The texture is beautiful. I like that you explain how the nodes individually contribute to the final result at the end. Gives an overview to me rather than just follow blindly and didn't know what happened.
10 yrs of blendering and im still always learning , realy good i love the isolation of the edge, im going to plug your whole node setup here into bevel node and see whare this goes, rusted beatup edges , good tut thangoo
Brilliant. Great texture. I tried creating a texture like that on my own before watching the tutorial, but came quite a bit short (not terrible, but not very good, either), so this tutorial is truly useful. Later, I tried again on my own and came closer, but no cigar. Finally, I did the tutorial to get things right and, for me, the main "trick" was the right adjustment of the color ramps with the 3 tones of black-grey-white. Thanks for this very useful tutorial.
Thank you so much for your awesome tutorials, it's really helped me understand a lot more about nodes and creating my own materials! I was just wondering if there was a way to connect an image texture to where the paint would be? I love how this shader looks but I'm still fairly new to Blender and I want to use it to create a wallpaper peeling effect, I'm just not sure if this is possible to do with this setup
Glad that you like the tutorials and that they are helping you. With regard to your question, I believe that this might be possible. I think however that you might need to use two Principled BSDF nodes and use part of the texture as a mask with a mix shader to create the peeled effect. I will add it to the list to do a future video.
it is usefull for those who just copy rather understand it if you add nodes one by one and show us each node preview it would more than helpfull hope you do that in you upcoming tutorials looking forword for this channel otherwise the final result is tremendous
I have done that in many of my videos so hopefully you'll get a better idea when watching the others. Also, I am starting to add this in to more of my updated videos.
@@blenderbitesize thank you for your response it means alot i probably watch the entire playlist which contains procedural material tutorials there is one
hello, first things first this is an amazing tutorial, second if you can help me on how to mix it with wood texture to make a peeling effect to wood, i am really very bad at textures and don't understand most of it
@@blenderbitesize Yeah, it’s definitely hard enough keeping up with updates when one’s NOT making incredible RUclips tutorials, and keeping track with past videos 😊 Thank you for your amazing content, FYI. It’s definitely helped me out a TON with my projects!!

Thank you. Glad you found the video useful.
This is the most realistic I have found, not too complicated, easy to adjust and well explained.
Thank you for those kind words.

Nice tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!
"Mix RGB" is now "Mix Color", for those who don't know :)
There are a number of changes that came in from v 3.5 which I'm trying to cover in newer tutorials but the pace of change seems to have sped up.

I tried to get this to work on a wall and couldnt get it to look realistic
What version of Blender and which render engine are you using?
@@blenderbitesize 3.6 I think since Im a beginner I'm better working with image textures for now
