It’s the best lap guitar ever when you put it the right and logical way, I never understood why people have to be so dense about this.
He was the king of Alberts
Usea strap
Badass!
🙌🎤🎸
First saw one of these in the 60"s when I saw Lonnie Mack. Great blues/rock and special sound he had playing through a Leslie. Keep digging into these great guitar years. Thanks
Yea the tone was amazing ! And yes we’ll keep making them ! A lot more guitars to talk about
Jimmy Reed wrote songs that were so similar to one and other, it seemed wrong, but they were so good, they were almost impossible to dislike!
He had a signature groove that was amazing !!
Hey Mike, that Explorer with those DiMarzio pickups looks absolutely lethal!
That Explorer sounds awesome ! I should make a little video playing it. The tone is amazing
One of Keef’s favorites!
Jimmy Reed !
Greg Koch is a monster
Yes ! He is amazing, was an honor to play with him !
I’m not sure what’s wrong with these guys, maybe they like a lot of herb
Beautiful
Jeeze... dress for the gig..
He was NOT an original member !!!
He was NOT an original member !!!!
i got this very same Gibson guitar from AliExpress for $249
Looks like it has a gold top! Beautiful wood!
Unless you are handicapped you use a strap and play standing. I rarely play seated when practicing. The problem is the flying v is so big you need a custom case.
I was never a fan of playing sitting down. I always practiced standing up because you're always going to play gigs standing up
Horrible guitars 😂
Teles and Les Pauls are not subject to this issue consequently they each sell 100/1 over flying Vs.
Amazing! Finally a video on how much these guitars actually suck in the real world. Thanks
Most underrated guitar ever. After playing Strats and bucker Pauls forever I just snagged one of these and realized how sick it is. So versatile
I'm surprised the Flying V was introduced in the 1950s? I've always associated it with the 1980s.
the Ovation....of electric guitars
Locking it in your legs works great, when I have my V sitting it is at the exact angle and height as it is ehen I'm standing with a strap. Most guitars have too much wood at the back for that position to be comfortable (except like strandbergs and maybe evh wolfgangs, I haven't been able to try either) but the V does a pretty good job. And it looks cool as hell
Gorgeous guitar. Yes, late '60s, early '70s. We had the Gibson dealership in the early '70s and I remember this in the price list.
That’s awesome ! They have such an amazing tone
Maybe it's the prototype for the Legrand?
That’s a possibility !
Likely built by Aaron Cowles and a few other ex Gibson Kalamazoo employees in the early 80’s. There is an interesting story that goes with a handful of Citations built during that time….
@@Thunderer45 Aaron's works for Heritage are among my fretted treasures. Was at his Shop now run by his Son Steve this past August. He was a lovely guy.
@@wildbilldurkin1493 He was a gifted man, I played a few guitars he did the majority of building on, including 2 Citations. They were superb in all respects.
never had a strat or lp style, just V's Z's and bc rich beast which sits like a V or Z when seated. also screw gibson. 🍻
metal was not invented yet. thats why. 🍻
I would put sandpaper instead of that rubber strip...
Yawn 😮💨🥱
It isn't hard to hold if you know how to PROPERLY hold a guitar...
Wow not as good as it used to be... wheres the Epiphones? Sick of seeing Gibson no one wants Gibson anymore ever since JC Curliegh Restored Epiphone back to premium brand in 2019/2020.. anyway I won't be going again..
How manny Jazzmaster 1958 are made you think ?
that is not a les paul.
@@PurpleDoge_ yes it is. Before he took the name off it. Then after that the design are knows as SG
The Philly Guitar Show used to be SO MUCH BETTER. Not now. Just guitars that are extremely expensive. Nowhere near the number of vendors there used to be. Not worth the trip from NJ. The last several I went to were similar. Won't be back.
I'm in awe.
he sounds like a plumber that owns an rv
Absolutely fantastic have a great weekend Mike and also I will watch the video have a happy holiday season from Canada ❤😊🇺🇸🇨🇦🎄🌲❄🎸
what a kickass video
Thanks so much !!!
2:50: Did that old fool really suggest that Gretsch "sued" Fender over the Broadkaster/Broadcaster name? Will someone please tell him to stop spreading misinformation?
No, he didn't.
That’s wicked cool.
They sounded awful to me the Eagles guitarist make the guitar sound great.
that's a 52 reissue
The world wasn’t ready for them.
Gotta love Steve marriot
I was there wish i knew to swing by and say hi, was a really great show! My favorite from your stable is the Epi flattop, but you cant deny the 54 steat, Broadcaster and natural ES-335!
One word. Luigi.
That's Not Authentic.. Gibson burns the numbers into the back of the "Head-stock." They didn't "Stamp" ink numbers on them. Also the wiring would be made from cloth. The caps would be the bumble bee, paper in oil caps. The original Grover tuner's would have had the "Grover" name engraved into the tuners. This looks to be a very well made Chibson. It's most likely one of the "Law suit" guitars made from the early to mid 70's. Still a Chibson worthy of $1000.00 But again, that's "Not" a 1958' Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan guitar.
All wrong on being hard to play. Mine is my easiest to play, standing up.
