    Thank you, this was a fun lesson. Someone gave me a ring mandrel in the 1970s that had the groove in it. Up until seeing this video I was always irritated by that groove. Now that you have shown me a couple reasons to appreciate the groove I am happy I have this type of mandrel now.

    Great tutorial the only problem is I have three ring mandrels and none of them are designed like the one you have. Would you be able to do this tutorial on the ring manual that does not have the grooves in it. Please and thank you🙏

    I just found your tutorials and I love the wire wrapping you do. You make it look so easy to do. I do have one question though. What is the purpose of hammering the ring? Is it to strengthen it? Just curious.

    • @Wirewrap
      @Wirewrap  Год назад

      I hammer it around the ring mandrel to shape it. You have to use a rubber mallet or a raw hide one.... not metal.

    • @jeanettatownsend6807
      @jeanettatownsend6807 Год назад

      @Wirewrap thank you for the information. I have a rubber mallet that I bought some time ago, but never used.

    Have you seen the show nailed it? This was my experience 🤣I think the wire was too thin and I was makeshifting for the mandrel. I cut 2 ft but seemed to not have enough wire and the holes showed. Buying a grooved mandrel and more wire!

  • @jemartins6373

    I love this ring...however I think its a little heavy on the wire wrap volume for my taste. Can this ring be just as good with less wire wraps?

    • @Wirewrap

      Most craft stores, at least in the United States, sell strings of beads or gemstones with a hole in it.

    Can you tell me what wire you're using? The brand or where you got it? Thanks!

    • @Wirewrap
      @Wirewrap  Год назад +2

      It really depends on what kind of wire you want to use. If I'm practicing I like to use my silver plated wire. That's usually the wire I use for my videos as well. Www.parawire.com Is where I will buy either my silver filled wire, Copper and brass.. They have a ton of options there.
      If I'm making the rings to sell, I like to use solid Sterling silver or gold filled. My supplier was www.riogrande.com

      @@Wirewrap thank you so much!

    • @Wirewrap
      @Wirewrap  Год назад

      I always use 20 gauge wire for the wire wrapped rings though. Usually 18 gauge is too big of a wire for the holes in most beads.
