My friend and I decided to give this a go! Problem is I only moved in to my new home last week and my entire craft room is in boxes, I did label the boxes but I cannot find anything that I actually need yet 😮there is definitely something to be said for limited supplies. Thanks for this video, I’ll make a start lol xxx💕
Relatable except most of my craft stuff is now in a storage locker about 200 miles away as there was no space to rent one anywhere near our new home! lol I threatened my hubby I’d need to buy more! lol
No problem just use up your packing materials. And go spen ten dollars at the Dollar Tree. You can do it! 😉
I love pink. I have been wanting to do a neutral journal. Pale pinks, white, vellum, and buff color. I wanted to do a November journal, but didn’t have time, so I might do it now. I might finish my December journal, hmmmmmmmm, decisions decisions. lol. This video is so helpful. Hugs, treen 💕💕💕💕
Sounds gorgeous!
I’m doing JJ January for the first time this year. I’m wanting to learn more about collage and I think this will help. I love that you’re putting a box together of items to use. Boy will that make it easier. Thanks 💕
This is my first time participating in the Junk Journal January challenge. I'm creating a container to store my die cuts, fussy cuts, inks, scissors, and other ephemera. I'm making my journal pages in advance so that I can just start to decorate them with each prompt. New subbie here. Thanks for this fun challenge.
I am so looking forward to this! It will be my first ever junk journal challenge by YT creators AND my first "true" art journal. Thanks to all of you and let the fun begin! :) -Kathryn
Ah that's so exciting!!
What a great idea to do this! I will add gesso and a couple paint brushes, as well as gold wax, and a small spray bottle of water and a few oxide sprays
I can't wait!!❤
Very helpful Meg. I know which basket I will use. I’m so excited for January.
I love all your suggestions, and a prep box is a very good organization tip. I'm always looking for everything at the last minute
I definitely need to do this before any project. I allow myself to get overwhelmed with too much stuff and than I’m unable to create😂
Thank you so much. I adore your videos.
❤❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing your ideas
Love the JJJ Kit idea, Meg!! TFS xoxo
Fabulous idea - love it!
I moved my craft room recently and downsized space so I am already organized ready to go. Excited for January !
That is a great ideal thanks for sharing 😊
thank you for sharing your kit, that is very helpful. i feel overwhelmed with too many choices so it will be nice to narrow the selection a bit!
Love this! Except for the larger items like paints, glue and staplers, this looks very much like my travel kit which I store in a zip pouch. 🩶🧡🩷💛🩵♥️🤍💚💜💙🖤
This was so helpful. Full of ideas and thought processes that really gave me some focus. Thank you for this and all you're doing for JJJ. Oh yeah, and is there a video where you show using coffee dying and acrylic paint That sounds like something I need to try.
I have finally set up my desk with all my main things in arms reach, I know ill be using a lot of fussy cuts, digital ephemera as well as vintage items like stamps and tabs and tickets. I will probably also add beads and buttons along with other things. Thank you for the wonderful ideas.
I'll be prepping on Saturday..I think.ill have to do a few at a time as I have several other projects going on. I think it will be fun.
Looking forward to the challenge!
Love it
I loved your voice!
I just went to a art scrap store so I will start my January Junk Journal tomorrow
My colors are pink and peach
I love my stapler and also rolling up scotch tape. They make colored staples as well.
OOh that sounds fun, I'll have to keep an eye out!
Great ideas❤
I was gifted some large thick zip lock pouches. Pages 9x12 fit in the pouch. When I found 2 books I wanted to have a specific theme, I put each book in the pouch, then went through stuff. Any Ephemera matching the theme goes in the pouch.
Those are the makings of a beautiful journal. It's a great kit, and a good idea to make a kit... I don't know if I'm gonna make a kit, or just gather stuff for each prompt as I come to create the page... but.... I probably SHOULD make a kit, because like. you said, I'll probably waste a lot of time searching for certain elements... hmmm.
I have been getting supplies at my local thrift and now have over 40 Washi tapes to incorporate into this years journal!
Brilliant! I'm in! 🙌🏼 I have so many art supplies etc and I really want to use them more. This is the perfect opportunity.
As a traditional embroiderer, I can say 2 things about using embroidery threads in your journal:
1) Sounds like a fun, creative addition, so use 'em however you like; and
2) They don't look to me like an expensive, premium brand, so, even if you didn't have the right to use your own supplies 100% as you want to, they wouldn't be “wasted”. 👍🏻
Thank you! You never know with the internet lols
I’m overwhelmed already 😂
Dictionary pages and maps
Always a great paper to use!
I might use some lined papers to create writing space, and I know I want to play with my watercolor pencils. I'm not sure what else.
Ooh that sounds fun!!
This is so smart. I didn’t do it for JJJ, but I’m going to do it for February. Wouldn’t it be cool to change things out with each new month!?
I keep starting these in July and January but I just cannot seem to finish one. I did one December daily the whole way, so maybe there is hope for me.
🧚🏻♀️Thanks for doing this video Meg! It’s my first time for JJJan so now I will start putting all my essentials in a basket too! What size is the journal you made? I watched that video and forgot to make a note.😂
Yay! Roughly 17 x 11 cm, give or take - though I didn't measure it when I made it haha
This is great fun
Need: words & phrases 🤓
Setting up a kit - what a great idea! I’m on it!!
I’d like to include some PET stickers in mine. Can you please recommend a UK supplier, Meg?
Yay! Miso Paper always have a great selection ☺️
looks like you are ready to roll!
I am!💃
What do you material hold your washi samples on wax paper, ?parchment?I love the sample idea…I have so many. I would also like to see how you use your washi
Just scrapbook paper :)
What a great idea! Would you mind sharing if your sticker/rub-ons little pink book came with all the stickers or did you put them all in yourself? ☺
They cam separately - they are by a brand called MU
Have to have my washi...
Me too!
Coffee dye your floral page.
Great idea!!
