    Was the '52 re-topped?.
It looks like a one piece birds-eye top, just beautiful and the things it must've played!.

No its a very early '52 Goldtop. The very first Les Pauls had center-seam tops like this one... so it is the original top.... no re-top. Thanks for watching.

I had no idea the first examples had center seam tops?.
What a sound you got with the two together, would be amazing to hear you two play some Peter Green-Danny Kirwin stuff with them!.
      Great content!.

I have a all gold 52 with original parts and P90's. I have been on the fence a thousand times about converting it to 57 specs. But the P90's sound AMAZING and I cannot afford PAF's so I would be putting in boutique options. Mine had a gnarly headstock repair that was done in the 1970's. Its solid but I wouldnt be sacrificing a pristine example which is why I am constantly debating it.

OH GOD PLEASE DONT CONTVERT IT!!
      Nice guitar BTW.
You could for example just order a custom order Les Paul from Gibson and it will be Mathematically precise with the exact specs you like.

Did the 52 have a have a neck reset when changing it over to the stoptail and ABR1? I know that the reason for the wrap-under trapeze was due to the neck angle..and I have heard that you had to have the neck reset when converting any of the 52s. .Though..I could be wrong.. It has been a while.

Great guitar histories. Dad - trim your string ends, you'll poke an eye out! 😂

How did you get past the flat neck angel? Is the ABR shaved?

I own the real thing and these never look anything like the real deal. But more importantly they never sound as good either. Don't fall for these bullshit artists. Save your money and get the real thing

I like the original 1957-59’s too ! Not a good idea to bring them out giging in a band, too big of a risk.

Sure, just save $300k and buy the real thing!

So a Gibson guitar built at the same time and place doesn't look like a Gibson guitar because it's not the way it left the factory but it's exactly the same?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,got it. Hahahahahahaha
