Please look in Dollarama's and Dollar tree stores. You can find amazing premium brand yarn discounted and pay a fraction of the cost! No need to prevent yourself from indulging in a knitted or crocheted project for yourself!
I've knitted with all their yarns except the linen (I'm not a designer, just knit waaaaaaaaay too much). Overall, I don't have any issues knitting, but by far my favorite is the finita! I like to make lace sweaters and cardigans and it's lightweight and soft but not uncomfortably hot like the wool ones. The bamboo is really nice for brioche stitch, but not so much lace. I have 2 summer cardigans I made from bamboo that are nice and flowy
Ross (Smells Great Guy) does a touch of this sort of thing. He is not as detailed as Toni, but he will tell you what he likes for knitting and constantly tries new yarn.
I dont need any yarn, i probably wouldnt order any from we are knitters, with or without any reviews but i could listen to these yarn snob videos all day! Confession....Sometimes i watch them more than once
Best yarn reviews on RUclips. You give me the information I need before sending limited money on yarn. So tired of reviews that are simply look how much yarn I can buy and give away to boost views bot not give any useful information. Thanks for being a great resource and sharing your time with us.
I live for these videos. You’re reviews are in-depth but not too slow and I like how you give examples for what you would use the yarn for. The videos are just so soothing but also entertaining.
I learned to knit as a child and picked up knitting a couple years ago. Your videos are the only ones that make we want to knit again - although I might look into Tunisian crotchet - I've never done that before.
I am primarily a knitter (though I was all crochet for almost 30 years before and still do some) and when you dumped that bag I was all "Ooooh, things I like." (personally do NOT like working with linen/vicose primary yarns, though).
In my experience as a weaver (& knitter, spinner, crocheter, etc) I've found that linen-based yarns work best in weaving and cooperate best that way. Linen is really 'grippy' even when spun smoothly so crocheting or even knitting with linen yarn can be difficult no matter what; viscose is slippier so I assume that's why it was used for a yarn intended for knitting, but it would still be difficult with the linen inclusion.
You just reminded me that I have to finish my clawfoot blanket! I know this is a yarn review, but those new Tunisian hooks!! Love the extra sharp tips. I think I need those! :)
Omg Fredrik Backman! Many years ago when I was 13 I read his book (my favorite ever) "A man called Ove" and wrote a piece about him in school at the time. I had the chance to meet him and give it to him, and he signed the books I had, we talked for a long time. It's amazing to see his book turn into a movie and then be nominated for an Oscar - and now see people from all over the world (like you!) mention him. He is truly the sweetest man ever, and so talented!
I can never get enough of your yarn snob reviews, plus any and ALL of your videos, patterns, posts, etc.! You are my absolute FAVORITE yarn content creator! Thanks for being YOU!! You are a blessing and a light in this world!
After just completing my first ever pair of knitted socks with fingering, I'm so glad you had Finita on here. I didn't think I'd ever WANT to work with fingering and I KNEW I didn't want to touch lace weight but now you've got me rethinking that. The swatch you did was GORGEOUS. I think that stitch would make a great summer tee or dress pattern...just saying. Thanks, Toni!
Not only are you one of my favorite designers and the best at reviewing products but you turned me on to two great audible books. I am listening to Anxious People and cannot stop! Thank you for this amazing review🥰🥰
Hi Toni, your energy is infectious! I really like the way you review yarns. I love your Tunisian crocheting. I can’t believe how many different ways you can create a design in Tunisian crochet! I’ve used Tunisian crochet once, and don’t think I had it down pat. But watching you crochet (not necessarily in this video, but in other videos tutorials) just inspires me to try Tunisian crochet more often. I’m plan to try some of your designs. Don’t stop doing what you’re doing, you’re great! (I have even seen you on CreateTV!) Wonderful you are! So lively, friendly and bubbly!
Ive loved We are Knitters and their kits. Patterns are great. Really enjoyed this yarn review of their new yarns! And your crochet samples inspire. I am learning Tunisian because of your videos and pattern at Knitcrate. Thanks for sharing.
Toni~ Ilysm, for all the reasons that "Ro" stated in their note to you! Also- I got a shipping notification that my yarn from Sewrella shipped!! I cannot wait!
WAK is one of my favorites! Self proclaimed yarn snob here and I don’t care what people think about that, it’s MY money, I spend it on what I chose to!
Anxious People is awesome!! If you haven’t already, get Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot. Love these yarn snob vids. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise
I haven’t watched your channel in a while and I forgot how enjoyable you videos are!! A few seconds into this vid, I said out loud, “Why is she so cute!? 😄” Seriously though, your bubbly, sweet, and genuinely fun personality makes your vids absolutely amazing!! Keep up the good work 👍
Yay I love WAK! I’m primarily a knitter and am working on 2 sweaters; one with Finita and one with Finita and The Fuzzy Yarn held together and they are a dream to work with!!!
When I saw the yarns I was saying oooh, oooh, oooh, I just wanted to grab and feel them all. I love your yarn reviews and that you give pattern suggestions for each yarn. I agree with you that 50-gram skein of yarn is too expensive but it is beautiful. I think I'm going to save some money for a yarn purchase at We Are Knitters.
I love your teaching videos, so easy to follow. your yarn reviews are very helpful. Since I have been trying to learn crocheting I pay to have ad free youtube. I am disappointed that you have started doing ads in your videos that have nothing to do with crafting. I do realize you make you income by yarn sponsored videos, you do a nice of making it subtle. Thank you for your lessons. Best wishes
Toni: Great review as are all of your yarn reviews. I will have to try out the Finita yarn as well as the Dyak Tunisian hooks. I have never heard of this company until now. The finish on that hook is beautiful along with the shape of the hook head. I think I may have a crush on that beautiful crochet hook! :-)
This was great! I’m much more of a knitter and LOVE the Fuzzy Yarn. I’m working with the Linen at the moment and agree that it’s a better knitting experience than it would be for crochet. Xxx
Great yarn review, thank you! I'm enjoying audiobooks while crocheting, great tip! F. Backman is a wonderful storyteller. You have some good listening to look forward to.
This is crazy. I JUST got my order from WAK when I saw you made this video. And then I'd JUST got some hobbii chunky yarns when that last yarn snob video came out. Hahaha great minds think alike! 😆
I have very recently found your channel and I’ve got to say I LOVE IT! I have been crocheting on and off for years but wouldn’t consider myself anything other than a beginner. You make it look so effortless and you have got me very interested in Tunisian crochet too and would love to give it a try one day x
Hi Tony! I am writing for the first time and I have recently started following you... I felt immediate connection with you as I saw your first video for the reason that we share similar passion for Crochet. Although I am quite handicapped with the "social networking thing" I love to watch your videos and now I have subscribed to your channel so I can directly see them. I am not expert in crochet but I too find it quite calming. BTW I loved your video where you used siri for selecting colour. A common thing which I had observed in your videos is that I see you using a crochet hook of large size than what I would have picked for a particular yarn. Could you make a video regarding how to choose the hook size based on yarn or design. Please.
Just bought a set of interchangeable wooden Tunisian crochet hooks (have had a single fixed TC hook for a while so I have practiced the basic stitches). Hope to get started on some projects in that skill soon. Using what I have learnt on this channel
You do such great work. Keep up the good work. I have never heard of we are knitters. I’ll have to look them up. Most likely I won’t be able to afford any of their yarn right now. Money this very tight right now. The yarn looks good but I don’t know if I would use it. I have a hard time with the thin yarns like that and the price is a little high for me. I can’t afford $20 for one ball of yarn.
I like Backman's books :) My favourite is A man called Ove, I also like the two books Bjornstad and Us vs Them. :)) From the yarns you showed, I would love to try Finita and Twist and shout :)) Ooh, I see that they ship from within EU, that makes me happy, I can try them :D
Thanks for the book recommendation! Im starting this book today. Also, the yarns are beautiful, especially the petite wool, but they are out of my budget. I can with though!!
I love your reviews. Have you ever do me a top ten of your favorites in specific types? Such as your favorite baby yarn or home goods (Bernat) 🙂 I try to keep my own list but am failing miserably. Your content has so much depth!
Yo I read Anxious People at the beginning of this year and I love love loved it. Couldn't put it down. Definitely need to check out Fredrik Backman's other books. That Twist and Shout yarn looks amazing 😍 if only it were a little more reasonably priced
My biggest problem with Finita is that it doesn’t hold up to wear super great. It’s low twist makes it pill like crazy and the Thread Sweater I’ve made has taken a hit with the three times I’ve worn it. :/
Looking to try yarn from We Are Knitters. I love your videos because you are a well of crochet and yarn knowledge. ICYMI: Lionbrand just dropped Re-spun.
Watching the video now and had to stop to check out the Dyak Black Nickel crochet hooks. I'm looking into purchasing a set for Tunisian projects. What sizes should I order? They seem to include a set of 4 but most sizes are sold out right now. So I'll wait. They look beautiful. Thanks for your help. Love your nails!
Because of the huge difference in yardage needed when crocheting, I will only use super-expensive yarn on a small crochet project. Who needs a $100 scarf era $300 afghan? Not me.
I just got home at 11 at night and I clicked this so fast I thought it said "We are Kittens" XD I want it all ugh but I can't cause I already got a sewing project underway and that be all my money lol.
You cannot crochet the tweed fuzzy by itself.... always use a base yarn...and the fuzzy effect still stays🌟😎 ...cotton...wool...bamboo is heavenly! Acrylic etc... Twisted shout... Worth it!!! But I spin my own Merino Wool

the amount of people that call yarn "wool" when it's acryllic, cotton, or anything but wool makes my eye twitch.
