Nice Guitars, singing, and playing, and also a very good presentation of the spec, well done all round.

Great review, singing, and playing. Really enjoyed it. I'm thinking of buying a 614CE and this was a big help. Thanks!

I noticed that hardly anybody ever demos Taylors plugged in.

I like your song man! I was wondering if you guys have a guitar exactly to the "T" like this......(Taylor 816ce wc 2012 gs ae ctwy solid spruce top rw b&s)? This is the style guitar I want but I haven't seen it in a while. It was also $2,999 so yea, any info will help. Thnks!

What the heck is big leaf maple? I didn't know leaves were involved in the building of a guitar.

Anyone who says Taylors suck, is an idiot. Anyone who leaves negative shit about a guy who is trying to demo 2 stunning guitars, is an idiot. Well done demonstration. Cheers

While both are older models, the 614 was clearer and cleaner on finger picking while he 814 had more body and presence with strumming.

I have a Taylor 810CE so I'm biased towards the sound of the 800 series.

Thank you very much for the comparison , an A/B test is worth 10.000 articles or opinions! my 2 cents:maple competes for the Hz with the human voice!rosewood(814ce) sounds better ( to me! ) , like he has a whole band , and complements his voice!

any difference in a taylor 614ce and a dn6e? tone? sustain?

I think the 614ce definitely shined in the fingerstyle while the 814ce was a better strummer.

Having owned a Seagull and an 814ce... I can tell you the Taylor is a major upgrade. Keep in mind this is just a recording.

I think the 614 has a way more balanced tone here. The 814 is just too boomie (in this recording anyway).
I guess that's why the 614 is used in the studio over the 814.

    What model is this? 2011?

@Xminor79 - The only kind of people who talk down on Taylors and Martins are people who don't have 3,000 to spend on one, or have the balls to spend it.
When money isn't a deciding factor, it is EASY to recognize the brilliance and quality in these instruments.

Ha. Maple always seems happier than rosewood.

Why would you sing on a guitar demo?

please don't ever put a capo on a guitar that you're doing a demo of? the guitar is meant to have the best resonance when it's perfectly in tune...
