A lot of horrible stupid decisions from the leadership on that op. Everyone needs to do more research on this story. A lot of lies .

The people involved in the rescue operation don’t know anything about the actual fight, the only people to know the real truth is the 4 navy seals. We won’t ever know if everything Marcus says is 100% true.
I heard them say Gulab will be on the show soon and I didn’t know if he meant Muhammad Gulab, they didn’t answer my question in the live chat because I didn’t give the bastards money 😂
@@jonathanvalle6582 dude, they answer a shit ton of regular, non paid questions. As someone who has participated in a Live before, its really hard to keep up with chat. On their last live, Brent said things had changed and Gulab backed out until he can get family out of Afghanistan for fear of retribution

To even say that Luttrell is "stretching the truth" is an insane understatement.
That much I know without a doubt. The only thing I wonder about is if he was possibly pressured to give a different "official" narrative by higher ups so the SEALs didn't look terrible. That's the best I can give him.
The Marines had already planned Red Wings and had already successfully nabbed multiple mid-high level targets by that point, for whatever reason SEALs ended up poaching it from them and they were switched to QRF. It made zero sense to give that mission to four SEALs, honestly. Especially when (If I remember correctly) those guys had never even done recon in Afghanistan prior to RW.
Ended up getting a lot of guys from the 160th killed too, even though this should've been a totally routine mission.
The whole situation is strange and bizzare in terms of OPs of that nature. They were literally inserted within a few hundred meters of the objective, which is absolutely insane. They did do several false inserts leading up to the OP but that just raised a huge red flag that said "There's definitely going to be an operation happening soon, heads on swivels.".
I've never been able to understand the logic behind that whole debacle. Same for Neptune Spear; but at least that made some amount of sense because I've heard those CAG guys say they refused it due to lack of actual, tangible intel regarding the OP. Always seemed weird that the SEALs had that one too, which has lead to nothing but controversy and "he said" BS in regards to certain people wanting to take credit.
At the end of the day Marcus is still a veteran. I believe he stayed with his brothers for as long as he could until it was legitimately stacked against them. Then maybe he did run because he knew death was coming, he was on the verge of death. He witnessed Danny and Mike die and the only other person alive was Axe who had a gsw to the head along with all of his other injuries. Hollywood exaggerated the living shit out of that movie, no doubt. However, just because the movie isn’t the same as what actually happened, that doesn’t make Marcus not a hero and not a veteran and most of all not a human who went through what he did. Rest in peace to all the men who died that day. Each and every one of them were heroes.

Regardless of all the negativity surrounding Marcus,Jocko and the other guys that have been labeled liarers lately. Hearing Marcus say that he was afraid and a crying mess is a man that has nothing to lie about. For the idiot Navy SEAL that said Jocko should be brought up on War Crimes and that Marcus Lutrell is a liar needs to listen to this podcast. Marcus isn't bullshiting about his experience. Nobody can tell me any different, Marcus Lutrell is a hero and I've never been more proud to be an American. Saying that he gave up on that mountain is just treason. Everyone reacts different in these situations and Marcus was alone, dying and his friends were all dead. Who cares if some of the details are not true. All that matters to me (Afghan combat veteran) is that Marcus put most of the spotlight on his brothers that were killed. I love that he got their story out to the public. He makes sure everyone knows they're heroes. Anyone that is taking shots at him but hasn't served needs to stfu and be grateful for the security and freedoms he helped give you
Oh, stfu. I also served in Afghan and neither that nor Iraq did a single thing to preserve our freedom and security. It radically undermined it, if anything. Look what happened to Assange simply for showing proof of what was happening over there, and the new laws they brought in to stop that. Look at the rise of ISIS and extremism around the world as a consequence of our actions. Look at how our special forces reputations from Aus, UK and US were destroyed by their own actions in murdering civilians. And now bozos like this guy make a fortune from lying to everyone because he agreed to put the spotlight on 'liberal media'. The story was propaganda because they need the next generation of naive young men to die for big business and Israeli interests.
