  • Playing Halo Infinite on the original Xbox One in 2022... Is it a viable option for players to get into Halo Infinite at a lower cost of entry? Today we play some Halo Infinite on the original Xbox One for BtB multiplayer and compare it to PC Halo Infinite impressions. It's pretty crazy that a console that was released in 2013 is still being supported and can play with both PC and newer Xbox console players. While it certainly isn't the optimal way to play Infinite, you can definitely hop in and play and have fun, just know however that there are some drawbacks that impact the experience. Thanks for watching!

      I'm gonna go on a tangent with what you said about how lucky gamers are with live service console gaming.
      I hear a common tone of, frankly justifiable, criticism about live service gaming due to the "ship it then patch it" approach dev's are using. Once this model gets smoothed over and complete games are available at launch, battlefield and CoD I'm definitely looking your way, we are in for an interesting period of gaming. Since last year was definitely a strange year for AAA shooters I tend to err on the side of optimism and am hoping this year is the year of correcting problems and not focusing on.those microtransactions.... let's hope

    • @BBKDRAGOON
      @BBKDRAGOON  2 года назад +7

      @@ieatpaste8360 Let's be clear, I did not say gamers are lucky because of live service, I said at 03:11 : "If I was in like my college years right now getting to experience what gamers are getting to experience… you've got tons of amazing free to play titles first of all, then you have game pass, and then on top of it you have the support for console generations much longer than what i've been previously used to… And all that goes to say you can get into halo infinite at a pretty low cost entry point and yeah this is totally a fine way an introductory way to play some halo infinite… it's not amazing"
      I'm not praising live service, I'm showing enthusiasm towards the fact that players can pick up an older console for $140 on ebay, and play a pretty huge library of games for not the same entry point prices that I was paying back in my college days. I have a LOT of frustrations with the negative impacts live service has on the launch state of games.

    I said it back in 2017 when Xbox announced the "end of console generations" and I'll say it every time a game like this drops: Games should maintain compatibility with the Xbox One X for a little while, but anything older should just be set up to stream it, not games being made to still be playable on it.

I ended up having a blast, and now that I play it on a newer PC I can confidently say that casual play is viable on the Xbox One and you can pull positive, half-decent scores on it as well. So I played primarily on the og Xbox one when the game first released. Overall it performed really well considering the hardware. I still wanted an upgrade and found a really good deal on marketplace for a One X, so I gave my old console to my younger sister and got the one x console. There was a SIGNIFICANT difference in gameplay and frame rate but I still had choppy animations in big team battle (not a deal breaker just an observation). However I have a really good relationship with some people I know who own a video game store and they were getting a in series X and I really wanted it. The only issue was the Bluetooth connector inside the console is disconnected so I have to get it repaired, but I got the series X for a phenomenal deal after a discount and trading in the recent One X I received. I’m actually said to say that I preferred the versatility of the one x. Not only did bluetooth work and could connect multiple controllers, I really didn’t see a significant difference after the second upgrade. Not only that, because the bluetooth is disconnected and the clunkiness of the console I can’t really carry it anywhere without putting in the extra effort. In hindsight, I honestly wish I would’ve kept my One X for the time being. I still like my upgrade to the series X and I’ll hang on to it and get the Bluetooth fixed, but I definitely preferred the performance and versatility of the One X

    I only have an xbox one s, and have yet to play on any other hardware. Btb framerate drop, motion tracker accuracy and hit registration is consistently an issue for me, plus desync and latency can make the game borderline unplayable esp during peak hours. Besides the usual being killed behind cover and .2 second ttk turrets, Ive had sticky grenades fail to detonate, drop walls fail to deploy, rockets travel slowly and have tiny blast radius, and a ghost that could tank a skewer shot. Don't know how much is due to the older hardware, netcode or my connection(ping always 20 at the start of a match, usually never gets to triple digits unless packet loss), but I still play as often as I can.

    I can pub stomp on this game on an Xbox one s, but competitively where people are strafing a ton it gets rough. The strafe speed is already super fast, but on 30fps it makes it seem like the speed of light. All in all it’s ok for a console this old. Probably gonna switch to my pc with an RX 570 8gb once the game crashing issues and optimization gets better. Because the game on PC needs a lot of work still imo.

    So, I have an xbox one I bought from my cousin like 2 years ago, and a year ago bought a PC that though more powerful than any PC i'd had before, is far from a powerhouse. Based on performance in Halo MCC, Skyrim, and Fallout 4, I figure this PC is roughly even with the Xbox one in terms a performance, if not slightly better. But it cannot handle Halo Infinite. The game is technically playable, but there's so much jitter in the framerate it's impossible to compete in multiplayer, and in the campaign that jitter even translated to the audio (nevermind that I also couldn't hear enemies at all outside of cutscenes, and two times the game crashed my audio drivers completely in the 2 days I was actually playing). So due to all that, the initial experience was not enjoyable and I deleted the game. I've been thinking about trying it on my xbox to at least experience the full campaign.

    We as a community need to stop supporting ranked play at different frame rates. PC has made console play useless. I can’t cross map laser because I’m capped on a series s.

      Strongly disagree here as well. Plenty of people playing on PC with little no issues and have great gameplay overall. Sounds like you need to check your PC setup and/or update drivers or other various settings.

    I mean I still had an Xbox one I don’t own an Xbox One S or whatever and halo infinite works just fine to me. Though weirdly I’ve been encountering more bugs lately (in halo) online. I can’t even START UP infinite on computer… besides I don’t want MORE excuses to explain away “Ah that’s why I suck at this”

    entertaining video due to all the real word problems with halo infinite. 343 has killed all hope for the next Gen halo we all wanted seeing it run on old hardware is interesting because its still not far from xsx overall halo has fallen off because 343 was not ready for the brand..
