Lucas Oldaker Yes sir. The whole story is bs. The main inconsistency lies in his appearance. @Lucas Oldaker Marcus promised to bring the afgahni guy over to America but it was a group of lawyers and doctors who got together to save him and his family after hearing what he had done. Marcus was ignoring the guy after making the movie.
Marcus is a mans man. He wasn't a coward. He had a moment, then he picked his gun up and kept going forward. He won't see this comment, but in my humble opinion, this man and coward should never be uttered in the same sentence.

The part that really touched me about this story was the village who saved him. And they fought for this man, putting their own lives at risk because of an ancient code, and didn't let him die. That's something I can respect
This is one of the important things in our culture even if your enemy ask you to protect him you have to do it even if you will lose all your family your village or even your country! It’s Pashtun culture!

@@doomfathertm8771 The soldiers on ground and Marcus all say he only had 41 5.56 rounds left he had one full mag left probably one of the ones mike Murphy gave him. And he had 11 rounds in his rifle that’s the facts the man had like 20 wounds and almost died. On top of that Gulab wasn’t present in the extraction, qrf, or any part of the operation. Therefore he can not make any account of him having 11 magazines fully stocked.
Benjamin Gazdik He's suffering from post war traumatic syndrome. He's gone from blaming the commander to himself and who knows what then back to himself. His friend up there was helpless. There was no way for him to get up there and help him. Let's not forget he picked up one of his brothers and carried him. While had multiple broken bones and wounds.
Benjamin Gazdik The man who calls the shots in his platoon just took two rounds in the chest and his dead, he's begging Luttrell to save him, a fully equipped hospital couldn't save the guy. That'd be enough to make any man have a momentary nervous breakdown, especially when he's the only one left in his platoon and he's next. I hate cowards with a passion and he's not a coward.

They in fact heard the helicopter and easily tracked there location.
Pure towing the navy narrative. Read the after action report. It’s 👁 opening. He was found with his full compliment of 11 magazines full of ammo(facts not opinions). The last one that really was disheartening was the actual size of the enemy element (7-10), movie&book had it between 300-400 which directly goes against the ISR data released regarding troop concentration & size. I just want to see or read a complete description with real facts not Hollywood facts, the best stories are true stories.

Whats worst is people who think he is lying. If he is a coward why did he go to Iraq straight after. You guys should be thankful for men like the Navy SEALS are fighting for you. Be happy that they are protecting you and costing their lives for your freedom. How dare you judge them? I bet that at least 98.5 percent of all of you on here would not even dare to risk your lives for other people and protect them. I bet that you wouldent even go to war just to protect your family and friends. So why don't you just shut your fucking mouths and be happy that we have brave men fighting for us. Fighting for you
Your absolutely right, id sacrifice my life for any one of my Marine brothers because i know they wouldnt let my death be in vain, all these people on here judging him have no clue what its like or even means to defend one of your brothers
So you don't thank your family, wife, kids? I understand about God and I agree, You should be thankful for God, But I'm thankful for my family, and the military, Men and Women who are sacrificing their lives for us. That's something to be thankful for
All special forces operators are tough people mentally numb to do the job at hand but you can see this navy seal is a broken man and I hope he lives a pleasant life.
In the total context of events he is no coward. His nervous system was overloaded from seeing his team mates die, and his injuries, and to hear his dying best friend scream his name over and over was what caused him to cover his ears, as he could do nothing about it anyway. He could not have done anything about his death as by that time Murphy was already chest shot twice and taking more fire. Putting his rifle down and covering his ears is all he could do to block out the scenario. Any brain when overloaded with previous events, would do the same. You did your job, and more, operator Luttrell. Salute....
Your not a coward. Your human and snapped. You are one of the most incredible people and brave. Amen 👍 all of you are. Respect 🙏 to all who fight fir our freedom. Amen 👍 God bless ya'll 🙌

When bullets are flying over your head you go on auto pilot and are fighting under second nature. There was a few time when we would get ambushed and I would make it back I would think to myself “I could have died and I wouldn’t event know” I feel like that’s what he’s talking bout.
2:42 “most of the time we don’t know when we’re going to die, they just shut our light off, it’s a weird feeling when you know the reaper’s at the door” that gave me goosebumps and also got a little teary-eyed Thank all men and Women for their services but most of all their sacrifice, I can’t imagine some of the things they have seen that they don’t talk about
For him to be completely honest about “Putting his gun down in a gun fight, and covering his ears” …wow…Thats a brave thing to do just by saying that. Respect!!!!
Wow, Seals are amazing people. But Luttrell is no coward, he was certainly broken in two when he heard Murph call his name. Marcus couldn't have done a thing to save Mike. I love Marcus his honesty cuts right through. Having said that, Marcus my dear Brother in Arms your no coward buddy.
Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and humility, Mr. Luttrell. To be honest, I don't think you were a coward since no amount of training could have prepared you for your reaction when you put your weapon down and covered your ears. You're human just like the rest of us and I agree that every person has a breaking point. We thank you for protecting our freedoms and preserving our way of life which many Americans take for granted every day and I wish you all the best!
You're incorrect. In the combat footage you can hear Marcus Luttrell yelling to Michael, as he was making the sat phone call. "Michael, come back, Michael." "Michael, come back." And nearing the end of the footage, you can hear Axelson talking back to Luttrell, after an initial RPG blast. "What happened?" "Michael?" "Where at?" "We gotta get back" "where's michael?" In numerous interviews given, Marcus stated how he was standing up waiving his hands. How all he wanted was for Michael to come back down to him. Marcus also said Axe was still talking to him, before being separated by yet another RPG. Also, Marcus accurately described the wounds on his teammates. He said Dietz got shot through the head, as he was carrying him. In the combat footage, you can see the exit wound on Dietz's left cheek. He also said Murphy suffered a wound to the stomach, a busted face, and was coated in dust. All accurately described by Marcus. Also, Axelson was found by the locals and was buried. The GBs had to bribe them by building generators, paving roads, and bringing livestock so they would reveal the position of Axe. One of the GBs, Travis Osborn said on the team never quit podcast "he had 1 mag in his kit, and 11 rounds in the mag in his gun." There's also a portion in the combat footage where you can hear a deep Texan tone yell "I'm hit" before a suppressed gunshot. Overall, do some
@@OperationRedWingsarchive don't you ever get tired of the keyboard warriors who accuse Luttrell of being a coward when the man had multiple shrapnel and gunshot wounds, broken back along with TBI from RPG blast? It drives me crazy!

conor27 There's a difference between ordinary war and what they went trough. They were four guys in the middle of nowhere. In a normal situation, you've got 10's if not 100's of armed buddies beside ya.
To those who aren’t aware, he showed the world, on National Television, what humid humility is not cowardice. If you ever look at the, “Trident,” every Navy SEAL earned and wears, on most of their Navy uniforms, you’ll notice the Eagle, with it’s head tilted down; this is to convey humility.
Marcus and Anderson Cooper should never be allowed to be in the same room together. Anderson is not worthy to even be allowed to talk to this badass and heroic American
Marcus, you are no coward. You were in an impossible situation doing an insanely difficult job. The fact that shut down while a loved one was dying and calling for you while being powerless to help him , was likely involuntary. you are a hero , yeah you broke, there is no fault I. That.…. but you didn’t fail, God wanted you to make it, or you wouldn’t have. Thank you for your service. God bless you….
"it's a weird feeling when you know the reaper's at the door" This dude is a legend, and a brave warrior. I could hear him talk for hours. But I wish he never experienced what he had that day
Marcus, you are not a coward, everyone has a breaking point just like you said. You served your country well, i think its time you let go and cherish the time you have now. Your fallen brothers would want that for you, to move on...u know that
hearing these words from a hero no one alike, is really something. you aint a coward, bro, you are human, and every human break at some point, its just nature, but you held it through all that way, now that is called dedication. rest in peace to your brothers who lost their life that day
Half truth. Marcus left out the part where he ran away, never fired his weapon and lied about 80 to 200 Taliban. It was 8 to 10 Taliban and they filmed the attack on the seals
I was almost beaten to death once. I found my breaking point when I had 13 fractures in my head. I knew I was going to die. Nothing I had to do was like what Marcus and his brothers have been through. I expected to die during that attack but I didn't have to think about staying alive to help the people I cared about the most in the world. I've been the first person on two deadly accidents and it's awful to see someone die. To see someone's wife drive up, and see the expression on the medics face and to hear her scream. It's awful. I can tell Marcus has dealt with something so much more. Something we ask our best to deal with and something that it so heavy, it is beyond words. I work in San Diego and we have programs to bring special operators into commercial real estate. They tend to lose interest pretty quick as this stuff is incredibly boring compared to what they're used to. That being said, if you would like any type of mentoring regarding the financial services world, I'd be happy to spend my time with you. Michael.

Everyday these guys go out fearless to eradicate evil, gather intel, or other important missions. Some we hear about, some we don't. Some stories will never be told... They give the ultimate sacrifice, so I can sit on my fat ass and watch tv, sleep a night, goto work, have a life... I am Danish (Denmark), and though I've never served - I know many that have. Lucas Oldaker Yes sir. The whole story is bs. The main inconsistency lies in his appearance. Remember all the things he said happened to his face when he fell off a cliff; how he bit off half his tongue, how his nose was shoved in , how he had facial lacerations. All lies. Read this article. Look at the July 2005 photo of him in Golabs village. Not a scratch on his face. He largely exaggerated the number of taliban and so much more. Look at this and LMK what u think. ijr.com/lone-survivor-marcus-luttrell-is-being-challenged-over-his-story-by-the-afghan-who-saved-his-life/
@Lucas Oldaker Marcus promised to bring the afgahni guy over to America but it was a group of lawyers and doctors who got together to save him and his family after hearing what he had done. Marcus was ignoring the guy after making the movie.
He is a coward
All these men are great people they fought and died for our freedom this is the definition of heroes god bless them all
Right
i agree
Exactly
Brum Tastic your countrie has no reason to be there! your freedom!
They died for greed and power not our freedom.
Marcus is a mans man. He wasn't a coward. He had a moment, then he picked his gun up and kept going forward. He won't see this comment, but in my humble opinion, this man and coward should never be uttered in the same sentence.
J morgan Agreed!!!
Agreed he shouldn't even think like that there was nothing he could have done if would have tried to save him he would have been out numbered and he would have been in the position as the other guy and been dead
Actually he is the leader of cowards and a pathetic liar
11 mags, not one shot fired.
@@BrockTheTrainer That op was heading for a failure before it even began due to how badly it was planned. Returning with 11 full mags and writing those books on top of it...

@@usernate5995 nope not lying about this one, plus why tf would I want to lie about this?
The part that really touched me about this story was the village who saved him. And they fought for this man, putting their own lives at risk because of an ancient code, and didn't let him die. That's something I can respect
Unbelievable that is no words at all there’s nothing in the dictionary that can describe how amazing that is omg unbelievable!!!!
called belief,honor,integrity,courage.
This is one of the important things in our culture even if your enemy ask you to protect him you have to do it even if you will lose all your family your village or even your country! It’s Pashtun culture!
This man is FAR from a "coward". He has MORE than established himself as a warrior to both his team and his enemies. I admire his modesty and candidness.
Interviews like these really help portray just what these guys go through for there country.
No "here" country
It really makes you a Human, with emotions. You shud never think you are a coward. You are a awesome man and literally fought for your Brother’s in a Battle!!! I’m praying for you and all the Men and Women who give so freely to protect this Country. God Bless !!!
If this man's a coward then there's no such thing as bravery
ikr, Some peopel in the comments were calling him a coward.
I haven't cried a tear in over 2 years since my brother was murdered but this video has me balling like a baby. I can't imagine someone yelling my name for me to help them and not being able to... Such intense pain that must be and my heart breaks for Marcus. Words can't describe...
Idk if you can see this because it was 7 years ago but sorry for your loss
This is the definition of a savage
That man is a true hero
Don’t best yourself up bro, you’re one in a million! Thank you for your service
Young man you are no coward. My thoughts and prayers are with you. My blessing and thanks for your bravery and service.
This man is incredible. The pain to have to watch all of your friend's die is just horrible.
He's a coward who ran off and left his mates to die
Don't believe anything this test says.
He ran off with all his ammo fully stocked, didn't fire a single round
@@Tom-yu1fc also they didn’t fight off hundreds of taliban like the movie showed. Maybe 10-15 militiamen and a very well placed ambush
I believe the locals, they had no reason to lie@@ghostythe117
Damn, that must have took a lot for him to say that. Respect.
isn't it amazing how a man can go through this and still come out and say hes a coward?
No you are not a coward, there was nothing you could do!
Benjamin Gazdik
He's suffering from post war traumatic syndrome. He's gone from blaming the commander to himself and who knows what then back to himself.
His friend up there was helpless. There was no way for him to get up there and help him.
Let's not forget he picked up one of his brothers and carried him. While had multiple broken bones and wounds.
THEKINGOFBULLDOGS
I bet Benjamin's a brave soldier who saw combat a hundred times. He's brave.
Benjamin Gazdik
The man who calls the shots in his platoon just took two rounds in the chest and his dead, he's begging Luttrell to save him, a fully equipped hospital couldn't save the guy. That'd be enough to make any man have a momentary nervous breakdown, especially when he's the only one left in his platoon and he's next. I hate cowards with a passion and he's not a coward.
He clearly had to go through the emotional torture. There was nothing he could do with any logic to it. Thats not cowerdise, highly trained but still human.
He's not a coward but he can't help but to blame himself
Truth is all coming out about this Marcus, Jocko, and Chris!
I broke down crying when I heard him speak....God Bless him.

@@DJUwU I know the whole story..it has fascinated me for years. I read what you said wrong..only thing that is inaccurate with what you said was that they didnt do a halo. They fast roped in at 10k feet and had to walk up to 12k where they came across the goat herders..however, they later found out that it wasnt the goat herders that told the taliban. They in fact heard the helicopter and easily tracked there location.

Pure honesty
Exactly!
I just want to see or read a complete description with real facts not Hollywood facts, the best stories are true stories.
joe Doe dude there were 50 talis they killed 30 Murphy gave him his ammunition
@@Make-Asylums-Great-Again To be completely fair they were outnumbered and outgunned and ultimately cornered with no where to go but down the hill. Unfortunately, Seals aren't bulletproof. However I have heard the magazine story and I've heard footage of the real firefight and someone had translated that Luttrell had ran off but I'm unsure about this.
Anton Chigurh it never stated 300-400. It’s was between 80-150
Much respect for Marcus, he’s been through a lot defending our country and losing friends in the face of danger, thank you for your service all of you 🙏🇺🇸
I can't imagine the survivors guilt this guy feels on a daily basis. Respect to you Luttrell
Whats worst is people who think he is lying. If he is a coward why did he go to Iraq straight after. People are pathetic same way they call Chris Kyle a murderer saying he shot looters which I don't think is even anything confirmed and if it was, why are people making a big deal about people who are stealing people stuff after a hurricane those people deserve to get shot
@@eznf98 The many conflicting statements by other members of the rescue mission and in official reports on the ORW mission do raise questions. I feel so awfully sorry for this man, what he must suffer on a day to day basis as a result of that day must be hard to ever comprehend. A true hero.
I can't believe what he's been through 😢 Makes me cry when I hear him talk about that mission. I wish I could have been there to help them in some way. I hope mr Luttrell finds peace knowing he did 1000 times more than any other human could ever had done.
I'm incomplete aww of this man for who he is and what he's done. Thank you ALL for your fight for our country ❤
You will never be a coward bro!!! The gunfight was insane and they did their best that's all you can ask for much respect and love for the SEALS!!
You are not a coward. You are being truthful. I know alot of people that make up stories for heroism.
He is so broken, Marcus I pray that you can regain your happiness love, and everything
Fighting for you
irony right there
Your absolutely right, id sacrifice my life for any one of my Marine brothers because i know they wouldnt let my death be in vain, all these people on here judging him have no clue what its like or even means to defend one of your brothers
U man shut up I only thank God
So you don't thank your family, wife, kids? I understand about God and I agree, You should be thankful for God, But I'm thankful for my family, and the military, Men and Women who are sacrificing their lives for us. That's something to be thankful for

Dude youre one of the most badass dudes to have lived on this earth.... finding your breaking point doesnt make you a coward... it makes you human
A humble and brutally honest warrior. Sadly, he'll hear Murphy screaming his name for the rest of his life. Wish this dude nothing but peace.
All special forces operators are tough people mentally numb to do the job at hand but you can see this navy seal is a broken man and I hope he lives a pleasant life.
He has 100% of my respect, much love for all military members

That’s what a hero looks like kids.
You're not a coward... the time was just not right.... you're a legend
But truth is, he ran. Never fired a shot.

Just because your tough and can make it through BUDs doesn't mean you won't break down when you hear your best friend dying. I believe that Marcus is a great guy and he did the best he could, but in all honesty, nothing can prepare you for war.
conor27 There's a difference between ordinary war and what they went trough. They were four guys in the middle of nowhere. In a normal situation, you've got 10's if not 100's of armed buddies beside ya.

I actually saw the movie before this, this is actually insane realizing that this was more intense then I though much respect
Except the part where he never fired his weapon, ran away from less than 12 Taliban while his team got smoked

God bless him and all his team members. Their families too. ❤️🙏🏻♾
This is the only time he told the Truth!
