Even so, there should still be some sort of progress. Regardless, if Butch says he's going to deliver a streaming service, thus, he should be well-versed in what it takes to create one. When you invest your money in something, you want your end product.
Those multi-billion dollar companies can certainly make a good streaming service and do it right. But the thing is, they don't have to. They rely on exclusives to get people to use their services. Why waste money including extra features that the consumers would appreciate when they would come anyway just to watch Game of Thrones?

What if I don't have internet available? I have an NES and a Famicom (...long story), but I use my NES Mini much more than either of those lately. Can I expect a way to add an offline version of Oaxis via Hakchi?
I thought the shitty argument for this is about how he "can't criticise Butch without criticising Mr. Enter". Though I guess you don't see those comments anymore after people started backing off of Enter after he started calling people out by name as well as Enter himself still trying to make Growing Around happen.
Just gonna do a quick analysis of the Oaxis sizzle reel because I can: Starts off with a set of rapid-fire lies. Oaxis isn't fun, family, or anything else, because it's not ANYTHING right now. But don't worry, they make sure to elaborate on all these lies later! "Fun." Nothing more fun than watching Butch stroke his ego by portraying himself as a genius scientist and then Superman, amirite guys? Family, drama, sci-fi, sports. Not 100% sure where all those clips are from (except the Pursuit of Happyness) but I know Butch doesn't own any of them. Not to mention he misspells "family" when that's what his entire tagline is based around LMAO Animation. No idea what that show is, or if Butch made it, but it gives off a really uncanny preschooly vibe to it lol. Butch's shows have been so devoid of conflict for years so I wouldn't put something like that past him. Games. Like Pieguy said, the game shown is from the Noog Network. Seems a tad lazy to be attaching a years-old forgotten app to your magnum opus of a network. Action. Again, no idea what that's from or if Butch made it, but the special effects are SUPER low budget. Looks like something from RUclips. Competition. That actually is from an Oaxis game show in development. Not only is it super cheap-looking, but honestly just look at the body language from those kids participating. You only make those gestures when you're making awkward small talk with someone you don't know. Which isn't exactly what people are looking for in competitions. Lastly, mystery and mobile. One is just a shot of the moon, and the other is continuing to promise shows/movies that he doesn't own the rights to (also hey Hartfans, just thought I'd remind you for the hundred-millionth time that I created Fairly OddParents!). And wrapping up nicely with the same lies from the beginning. Top-notch stuff here.

A generic superhero comedy about mice that makes teen titans go look like it had care put into it, butch even calls it his version of the ninja turtles implying it is like those ninja turtle rip offs from the 80s 2. A generic show about a platypus getting beat up, essentially squidward torture episodes the show 3. A show kuro made that butch claims to be his and only his just like everything else he and kuro made, why he continues to work with him is beyond me
Look up Kuro the Artist, guys, he has a RUclips channel. The guy is a huge fan of Butch’s shows and even animated projects for him. But he isn’t properly credited by Butch at all. Kuro made a video calling him out for that
Kayk according to him, the show he created basically is no more. Kuro said on Twitter that Elf Detective, which is the name of the show, basically fell apart. He said he might make a video on it.
Seeing how the trailer video has shows Butch didn’t make, it’s giving me flashbacks to the Soulja Game console. Is anyone else getting those vibes, or is it just me?

Three quick things: 1. I don't want to pay for another freaking streaming service. 2. The whole family friendly thing makes it sound like a cult. 3. This looks and sounds shady as hell.
I’m honestly trying so hard to not laugh at how laughably lazy this website looks, but what even funnier is that clip he used for the “Sci-Fi” segment in his so called “Sizzle-Reel” is from a Rated R movie “Elysium” with Matt Damon. Yeah...”family friendly” everybody! XD Also on a side note I think there’s no way Disney would just give them their rights to Star Wars and Marvel or any of their franchises they own without having to pay a lot of money, more than I could possible imagine they have from the Kickstarter to be honest.
I’ve a feeling his researchers probably just looked up the genres like “action movie trailer” and picked one. It’s clear no effort or research went into any of this. It’s just a vehicle to get more and more money.
"The first phase of building this platform is called the discovery phase." Actually, Butch, that's the first phase of a lawsuit. That you're really desperate on inviting.
I love how hypocritical Butch is. FOP had so much fetish crap in it and now he is talking "family friendly" content. Also the explanations on this site are creepy. It sounds like a cult leader talking through it. Also this is looking more and MORE like the whole debacle involving Soulja Boy with those gaming systems.
Hey--where's my free toy? Butch said if I donated enough box tops, I'd get a free wand toy. What a rip. All I got was a tee shirt and crushing disappointment. It's like Cans Without Labels *FOR A NETWORK* Except he doesn't rip off Olive Garden's slogan technique...they at least *pretend* they're Italian.
Couple things. 1) that mailing list was a part of the five dollar tier and didn’t have those specialized mailing lists. The first tier is now officially worthless. 2) Did no one look at that email? Like. He says he went to investors and then later on talks about needing more money. This implies that he couldn’t get money from his investors. Literally, the people who he thought would give him money, said NO or at the very least, wouldn’t give him enough. So, he sent out THIS email because he thinks his super fans, his supposed “family” would give him money instead. What a guy
You have to admit, he's right about the "family" thing though. He's like the crazy uncle who blew all of his money on the slots and is now begging you to lend him enough money to pay rent when he's just going to go back and bet it all on the slots again.
Since Butch promises that Oaxis will be available on “anything that’s been invented” I expect it to be available for my Tamagotchi, my watch and my car radio.
4:57 along with kp, apparently we also have toy story 4 (which is still in theaters right now) and the fairly oddparents, which butch did make, but it's a nickelodeon property
Gracekim1 He doesn’t own the cartoon, that’s how it works sadly(Well in this case not really, Butch didn’t do that show great service). The studio funds and airs the show, they own it.
You know what brought my family together? The Mentalist, a show that is definitely NOT family friendly. And, yet, every Sunday, my family always got together to watch it when I was younger.
Gonna comment again because I just realized something. Using language like “Cool, hip, modern and current” 1) is dumb and shows you have no idea what you’re doing and 2) and more importantly, if you’re now saying specifics, it means you’re not promising anything. For example, consoles show their modern capabilities by well, SHOWING what a console should and shouldn’t be able to do. In doing so, audiences know it’s modern because the technology itself is evolving. What Oaxis is doing is not saying what they can do for plausible deniability later on. If you don’t promise specifics then you can’t be liable to give them. Which in enough itself is BAFFLING when they also promise everything under the sun in terms of entertainment. There is no how in any of this. No real what’s either. Just pretty words that sound good on paper but mean nothing but extortion in practice
And the weird thing about Cans is that, the kickstarter for that was actually really well put-together all around. The product was very straightforward, the rewards reasonable, and the description extremely detailed. It's just that John K sat on his ass for far too long and ended up delivering a product so underwhelming it puts Mighty No 9 to shame. What I'm saying is, if a kickstarter as well-made as that couldn't properly deliver, why the hell would this?
I can't wait for it to slowly crash and burn, this was a bad idea from the start and I'm sure Butch is going to realize he's in over his head. The smug bastard will never admit it, though.
I remember Butch's whole refute to his critics when this all got started. He said something like "You're gonna take ME down? Do you know who you're dealing with??" Judging from this, neither did he...
“Hey guys, Please donate to me, even though I insulted people with depression, joked about a woman’s terrible suicide, and egotistically boasted about ‘creating your childhood’ with only 4 shows. ‘Kay, thanks!”
Butch definitely ran with the money. I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been hell raised on the Kickstarter comments considering it happens when a project is delayed.
Honestly, with Disney+ coming soon, I really don't see how Butch thinks Oaxis could possibly compete. It's basically going to be what Oaxis was promised to be, plus it has the greater name recognition and has easier access to a large variety of content.
I'd just like to point out that in spite of not getting funded, Mr Enter is still working on his project in his spare time. Not asking for more money with even less to show. Yes, I'm still salty about Oaxis getting funded over Growing Around. Fight me.
I bet if it was actually made Butch would pirate Disney's The Owl House, and mutilate it by taking out the witches and demons because, he's probably one of those Christians that think witches and demons are satanic
The entire concept, design, and marketing of Oaxis isn't very clear to begin with... It's supposed to be, above all, family-oriented and family-friendly. The logo doesn't indicate this at all. It even has the weird red slash through the X reminiscent of blood. Now, I'm not saying the logo is *bad* But parents looking for a platform that they'll most likely use as a distraction for their kids wouldn't be immediately drawn to it. If shown this logo, and told nothing else, no one could guess by the name or design that it was intended to be family entertainment. The name and design essentially mean nothing for the company. Secondly, he keeps pushing this "hip, cool, modern" narrative as if it means anything at all to parents. It doesn't. Afterall, this is meant to be FAMILY entertainment. Why should parents care if the service they watch, say, Toy Story on with their 5yo is uber hip and cool? They wouldn't. So it's just bad marketing to his target demographic; it misses the mark, and they're just empty words. Not only that, but I can't imagine wanting to get my news from the same platform I'm supposed to be "culturally drawn to my family" (or whatever the hell) on. The news isn't particularly family friendly. At the very least, it holds no appeal to children. Neither do sports, for that matter. I just don't understand his goal of bringing everyone's interests together under the guise of "family entertainment" when some of the interests parents have are, by nature, NOT family friendly. Like, yeah...cartoons and kid movies make sense. But then he added sports. And the news. And mysteries. And dramas. What's next? Family-friendly horror? Or family-friendly porn? Obviously, no, not really. But he's losing sight of his original idea to the point where it just...isn't really worth it anymore.
Another I just thought of is he kinda reminds me of a televangelist where he's selling a product and he's making all these promise that he clearly can't fully deliver on, on top of buttering you by saying all these nice things like how he cares about family values, you and your family etc so that way you're more compliant to give him your money
That's just hilarious. The guy got 200k, which is almost nothing in that context, and he spends that money to travel... He says he is meeting with people to make contracts but is it really worth it spending thousands of dollars on trips if you could just make a video call? Come on...

"We continue to have weekly meetings with the platform developers so that we are tracking the platform's construction progress."
I've been taking media production classes for a while now, and what this basically says is that Butch is incompetent when it comes to managing something like this. Scheduled weekly meetings are one of the first things they tell you to NEVER do. They are ineffective and slow down the development process. No serious media company would have development meetings more than once every 2 months unless there is something major that needs to be addressed. But there you have it. In his attempt to seem like an open and honest man he has ultimately revealed that he has no idea what he is doing.
And if he was being honest, he should have a development timeline of some sort. His lack of transparency is frightening
Yep
As someone with almost no knowledge of this, what’s the problem with weekly meetings? What kinds of communication are preferable?
@@meowtherainbowx4163 Imagine doing your chores and then having your mom bug you every hour to make sure youre doing your chores. Thats the normal person equivalent of weekly meetings. Its annoying and disrupts the workflow.

I find it odd that Butch is trying to create a streaming service, and yet he had enough time to work on a 5th show (Hobby Kids Adventures on RUclips).

BlythePennyBicycle21 wait what?
The whole concept is boring. Who wants to watch some random real life family animated?
It's almost like making a streaming service is difficult and expensive that multi-billion dollar companies can't even do right half the time.
But it's funny how he still has millions of dollars and still doesnt want to invest it into a project that he's "passionate" about and has to beg his financially poor millennial audience instead

Just gonna do a quick analysis of the Oaxis sizzle reel because I can:
Starts off with a set of rapid-fire lies.
Not to mention he misspells "family" when that's what his entire tagline is based around LMAO
Animation.

Are we surprised? Butch is a complete joke, any talent he had is long dead at this point.

The entire concept, design, and marketing of Oaxis isn't very clear to begin with...
It's supposed to be, above all, family-oriented and family-friendly.
The logo doesn't indicate this at all. It even has the weird red slash through the X reminiscent of blood. Now, I'm not saying the logo is *bad*
But parents looking for a platform that they'll most likely use as a distraction for their kids wouldn't be immediately drawn to it.

Plot twist: Butch spent the fundraiser money to travel with his families, as he mentioned about traveling in an email.
