as they are already lined and quilted. I have so many needles now.
I absolutely love this! I have way too many needles, hooks, and notions, and I aspire to declutter like this. I havent managed to do it though, because I tend to have several WIPs at a time and I keep separate notions pouches with each one (with a minimum of scissors, a few stitch markers, the hook if it’s a crochet project, stuff like that) so I can grab and go. I need a better grab and go system.
I so need an organizing system like this. I've spent so much time searching for the needles / hooks to start a new project and couldn't remember where I stored them last. Thanks for sharing.
This video was so therapeutic! I am so interested in what you do with your stitch markers, because that's the only thing keeping me from doing what you just did here! Can't wait for that video!
I love organizing videos and this was a fun one. Can't wait to see your notions organization too...hopefully it will all fit in your beautiful bag.❤ Have to say I was so worried about Toaster eating your tapestry needles laying open on your bed. Whew! Glad he stayed sleeping. 😮
Happy for you! I find this too, clutter accumulates as I try different techniques and tools. At some point on the journey I end up distilling the essentials and de-stashing. Looks great!
This is the shop where I got my needle case a few years ago and I LOVE it. I don't recall having the option to customize it for shorties, but I may not have had mine at that time. I keep all my 5" interchangeable needles in their pockets. My sock DPNs and shorties (size 0-8) are in their individual cases inside. I also keep my try-on cords, row counters, scale, extra scissors, and extra stitch markers inside. My extra cords and all my needle accessories are in the zippered pocket. It lives in my knitting basket next to my couch and when I go away, I just take the whole thing so I have everything I may need.
I remember seeing you organizing your stitch markers and progress keepers a while ago. At that time i thought to myself 'how on earth can someone collect so many of them??', but now i realize how thats possible. That being said, i wanted to open your mind for different purposes of stitch markers, so you have the possibility or an excuse to keep more: some progress keepers are actually chained on earring-closings, so you can wear them as earrings if they are not to heavy. I personally like the small metal/silver only for that, often they come in packages with 2-4 identical, which is great for symmetric wearing. Another purpose: i like to remove the small plastic or fabric strips from zippers all over my wardrobe and backpacks and replace them with progress keepers. Sometimes i put a marker on my different keys so i have something i can quickly look for and don't have to try every key when i want to enter my basement. Or i use them as gift decorations (but that is a form of giving away). Lastly my neighbours young girl lately loves to wear bracelets and collects all sort of pendants which she wears all at once. I made her day by gifting her a marker with an easter egg. She immediately put it onto her bracelet. If you have some young girls from age 7-12 around your family or neighbourhood they sure would be excited for a collectors bracelet. All you need is a bracelet with large chains and some progress keepers that you don't need anymore. Also i absolutely adore your new needle pouch, and i may sew one myself now. Thanks for sharing such inspirational things with us!
I recently purchased a needle binder set that allowed me to do the same as you; move all my stuff into one place. It has felt amazing! I'm two months into it now and putting things away is so much fun now!
Cute. Very nice bag. Now to find a bag that would contain the needles I have collected - and inherited - over the last 68 years. They currently occupy three drawers. Then, there are the notions… maybe Santa’s bag?
Natalie, the cables from your Knitter’s Pride needles, will fit your Lantern Moon tips, I only know this because I have a set of both and tried it out.
I want to get a set to knitting needles but don’t know which ones. I was wondering why you like wooden ones over stainless steel? Just so I have an idea what I should get. I have to learn how to knit, I do crochet but I am new at this as well. Thank you for your info😊
As soon as I saw this on your video I contacted Molly and can’t wait for the update! After watching you I am so excited! My beautiful bags are ordered and I can’t wait to declutter! My saying this year is “Less is More” thank you for all the positive motivation!
Truly love your organizational methods and this was superb fun to watch. Great work and great job in selecting gorgeous and superior quality custom storage for your needs.
Thanks! I did not keep any of the plastic packaging. For the Lantern Moon case, I’m thinking about seeing if anyone needs an empty interchangeable case!
I'm so in love with this I have all my knitting and crochet things everywhere taking up space in places that could be used for other things and have the time I have a hard to finding what I'm looking for. This is amazing. I will have to take a swing by Molly's etsy shop and have a look next week!
Loved this video! And I also really like the pouch! I've tought about getting it, but with shipping to the EU it was out of my budget. I've looked up so many needle cases on Etsy, and after a while I found my dream one for dpn's (I have and use lot of those). After a few months I also orderd one for my interchangeble needles, from another seller, but she could manage to make it in the same fabric as my dpn one! I really love it!!! Now I'm looking for a great way to store my fixed cirular needles, but I haven't found it yet. The pouch folder looks great, I've favorited the Etsy shop, so who knows??☺
Don't know if I missed it, but dont forget scissors and tape measure. Also, keep a needle and guage checker since they are so pretty and you have room. X
Thanks for sharing! Curious to know how you’ll be taking things for your travels. Like if you take the purl strings out of their little pouch to bring, how to keep them from tangling
Thanks for a great video Natalie! This bag is definitely beautiful. I would buy one if I hadn't already purchased 2 zippered binders to store all my knitting stuff in. I like mine just fine and they do the job, they just aren't that beautiful floral print lol I have mulitiple projects on the needles/hooks all the time so I'm not paring down my needles. I already gifted my metal crochet hooks so just have my Ommi's. I think I would keep a smaller bag for traveling with my knitting. It's much cheaper to replace one or two sets than everything you love needing replaced if lost or stolen. Maybe see if you can get a mini bag like the insert? Just a thought that someone mentioned and I agreed on.
I know it's a long shot since some of your extras will likely go to your LIS group, but my friend is an art teacher and she has students asking to learn crochet. I know she would LOVE some extra hooks and goodies We're on Long Island. Thanks!
Loved this video and I am excited to organize my tools as well! I have some fixed circs that I keep in the packages because I have so much trouble seeing the needle size and cord lengths. Do you or any other viewers have any tips on how to identify them without the packaging?
I really want something like this, especially for my shorties - I have the red Chiaogoo set plus the open stock 1.5 and 1.75 mm tips, and I'm having such a hard time finding a case that'll hold all eight pairs 😫
Great video, Natalie. I have that Lantern Moon set and the case is beautiful. I would have kept them in their case and put that case in the couch. I think there is room. My question - Don't you sometimes need more than one interchangeable set if you are knitting more than one project? Or do you take the needles off and just put them on the new project?
OMG 😮❤ I need one of these bags 😊!!! I was gifted tons of needles and notions from my neighbors Mom, when she passed, as well as, obtaining all my Mom’s stuff, when she passed. I rarely use straight needles...but really hard to give them away... is it time to let them go? Does anyone use straight needles anymore ? 🤷🏻♀️
That pouch looks great. I would love one with knitting needles on both sides. Will you be selling the shorty set? I was thinking of purchasing one because I love them for sleeves.
I really enjoyed your video! I’m looking for any extra knitting supplies you could part with! Somehow movers lost all my knitting supplies in the move! I’m retired and on limited income!
I've discovered I prefer knitting with metal needles. So once I have purchased all the sizes I generally use. I'll be passing on my knitpro trendz needle kit. But that will take time.
This is super cool and has me wondering how customized can you make it? Does she allow you to pick out your own fabric because while the pouch is amazing and awesome I am definitely not a floral person. My aesthetic is more neon cyberpunk and vaporwave and that includes all my knitting and crochet stuff. I would be totally up to covering all the extra costs to have it fully customizable like down to a particular zipper color, I have long wished to employ a person with the talent and skills to make me something like this.
Love this idea and bag. My only concern is that the scale might need a bit more padding should the pouch drop. Maybe it's in a solid case already and I just can't tell or maybe store it inside 😊.
Thank you for sharing! Have you considered donating your craft materials that you do not want to a creative re-use center? Most bigger cities have them and its a great way to donate art materials.
You are giving me inspiration to get my dang chiagoo needles out of their packages and put in a new case i just bought from Della Q! Not sure why I feel weird taking them out of the package lol
Question: do you have 2 sets of 2 pointed needles for socks/arms etc? I often knit socks woth scrap yarn and need to knit them parallell to make them match
Hi Natalie - I came across your video when searching for reviews on Lantern Moon. On another review, the person used her needles for three weeks and the Lantern Moon name and needle size on the needle was wearing off. Have you also experienced this since you've started using these?
I’m curious about your Tunisian hooks! I purchased a set and have enjoyed learning Tunisian crochet! But the hooks I bought are really hindering my enjoyment.. the cables don’t stay together, and the end caps constantly fall off. I bet the chiaogoo ones you showed work well though.. I love their knitting needles!
QUESTION!!! After I watched this video earlier today my scale broke. I looked through the comments and the show notes and didn’t see the name of your scale! I’ve been using a digital kitchen scale.
hi Natalie, i was wondering if you (or anyone reading this) has any suggestions for interchangeable needle sets? i had a metal one but they are way too slippery for my liking and i can’t knit with them. i was interested in purchasing the knit picks laminated wood ones that you showed, but i did some research and people seem to like that they’re slippery, but that’s not what i want. are they slippery like metal needles? is bamboo my best bet? if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated ❤ have a great day! Natalie, i am also going to knitty city tomorrow as per your recommendation and i am so excited!!!
For an affordable set with great quality that’s readily available to meet the specific needs you have listed I recommend the Chiaogoo bamboo interchangeable set.
@@maryglancy17 I actually have the small set of Chia Goo - size 2 thru 8. I'm currently using the size 3 for socks and I am really disappointed in them so far. The connection is not smooth and I have to push the stitches over the connection area every round. My other needle I'm using is a fixed 16" from knitters pride dreamz. They are so smooth and easy, the difference is glaringly apparent right off. I don't know if all of the connections on the others does the same but seeing how I bought these specifically for the smaller sizes, I'm a tish disappointed. I'm not even sure I want to keep using them. BTW I knit my socks 2 at a time on 16" circulars and have for years. I have fixed needles and interchangeable. I usually stick with the fixed because of the connection issue I've found even in like clover fixed - the stitches don't glide. The Dreamz are awesome though and I wish I could find them in different colors cause that's how i tell them apart while knitting.
Thank you so much for sharing Natalie! So glad you’re happy with it. These will be available again soon-next week!
I Can't wait!! I'm keeping an eye out for your e-mail notification @five to six. I might need 2?!!🤩
Woohoo!! Thanks, Molly! We will all be ready!
Beautiful bags
Do you happen to make organizers for flexible DPNs? I’m a disaster with mine
If the bag is stored on its side do all the needles fall out of their little home/pocket? Really love the bag with the zippy pockets! Perfect for extra cords!

😂 my doodle is exactly the same!
@@deboraharnold8587 they are predictable wonderfulness!
That Chiaogoo Forte set would be a serious giveaway. I’d sell them if I were you (I love my set even if using wood still scares me a bit.)

Your wooden needle gauge collection would also look awesome as artwork on the wall. Maybe near your calendars so see them abs they bring you joy!
I love the little pouch folder! That's such a great way to store some of the little loose stuff!
Watching this makes me want to organize. I need to do this with my needles.

I usually stick with the fixed because of the connection issue I've found even in like clover fixed - the stitches don't glide. The Dreamz are awesome though and I wish I could find them in different colors cause that's how i tell them apart while knitting.
@@maryglancy17 thank you!
Where did you get Toaster¡s blanket?
Hello Natalie, have you ever gotten rid of something and then regretted it?
Very rarely! I know it’s happened once, but given that I can’t recall what it was now, I must have resolved it pretty easily!
Where are scissors ✂️ & ruler?
If you work on more than1project at a time man maybe extras would help.
I have Apollo many needles. I think I hoard them. Not pretty.
