Recently someone donated $90,000 to my church so it's not impossible to get 25,000 from someone. I can give you 10 bucks and a CD copy of E-MO-TION by Carly Rae Jepsen to help you fund Pie Land.
But... but... he's my childhood! Butch Hartman is my childhood. I don't have any memories of learning how to ride a bike, or developing my first set of teeth, but I do remember Butch Hartman's Nickelodeon shows!
At first I thought he meant 600 people need to give him a total of 99 dollars, I didn't think he meant it every individual person needs to give him 99 dollars, that's SUPER f***ed up.
600 people give him a total of $99? So most of these people are donating less than 50 cents?? Why wouldn't he say 99 people need to give $1? But yeah, 600 people EACH need to give $99, that's ridiculous. Even if you aren't considering that most of his fans are young people who don't have that kind of money to donate to anything (if I did have that much money, I'm sure as hell not donating it to a kickstarter for a streaming service) that's just a ridiculous request.
Frankly I’m surprised he made this much money with so little to show for a whole streaming platform. Especially since a lot of the audience for his RUclips videos is teens and young adults.
Not worth it, in my opinion, to get lessons from him when you can look up free how to draw tutorials from many youtubers that will give you a bit of help on how to get better and to get into drawing overall. I enjoyed his videos in the beginning but soon got tired of it since I realized that he has a big ego and everything is about him. I love the show Danny Phantom but not the other shows he has made and since he was responsible for most episodes in seasons 3 of Danny Phantom that was the worst episodes. Tthe hat says a lot about his storytelling skills and it is good that he does not have his hands on the IP for DP. The 10 years later idea, if done correctly, can work but if Butch storytelling has something to say about it then you get what I am worried about.
MrBKainX Well he is well known so people trust him with their money. If Atari can raise a campaign $2m+ for a console nobody is asking for and has the foggiest of notions what it's exactly about, then it's easy for Butch to raise a lesser amount.
Remember that seemingly-friendly elderly woman from SpongeBob who took Gary in and fed him really well, only to end up trying to kill him? Butch Hartman reminds me of her for some reason...
Isabella Cataldo I caught an episode of two of BIAB and it was far from the worst thing ever, but nothing special. I did like TUFF Puppy, though (but not nearly enough for it to be “muh childhood”).
Butch Hartman only created two and a half good cartoons. He didn’t “create my childhood”. Craig McCracken, Gennedy Tartokovski, Danny Antonucci and Stephen Hillenburg created it
Back in the 2000s I created two famous cartoon shows I’m Butch Hartman (Butch) Butch Hartman Don’t act like yooouuu don’t know And I’m trying to hold onto my past It’s been so long I don’t think I’m gonna last I guess I’m just trying to make you understand That I’m more Butch than a Hartman Or am I more Hartman than a Butch? Butch
I don't know why Butch just doesn't go with Netflix, and partner with them, instead of trying to launch his entire original streaming service. I also know for a fact that Disney is seeking to launch their own streaming service in the near future, which means that this Kickstarter goes to show just how really unprepared Butch is for what's about to happen in the industry.
If you take notice of his behaviour, you'll notice that he's very arrogant. nd he often mentioned that he thinks that modern shows aren't "positive enough", which might be why he dosen't partner with Netflix since it has a various types of shows. Even adult cartoons that tackles some very serious topics. He might actually be arrogant enough to believe he can do it on his own, expecially against DISNEY's future coming streaming service
Pretty much what the other reply said. He probably sees Netflix as not suitable for what he wants to do since there are shows, cartoons or not, that taint his family friendly desires of a platform. He doesn't want his family friendly cartoon to be sitting in a Netflix Queue alongside Big Mouth or Bojack Horseman.
No Butch, I'm not forking over one penny for a streaming service that's most likely going to flop, no matter how much you insist you made my childhood. You didn't even make my childhood, Danny Antonucci and Craig McCracken did.
Agreed, I enjoyed Fairly Odd Parents in its hay day but it didn’t leave as big of an impact on me as Ed, Edd, n Eddy did. In fact most of the shows that I can say made my childhood were on Cartoon Network and Boomerang. It was my older sis who introduced me to Spongebob and the many older Nicktoons since she was the one who grew up with Nickelodeon. Strictly speaking Spongebob did a lot more for me than FOP ever did, even if they are from the same Network. There’s also the fact that I barely remember Danny Phantom and didn’t even bother with Tuff Puppy and Bunsen is a Beast.
Honestly FOP and Danny Phantom were a big part of my childhood but even I won’t get behind this idea because there isn’t enough info and incentive for me to give over my money. I got student loans dude.
I’ve given up on Butch’s RUclips channel at this point. I saw this “deleting in 24 hours” video and it’s just disgusting. The way he tries to manipulate/guilt trip his audience is disgusting. You nailed this, Pieguy. Well done. (Btw angry Pieguy is a big mood)
Stephen Brown He has gone so low to the point that i'm starting to lose respect in him. This project was doomed from the start and he has no idea on how to run a network at all.
Stephen Brown i used to enjoy his content but then it kept being clickbait video after clickbait video, pretty much after around a week of that i got tired and unsubbed, which sucks because in the beginning i was super excited to hear he planned on making youtube videos, i thought he would be able to pave the way a bit for future creators, expand people outside knowledge of how to get started in the industry and such, but this definitely isn’t the way to do it that sorta shit. i can’t even stomach his content anymore honestly, not because i think he’s a horrible human being (unless he scams everybody in this kickstarter anyways) but because i’m just so damn tired of almost every youtuber using clickbait, it’s annoying as hell to me.
Well Stephen Brown, the click bait worked because as of now Butch Hartman has already reach his kickstarter goal! Here's a link: www.kickstarter.com/projects/oaxisentertainment/oaxis-entertainment
It's a bit weird because we have Netflix which already has a kids section and such and Hulu has a good selection of things to watch as well so I'm curious as to what exactly it has or what it's purpose is exactly.
And Vrv has started acquiring older shows that Netflix and Hulu won't take (like Freakazoid) to make their already fairly comprehensive platform (as a subscription there includes multiple other content libraries like Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Rooster Teeth) extra enticing. Not sure why he doesn't just take his stuff there.
I will give Butch Hartman credit where credit is due: he learned & mastered the clickbait game really fast. He was able to adapt to the internet culture very well. Regardless if he's purposely trying to con people out of their money or if he is just _that_ ignorant, he's done a great job at convincing people (plus all the kids) to donate to the kickstarter without showing literally anything. Like not even concept art for what the layout of the website or streaming service should be, it's just a bunch of words & doesn't even mention other names. His ego though, it's at comedic levels at this point.
“You trusted me with your childhood... won’t you trust me with your future?” Okay, so this guy clearly thinks he owns your past AND that he can control you because of cartoons you watched decades ago. Come on! I never even cared about Butch until this month, and I don’t even watch Nickelodeon, and this ticked me off.
He's Made Various Undertaker Shorts Which Were Hilariously Brilliant He Took The Undertaker The Taker We Know And Love And Gave Him A Serious And Comedic Side
Tries to make an entertainment empire. Had a singular successful TV show that went downhill after a while, one cult classic that also went downhill, one show that no one remembers that was consistently average, and one show that was eh....but got forgotten quickly. PLUS, never ran a production company that came to produce stuff outside of a bigger corporation.
Give it credit, at least Seth Macfarlane made something of himself other than his TV shows with successful box office films and an empire of writers whom spun off their own (albeit unsuccessful) shows under his company.
You read my words out of my mouth, at least Seth Macfarlane actually tried to go into other media besides tv shows(Movies and music to be specific), butch Hartman here feels like he's having a huge ego for himself(Created your childhood anyone)
I think he’s too good hearted to actually be scamming people on purpose, but I would buy that he’s manipulative. Some people can do it without really thinking, others are just so used to doing in their industry, even if they come across as nice people. This is a shame. He’s a cool dad, but he’s going about everything the wrong way. I wouldn’t give him a cent of my money, despite my respect for his craft.
We didnt trust him with our past. We didnt care who made the shows. We only watched the show for what it was by its own. You dont see Stan Lee doing this, and he created Marvel. Butch makes me sad. He created shows that are good, not amazing, but good. And now he is acting like he created the best thing on earth. He only made a small part of our childhood. As much as he says he owned it. That is his problem. Butch has to know that, yes he made good shows we loved to watch, but nothing more. And as much as we loved then and still enjoy them today, they are just a small part of our lives. We had SpongeBob, KND, Zim, Courage, Billy and Mandy, Teen Titans, and so much more. To say he made our childhoods its having a huge ego. I hope he can understand that someday.
"You trusted me with your childhood, so trust me with your future." This whole situation is kinda like being contacted out of the blue by a guy wanting you to invest in his company because he was your babysitter a couple times when you were 8 years old. Butch, I hate to tell ya, but you're waaaaay overestimating the impact you had on our childhoods. Our childhoods involved watching cartoons, yeah. But of all the cartoons we watched, you were responsible for what, four of them? (And heck even then, any given kid was usually only interested in one or two of those four shows at a time). And the closest thing to a financial investment on our parts that that relationship involved, was our parents paying the cable bill. Not exactly comparable, is what I'm saying.
Vidya Bros. What sickens me is how he tries to convince people to pledge him money no matter what and using his own past shows and clickbait to do so. Never thought he could go that low
to be honest i question how much of his success as a creator is his own and how much is him standing on the backs of other people look at danny phantom when he took direct control in season 3 it had a MASSIVE drop in quality
Exactly! Danny Phantom was more Steve Marmel's show than Butch's in the first two seasons, yet Butch has refused to acknowledge anyone else. As if he was the only reason any of his shows were good.
Toon4Thought He doesn't want to give others credit because it's his show and nobody deserves credit except him. He has too much of a ego to let that happen.
And then fairly odd parents dropped in quality even more with season 10 and it was he's idea to add chloe!!!, she didn't need to be in fop and now fop sucks because the writing is awful and chloe sucks as a character. :(
He could easily fund this thing himself if he wanted to. He doesn't need anyones money, which just makes it worse that he's directly trying to milk his fans. He's going to run out of them eventually.
RandumbCinema Exactly. He could fund this himself but he had to go to extent to manipulate, use his own success and clickbating people to donate him money. This is just disrespectful coming from someone as Butch Hartman
I honestly have lost a lot of respect for Butch as of late. First he insults people for doubting that the Kickstarter will succeed and his reasoning for why it will is because he's "Butch Hartman". I also realized how much of an ego he has and how he thinks he's some animation God, when really he's only made 2 good shows (one of which is a shell of it's former self). On top of that every single video he makes is clickbait. It's also not smart to insult potential customers.
Like Toon4Thought said, Nostalgia is powerful, but there's also ignorant people as well as little kids who either asked or bribed their parents into donating with said parents being ignorant.
I downloaded the video just in case. Also, I don't want this streaming service in the first place. The idea of a streaming service solely filled with family friendly content sounds boring... and lame.
TwistedDanns netflix already did it. It has kid friendly shows and movies. Netflix also has its own shows. Just pay 15 a month for netflix. Not 99 dollars.
Well as of now his kickstarter has already reached his goal I guess that click bait did work out for him. Here's a Link: www.kickstarter.com/projects/oaxisentertainment/oaxis-entertainment Also watch this video (eyeofsol and pieguyrulz's live reactions and thought) Here's a link: ruclips.net/video/tajoCVbgPhI/видео.html Also Hi Twisted!
AwesomeAlex500 At least Mr Enter has been officially working on Growing Around for years and scripts and concept art exist. Yeah, the goal is still way too much to be funded by a kickstarter in just a month, but he also made it clear that if the goal isn’t met, it’s not going to be all over and he‘ll try something else.
Honestly, people did give some reasonable criticisms as to why his campaign isn't working. He probably could've done it better. But even still, yes he deserved to at least crack six figures.
+EdgarAllenHoe At least he's got scripts, designs, and an entire novel as proof of concept. It's not as much as a shorter, cheaper pilot like PieGuy suggested, but it's something. Also, he's got other people doing livestreams with him devoted to answering questions about the show, and early on in one of them, they laid out their plans for a graphic novel as a plan B. I fear that _Growing Around_ won't catch on to the extent needed to create this huge franchise, but it's already turning into something of substance.
"He needs a dose of reality." Well that might take a while, especially since his Kickstarter as of now has already reach it's goal! Here's a link: www.kickstarter.com/projects/oaxisentertainment/oaxis-entertainment
i never had any respect for him in the first place but i feel bad for the people who still trust him. in other news the kickstarter is pretty slow so hopefully it won't get funded, plus two different people posted "phantom planet isn't canon" in the chat and the oaxis app prototype has a huge image of butch hartman next to the logo so that's great
I don't know, he somehow got $10K in the past hour and a half or so. Obviously that was because the video was just posted, but even then, you have to account for the 9-5 crowd. And that sucks because he shouldn't make it.
Literally the most I can see happening is that it gets made but nobody will care about it. He's screwed no matter what. I just want him to get the reality check sooner, and in a manner that doesn't screw those who donated.
it could serve as a good wake up slap for him, to make him realize that just because he had sucess in the past it dosen't mean that everything he does will be succesfull. I doubt it, but I hope so.
A Guardian Angel He's so out of touch with reality and his fanbase nowadays it's shameful. His very egoistical to keep up with times and doesn't acknowledge that his past is pretty much behind him.
I think it would be much better had Butch started out a bit more humble. Like give him money so he can create a new show and host it on his youtube channel. It's cheap and effective limiting interaction with corporation and he could probably hire a lot of good people. The rewards could be from being in the credits to being a a voice chat with Butch and the animators talking about the animation and other miscellaneous things to being a VA in the animation itself . I think it would get more support and it would be a much more clear cut and precise idea of what he wants to do and give us. Trying to create a new network from scratch is just too big and too much. Simply put it's much more than he can chew and a lot of people are seeing that.
Nihilistic Psychopath Shoehorned? No, but it's fine to have variety. I assume they were just asking if we *would* have those types of themes in the shows.
Nihilistic Psychopath Its also the fact that people already think his a Christian homophobic, and not answering an easy yes or no question about including lgbt characters and actively avoiding it in a Q&A, its making him seem more like one.
Squash Face Then they shouldn't have straight relationships either, its the same thing and don't come with that "it cofuses children" bullshit that nobody buys anymore.
you forgot to mention the quote where hes refers to the people working under him that are going to program for the platform, elves which came off as in incredibly arrogant
Why didn't he just revamp the Noog network. At least it already exist instead of starting from scratch and he has some content. Plus he mentions it a lot in his perks
Or so it seems. Won't Butch have to like make at least one more kickstarter since if this one works, he'll have pretty much just a blank website? He'll need another kickstarter to raise funds for the shows. Also even if Oaxis (dumb name btw) comes to be is it going to be successful since Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu not only have a lot of kids' shows, but they have adult shows too and lack of variety would really hurt Oaxis' appeal. Like there goes anyone who just wants an adult cartoon.
It’s almost sad seeing Butch Hartman, a man legendary in the cartoon community, fall apart, leave Nickelodeon, drop the quality of his shows and now wants our money for something we know nothing about.
At the beginning of this video you said you hoped that someone saved this video. After you said that I immediately saved the video. Will post at some point after Butch deletes the original.
Mike White when he started clickbaiting I stopped watching it. He then quits Nickelodeon and instead of getting hired by Cartoon Network or something, he makes his own streaming network. Then he makes all these people pay just to make a streaming service like Netflix And a kid friendly network like Nickelodeon.
I definitely don't want it to make the goal for their sake, but yeah there's no way in hell this will work out. Assuming the platform does somehow get made, nobody will care about it. Why subscribe to that when you can subscribe to a much more mainstream platform?
Agreed. Like I understand with Oaxis its suppose to bring family’s together, like i try to get time with my mom and its hard to do that with work and such and his heart is in the right place with the concept, but, he’s manipulating and it probably- no- DEFINITELY wont work. Hes Manipulating and being very very rude with his sayings, even if he cant see it
Yeah, but keep in mind, Oaxis is a name for a wristwatch company. Search it up, Oaxis, and you get some videos of a watch. Oaxis is supposed to be 100% family friendly. But it has gotten too far for this.
Lmao of all the cartoons I watched in my childhood I wouldn't consider Butch's work the majority of them. Rugrats? Yes. Rokko's Modern Life? Yes. Ah! Real Monsters? Yes. Fairly Odd Parents and Danny Phantom weren't a thing until late elementary and middle school.
I'll always love Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom (and sort of like Tuff Puppy), but I am just done with Butch Hartman. I am just done with his irksome fake Christian wholesome persona and his obsession with being "family friendly". I am done with his stupid and manipulative clickbait. I'm done with him exploiting the nostalgia of his fans to boost his inflated ego. I'm done with his annoying podcast where he interrupts his guests every two seconds to remind the audience of just how "funny" he is. I'm done with his cringe-worthy attempts to be hip when he's clearly the most out-of-touch content creator I have ever seen. I'm done with his hypocritical advice and critiques against other cartoons. (And this is a nitpick, but I'm also done with how often he retroactively retcons his shows, like Danny Phantom where he repeatedly says that none of the ghosts are actually ghosts of people who died when the several ghosts in the show contradict that.) Most of all, I'm done with this blatant scam of a Kickstarter. I used to somewhat defend Butch by saying, "He seems like a nice and humble guy, but his decisions are just misguided." But no, I'm done with that. I don't believe that he's a nice guy. He is so transparently fake, it's insulting. I believe that it's a front while he scams his impressionable fans who are foolishly hoping for Danny Phantom to return (spoiler: it's never coming back, no matter how many times Butch teases you with "you never know what'll happen" 🙄). People are framing these critiques of Butch's Kickstarter like he's just a naive and out-of-touch guy in way over his head, but he's a grown adult who has been in the industry for over twenty years. He knows what he's doing and what he's doing is maliciously running a scam. I see right through him. That's ultimately my biggest problem with Butch Hartman. He pretends like he's this super humble and nice guy who made your favorite childhood shows when everything about his online presence clearly indicates that he's an arrogant narcissist who thinks way too highly of himself. At least other pretentious show creators like John K. are upfront about being arrogant assholes, but Butch always acts like he's so innocent. Again, I'll always love Fairly OddParents (most of it, anyway) and Danny Phantom, and if he ever makes a show that seems worthwhile again, I'll happily watch it. But I do not like Butch as a person - at least not anymore. He has this aura of "fake nice Christian" who secretly holds bigoted or homophobic views. Believe me, I know the type, so I'm pretty good at detecting them.
Knowing Butch, he's probably gonna see this video, turn it off the second he realizes it's negative and run to his phone to spam tweet random bible verses and things like "I refuse to let negativity rule" and "be nice." He's got a big ego and is that kind of person that sees criticism as nothing but hate. Did you see how he's been tweeting nothing but snarky remarks about the Rugrats reboot lately?
Rlamas478 Watch Pie's latest video on Butch Hartman and it'll all be there. Also look at the results for tweets with the words "Butch Hartman" on Twitter.
I dunno whether anyone has mentioned this, but doesn't his Kickstarter break the rules? Aren't you supposed to have a working prototype of a service before you're allowed to use Kickstarter on a project?
Jonathan Pinzonジョナサン・ピンソン He saw the Macy’s parade performance and wasn’t impressed. Wonder if his opinion changed after all the praise it got. Anyway, definitely see it when it goes on tour.
I feel as if Butch will somehow get his money by "placing" the difference as a made up user account just so that he can get this thing going and I agree with your points on his scheming tactics and underhanded manipulation on nostalgia and fond memories in order to sap the gullible into funding his "project" that is barely knowledgeable in any form and is completely based on us believing his words for a fact. Whether this passes or fails, he has singlehandedly criminalized Gofundme's in a elaborate and crafty fashion while being so shady and secretive on the real deal of it all. Thank you for continually keeping up with this and lets just wait and see what the end result will be.
Oh how the mighty have fallen. The fact that I was a fan of this guy's works and the feelings I've gotten with his more recent endeavors shows how much I've lost any form of respect for him.
I love me some Pieguyrulz, especially since I just watched the Butch Hartman video! I may have trusted him with my childhood but will I trust him with my future? No sir!
Is there really any reason for him to? It's not like PGR has the clout to make the value skyrocket anyway. Seriously though, Enter deserved to at least crack six figures. Shame, really.
Nah, there isn't anything else to say really. I'm not here to rub salt in anyone's wounds, and I've already given my constructive criticism. Enter isn't actively or passively scamming anyone.
Mr. Enter's project problems have been more oriented towards his ambitious due dates in terms of budget and crew. PieGuy has already talked about it. If he did a Part 2, there wouldn't be much to talk about.
Last 12 hours... "We only need $50,000 more!" Sir... the first Kickstater project I backed only needed $30,000 total. It was a PORT of an existing SMALL indie game. It took 25 days for them to reach that $30,000. :/
Why do I get the feeling that if this thing get funded, Butch is gonna take the money and run? His language about this project is romantic, slimy and rotten to the core.
When I was little and watched Cosmo and Wanda or Danny Phantom, I sure as hell did not know or care who created them. That were two shows out of literally hundreds of others we could watch and he did not create them alone. He had teams and funding and it was literally their job to do this. They got paid! So he should stop pretending to be the next Jesus Christ. This clown did not "create my childhood"...
Honestly as someone that works professionally in the entertainment business this whole campaign seems very odd. I have personally been a part of over seven kick starters and three or maybe four Indiegogo campaigns. The way to do a successful campaign in film production is to have a few decent name actors attached to your campaign. When I did my campaign for my detective story I personally had Vic Mignogna and Dante Basco on the campaign. I may have been the director and writer of the script but I also had on the campaign who my crew is going to be. As well as through the campaign’s timeline the money that we brought in counted as certified funds and so whenever I would cast another named actor such as Martin Cove. I would post update so my supporters could see what’s going on. Also everyone knows this kick starter typically 70% of your money is from investors and you use it to bring in a little bit of extra money to help fund your project. clearly Butch Hartman’s idea is so terrible that he couldn’t get any funders that were actual investors into his project. If you don’t believe me Google how you do a successful campaign. Or free to google my production company on IMDb.
Hm , I really don't know what to think of this kickstarter, and im far from being the only one it seems. This is what I got out of everyone who I heard critique the kickstarter. It's so incomplete, and it feels sketchy. Im not backing this shit. (not that I really ever was since I noticed that his whole kickstarter description is pep talk for the emotionally sensitive and not legit stuff)
On a lighter note, have you ever been to The Unofficial Rugrats Online? It is a very interesting abandoned Rugrats fansite that hasn't been updated for over a decade.
I'd rather donate to the Cameron Boyce Foundation and the ALS association to help look for a cure for both epilepsy and the ALS disease, instead of this guy. I'm sorry but this is how I feel.
Hey, PieGuy. Thanks for the timely video on your thoughts. It's especially helpful for me because I've been skipping out on his videos to watch reruns of Bottom Of The Bakery. Your playlist has part 3 on it twice, by the way. RANDOM PLAYLISTING!!! (music plays) ...The really depressing thing is that he raised 200K and Mr. Enter only raised 10K for his thing.
Just because you made a fraction of our childhoods dosent mean it outomaticly will be good. 1. Your are just begging so much. 2. Turning the TV off is how you get families together. 3. USER UPLOAD FEATURE. 4. *cough* Netflix *cough* Hulu 5. He's kind of lost his touch. 6. Just because you made 4 shows mean you can make 100 more. 7. The show ideas so far. A completely silly and cartoony show. Yeah... That was 7 reasons why oaxis is not a good idea IMO.
It's really satisfying to hear you call Butch out. As a fan of both you and previous shows created by Butch, I'm truly saddened by this Kickstarter. Thank you for exposing how manipulative this Kickstarter is.
This whole thing just reminds of me when I was younger, I'd have some idea for a comic or website or business or something, and post about it online "I HAD THIS GREAT IDEA, HERE'S WHAT IT IS" despite the fact that I had no real plans as to how to actually implement the idea and no work to show for my idea (concept sketches, mockups, whatever). I was just so excited I went ahead and like reserved the Wordpress url. That's what this kickstarter makes me think of - someone with an idea they're excited about, but literally no logistical plans for it beyond the name.
If only 4 people donate 25,000 dollars to my kickstart we can get pie land up and running.
one like equals 600 people donating 99 dollars
Recently someone donated $90,000 to my church so it's not impossible to get 25,000 from someone. I can give you 10 bucks and a CD copy of E-MO-TION by Carly Rae Jepsen to help you fund Pie Land.
Wow Senpie noticed me.
Now that's a startup I can get behind!
I can get behind this.
butch’s next video will be a 10 minute loop of that dr doofenschmirtz song except it’s ‘my name is butch and you’ll give me money’
WOOP WOOP.
lol i wouldn’t be surprised
Omg I think he would that would be awful! UGH. BTW your animatics are amazing and cute!
But... but... he's my childhood! Butch Hartman is my childhood. I don't have any memories of learning how to ride a bike, or developing my first set of teeth, but I do remember Butch Hartman's Nickelodeon shows!
Oh fuck off. I'm sure ALL you remember were his shitty shows
bro whats a bike
don’t just type “Butch” when searching him up. You’re welcome
MonstersReview I don't remember my childhood at all, only Timmy Turner's
MonstersReview I'm just an average kid that no one understands.
At first I thought he meant 600 people need to give him a total of 99 dollars, I didn't think he meant it every individual person needs to give him 99 dollars, that's SUPER f***ed up.
fucked
sinn shit
watch this video (eyeofsol and pieguyrulz's live reactions and thought) Here's a link: ruclips.net/video/tajoCVbgPhI/видео.html
*FUCKED*
600 people give him a total of $99? So most of these people are donating less than 50 cents?? Why wouldn't he say 99 people need to give $1?
But yeah, 600 people EACH need to give $99, that's ridiculous. Even if you aren't considering that most of his fans are young people who don't have that kind of money to donate to anything (if I did have that much money, I'm sure as hell not donating it to a kickstarter for a streaming service) that's just a ridiculous request.
Dare I say he Butched this project. He has no Hart, man!
Guy Singer II Great pun!
Waka Waka
Lol
Lmao
That is awesome!
Hey Butch, how are you gonna convince people to help you fund this new service?
Butch: "Uh... Internet?"
"The internet" is also, coincidentally, the thing you just won with that comment, my friend
Elsie Why, Thank you.
Don't you mean: "The Timmy"?
When you think about it Butch's plan does sound like a scheme Timmy would come up with.
Butch Hartman has a son with Faeries and they wished for money to fund his kickstarter!
"I wish my dad could fund his kickstarter!"
*KA-CHING!*
Frankly I’m surprised he made this much money with so little to show for a whole streaming platform. Especially since a lot of the audience for his RUclips videos is teens and young adults.
It's probably mostly from "Common Sense" Media. Just look at their reviews, it'll make sense to you.
Probably from all the Christian websites he got posting articles about him.
MrBKainX I say it's the rewards. The majority of the rewards is getting drawings, art lessons and being able to talk to him.
Cal M "But Hartman"
Haha thanks for pointing out my typo! Fixed it.
Yep
Or like Mom from Futurama
He reminds me of Ned Flanders.
Honestly I lost faith in Butch Hartman after Bunsen is a Beast. I liked his past work, but he’s definitely losing steam.
Isabella Cataldo Same here. The magic he once had is gone.
Isabella Cataldo Same. He never adapted with times and only relies on his past works as a mean to get people behind him and clickbaits all around.
Isabella Cataldo I caught an episode of two of BIAB and it was far from the worst thing ever, but nothing special. I did like TUFF Puppy, though (but not nearly enough for it to be “muh childhood”).
I mean cartoons are just trash these days lol
Xboxone 1997 Wut
Butch Hartman only created two and a half good cartoons. He didn’t “create my childhood”. Craig McCracken, Gennedy Tartokovski, Danny Antonucci and Stephen Hillenburg created it
Carl Bloke yeaa
Carl Bloke Who are the middle two you mentioned (or rather, what did they create)?
Skeeter Mania Gennedy Tartokovski created Dexter's Labratory and Samurai Jack and Danny Antonucci created Ed Edd n Eddy
Tartokovski did Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, and Samurai Jack. Antonucci did Ed, Edd, & Eddy.
people at fourkids dubbed my childhood
Back in the 2000s I created two famous cartoon shows
I’m Butch Hartman (Butch)
Butch Hartman
Don’t act like yooouuu don’t know
And I’m trying to hold onto my past
It’s been so long I don’t think I’m gonna last
I guess I’m just trying to make you understand
That I’m more Butch than a Hartman
Or am I more Hartman than a Butch?
Butch
Julia 713
I'm confused
JustSomeKid InTheComments its a parade of the end credits theme for BoJack Horseman
Honestly, Bojack Horseman is probably the perfect analogy for his career life.
They even have the same initials
back in the 90's I was in a very famous TV show
I don't know why Butch just doesn't go with Netflix, and partner with them, instead of trying to launch his entire original streaming service.
Amber Goldsmith yea
Makes total sense! I only got to see a lot of my favorite cartoons back then because my parents could afford cable
And Stephen Hillenberg.
WeegeeSlayer don’t forget Genndy
I’ve given up on Butch’s RUclips channel at this point. I saw this “deleting in 24 hours” video and it’s just disgusting. The way he tries to manipulate/guilt trip his audience is disgusting. You nailed this, Pieguy. Well done. (Btw angry Pieguy is a big mood)
Stephen Brown He has gone so low to the point that i'm starting to lose respect in him. This project was doomed from the start and he has no idea on how to run a network at all.
Stephen Brown
i used to enjoy his content but then it kept being clickbait video after clickbait video, pretty much after around a week of that i got tired and unsubbed, which sucks because in the beginning i was super excited to hear he planned on making youtube videos, i thought he would be able to pave the way a bit for future creators, expand people outside knowledge of how to get started in the industry and such, but this definitely isn’t the way to do it that sorta shit.
i can’t even stomach his content anymore honestly, not because i think he’s a horrible human being (unless he scams everybody in this kickstarter anyways)
but because i’m just so damn tired of almost every youtuber using clickbait, it’s annoying as hell to me.
Masked Kitty ikr
Masted Kitty I don't use click bait. but no one watches my videos lol. maybe you should have some more respect for the click bait. it obviously works.
Well Stephen Brown,
the click bait worked because as of now Butch Hartman has already reach his kickstarter goal!
MetalGearPuff Netflix/Hulu but with only original child-friendly content.
People who don't want to support Netflix maybe?
I will give Butch Hartman credit where credit is due: he learned & mastered the clickbait game really fast. He was able to adapt to the internet culture very well. Regardless if he's purposely trying to con people out of their money or if he is just _that_ ignorant, he's done a great job at convincing people (plus all the kids) to donate to the kickstarter without showing literally anything. Like not even concept art for what the layout of the website or streaming service should be, it's just a bunch of words & doesn't even mention other names.
His ego though, it's at comedic levels at this point.
StupidMarioBros1Fan Why Do I See You In Every Comment Section
He’s becoming a clickbait god
Doesn't he have a past reputation to build n though? Its not literally nothing, its Trust that he has acrude.
“You trusted me with your childhood... won’t you trust me with your future?”
Okay, so this guy clearly thinks he owns your past AND that he can control you because of cartoons you watched decades ago. Come on! I never even cared about Butch until this month, and I don’t even watch Nickelodeon, and this ticked me off.
Butch didn't raise me, neither did his cartoons.
Yup. I loved Fairly Odd Parents and Danny Phantom as a kid, but I don't feel obligated to give him money for a streaming service I won't likely use.
heres the thing though, he only made the pilot for fairly odd parents and for danny phantom he only made the concept.
The Seth McFarlane of Nickelodeon
Give it credit, at least Seth Macfarlane made something of himself other than his TV shows with successful box office films and an empire of writers whom spun off their own (albeit unsuccessful) shows under his company.
You read my words out of my mouth, at least Seth Macfarlane actually tried to go into other media besides tv shows(Movies and music to be specific), butch Hartman here feels like he's having a huge ego for himself(Created your childhood anyone)
Yep, Butch is just a bourgeois animation creator. not a businessman.
I know this is going to be a stupid question but what is the word bourgeois
I think he’s too good hearted to actually be scamming people on purpose, but I would buy that he’s manipulative. Some people can do it without really thinking, others are just so used to doing in their industry, even if they come across as nice people. This is a shame. He’s a cool dad, but he’s going about everything the wrong way. I wouldn’t give him a cent of my money, despite my respect for his craft.
JediAnn Solo yeah I really think he's aiming too high for his own good. He's not bad just too ambitious
It's sad that people actually think there's such a thing as too ambitious nowadays.
Punkyagogo If someone's talent, skill, or personality aren't strong enough to match their ambition they're doomed to fail.
No, it's sad that there *is* such a thing as being too ambitious.
Toastedflare :P Thanks, but there’s no need to point that out. I’ve already watched and commented on the new video. I’m up to speed.
Just. UGH.
PIEGUYRULZ UGH is right
PIEGUYRULZ It is almost amazing how Butch is so disconnected from reality.
PIEGUYRULZ Legit though, the average backer has given him over $200 so $99 is much less than that
Thank you, I will link that one!
PIEGUYRULZ UGH
I commented on Butch's video "Yes let me just whip out only $99 surely I don't need it for rent, food, bills...living...sigh"
Dude, you should've compared this kickstarter to Markiplier's niece's gofundme. Mark's was a emotionally packed, and had a good cause.
DEATH BATTLE: A small loan of a million dollars VS. 600 people giving 99 dollars
camwoodstock That’s gonna be the next Goku vs Superman
camwoodstock 600 people times $99 = $59,400. I’ll take the million.
I hope he can understand that someday.
kokiri girl Stan Lee didn't "create" Marvel necessarily, but you're right. Not even Stan Lee tries pulling this stuff.
Teen Titans was ok I like Teen Titans Go much better
You can like the new one better, but you get the point.
I'm starting to think Butch Hartman didn't quit working an Nick, but instead was FIRED.
TheApoke nah he left
If he did he would be fired for being so greedy
Mighty Raccoon Except John K. He was a slacker.
NoahExtras. Getting fired from Nick for being greedy? Hahahahahahaha!!!!!! That’s a good one!
We do not know.
"You trusted me with your childhood, so trust me with your future."
This whole situation is kinda like being contacted out of the blue by a guy wanting you to invest in his company because he was your babysitter a couple times when you were 8 years old.
Plus, Butch ran the two good shows that he made into the ground.
Agreed. He hasn't proven himself at all. So why not?
Vidya Bros. What sickens me is how he tries to convince people to pledge him money no matter what and using his own past shows and clickbait to do so. Never thought he could go that low
Hello FUgamecrues child
It hit its goal with an extra 4k
At Least 50 Cent Isn't This Shady Hell I'd Fork Over Money For Every Kickstarter 50 Cent Puts Out
"You trusted me with your childhood won't you trust me with your future?"
What future? This type of tech already exists...
to be honest i question how much of his success as a creator is his own and how much is him standing on the backs of other people
look at danny phantom when he took direct control in season 3 it had a MASSIVE drop in quality
Crystal Bry actually it was the execs and Nickelodeon who made him add poof, sparky and chloe
LovelyKelly645 NO, he said he added chloe because he wanted a girl character in the show!!!!
If this gets funded, I’m blaming Dinkleberg.
Always Dinkleberg...
Bonnie Cordry *D* *I* *N* *K* *L* *E* *B* *E* *R* *G*
I honestly have lost a lot of respect for Butch as of late. First he insults people for doubting that the Kickstarter will succeed and his reasoning for why it will is because he's "Butch Hartman". I also realized how much of an ego he has and how he thinks he's some animation God, when really he's only made 2 good shows (one of which is a shell of it's former self). On top of that every single video he makes is clickbait. It's also not smart to insult potential customers.
He wants to scam both me and you!
He’s gonna scam you all cause he made Danny Phantom! XD XD XD
mike orange BrInG bAcK DaNnY PhAnToM!!!!1
It baffles my mind how there were actually deluded morons who backed him over $194,000 for things he might not even promis!
Nostalgia is quite the powerful and destructive beast.
Like Toon4Thought said, Nostalgia is powerful, but there's also ignorant people as well as little kids who either asked or bribed their parents into donating with said parents being ignorant.
StupidMarioBros1Fan
That’s for sure
i'd pay Butch $250,000 to NOT make oaxis a reality
That 1 dislike is butch hartman
And that one like is anonymous.
Same here. I downloaded it and I scheduled it to be uploaded at 4 AM EST.
Well as of now his kickstarter has already reached his goal I guess that click bait did work out for him.
Here's a Link: www.kickstarter.com/projects/oaxisentertainment/oaxis-entertainment
Also watch this video (eyeofsol and pieguyrulz's live reactions and thought) Here's a link: ruclips.net/video/tajoCVbgPhI/видео.html
Also Hi Twisted!
Mighty Raccoon hi
It's a shame that this stupid campaign is doing much better than Mr. Enter's much more well thought out Growing Around indiegogo
AwesomeAlex500
At least Mr Enter has been officially working on Growing Around for years and scripts and concept art exist. Yeah, the goal is still way too much to be funded by a kickstarter in just a month, but he also made it clear that if the goal isn’t met, it’s not going to be all over and he‘ll try something else.
how was it remotely well thought out
Honestly, people did give some reasonable criticisms as to why his campaign isn't working. He probably could've done it better. But even still, yes he deserved to at least crack six figures.
Mr.enter's campaign was far from amazing, but when put next to each other Butch Hartman makes Mr.enter looks like Shakespeare himself
You summed it up with the title. I 100% agree! He needs a dose of reality.
"He needs a dose of reality."
Well that might take a while, especially since his Kickstarter as of now has already reach it's goal!
Here's a link: www.kickstarter.com/projects/oaxisentertainment/oaxis-entertainment
Bill Smuppleboard is a pretty good IT guy from what I've heard
ay i watch your videos
I feel so sorry for those 847 guys, that actually donated
You really shouldn't be. That sounds harsh, but if you own alot of money, you should be wise enough to know how to spend and save.
This is a shitstorm of the highest order.
The Ponderer Mr. Enter has it worse
GTA 4 is not deep Metal Gear Solid 3 is deep i don't know
I disagree...
Mr.Enter at least isn't scamming people.
GTA 4 is not deep Metal Gear Solid 3 is deep he's not scamming anyone at all.
Sneaky Snek Butch's fundraiser is oaxis, not indiegogo.
the goal went up by $350 by the time i finished this video and there's still 10 hours left, i'm afraid this blatant scam is actually gonna get funded
ppp He's very desperate to get people's money with such little information about his project. He has lost my respect
i never had any respect for him in the first place but i feel bad for the people who still trust him. in other news the kickstarter is pretty slow so hopefully it won't get funded, plus two different people posted "phantom planet isn't canon" in the chat and the oaxis app prototype has a huge image of butch hartman next to the logo so that's great
ppp I won't lie, i enjoyed some of his shows when growing up but him going this low is just disgusting being honest
ppp apparently it did...
well shit. getting $40,000 in the span 8 hours seems pretty sketchy though, is there any way to see who donated what?
There is no way he will get $250,000 funded in the time the Kickstarter page has left
I don't know, he somehow got $10K in the past hour and a half or so. Obviously that was because the video was just posted, but even then, you have to account for the 9-5 crowd.
And that sucks because he shouldn't make it.
Toon4Thought Yeah I don't think he should make it either. He's a good man but OAXIS doesn't seem good
Literally the most I can see happening is that it gets made but nobody will care about it. He's screwed no matter what. I just want him to get the reality check sooner, and in a manner that doesn't screw those who donated.
It's up to 200'000 now!
Tiffany-Chan123 How many hours are left?
Honestly, because of his big ego, I do hope he fails to get it funded.
it could serve as a good wake up slap for him, to make him realize that just because he had sucess in the past it dosen't mean that everything he does will be succesfull. I doubt it, but I hope so.
A Guardian Angel He's so out of touch with reality and his fanbase nowadays it's shameful. His very egoistical to keep up with times and doesn't acknowledge that his past is pretty much behind him.
Doesn't mean he'll be able to meet all of the promises he had made.
600 people give him $99 to most likely make diy slime videos and subpar animations. I'm sold!
He made a livestream today on kickstarter and refused to answer any of the lgbt questions, or people pointing out that he wasn't answering them.
Because kids can identify in LBGT community and they can be shown in a good light on family television.
NekoKitkat25hug We don't need to confuse children even more. That should be a adult topic only.
Stan the food man
That’s fucking sad
Stan the food man He has such an over inflated ego it's just sad
There is no way that he can get this funded in time. I hope that it doesn't get funded in time.
Unfortunately, it just did get 250,000. 2 people literally just bought the animated character 10,000$ reward tiers.
Sean Clark
How much would you bet it was Butch himself?
I use youtube sometimes I guess lol
I use youtube sometimes I guess
Hmmm
S u s p I c I o u s
He could easily pay off the remaining amount. The guy's loaded.
#HalfHarted
Get it trending, guys.
Also is #ButchWatch on tumblr. (Courtesy of mushbabe.)
Why didn't he just revamp the Noog network. At least it already exist instead of starting from scratch and he has some content. Plus he mentions it a lot in his perks
If it was Android compatible I would have given it a once through look. But now I don't think so.
Damn PieGuy you’ve been wrecking Butch so hard ❤️❤️
Magenta Magenta and rightfully so
Mighty Raccoon huh??
Magenta Magenta he hates him lol
Pieguy also killed all of my friends
And unfortunately it looks likes he is succeeding on his plea
Or so it seems. Won't Butch have to like make at least one more kickstarter since if this one works, he'll have pretty much just a blank website? He'll need another kickstarter to raise funds for the shows. Also even if Oaxis (dumb name btw) comes to be is it going to be successful since Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu not only have a lot of kids' shows, but they have adult shows too and lack of variety would really hurt Oaxis' appeal. Like there goes anyone who just wants an adult cartoon.
He's up to 200k now..
Element
Wow....just wow
People really want Danny Phantom.
Which is even worse, considering he DOESN’T OWN Danny Phantom
Underfell Sans The edgy skeleton Now he's at 215k. He's either gonna hit it or come up super short.
It's $220k now.
Metaphysical Loaf of Bread
Noted!
ruclips.net/video/k9C1_-SCHaI/видео.html I'll just upload it now.
You are a saint.
I use youtube sometimes I guess hahaha butch took it down.
OAXIS is the Tanacon of Kickstarters
I love butch, but this whole thing made me lose respect for him
Mike White when he started clickbaiting I stopped watching it. He then quits Nickelodeon and instead of getting hired by Cartoon Network or something, he makes his own streaming network. Then he makes all these people pay just to make a streaming service like Netflix And a kid friendly network like Nickelodeon.
I don't want people to be ripped off. But I almost want this to get backed, just to see how it'll crash and burn.
I definitely don't want it to make the goal for their sake, but yeah there's no way in hell this will work out. Assuming the platform does somehow get made, nobody will care about it. Why subscribe to that when you can subscribe to a much more mainstream platform?
Snorp09 Why? That could only be seen as worse than it not getting funded at all.
OMG. It got funded. I said I *DIDN'T* want people to get ripped off. I just wondered how it would crash and burn...
It hit its goal with an extra 4k
Ghostgirl 708 Why do I find you everywhere?
(And this is a nitpick, but I'm also done with how often he retroactively retcons his shows, like Danny Phantom where he repeatedly says that none of the ghosts are actually ghosts of people who died when the several ghosts in the show contradict that.)
Most of all, I'm done with this blatant scam of a Kickstarter.
RyanX1231 I couldn’t agree more.
Damn, Pieguy went hard in this video. I still hope things work out for Butch, but his execution is definitly iffy.
Knowing Butch, he's probably gonna see this video, turn it off the second he realizes it's negative and run to his phone to spam tweet random bible verses and things like "I refuse to let negativity rule" and "be nice."
He's got a big ego and is that kind of person that sees criticism as nothing but hate. Did you see how he's been tweeting nothing but snarky remarks about the Rugrats reboot lately?
jonker what did he say
Rlamas478 Watch Pie's latest video on Butch Hartman and it'll all be there. Also look at the results for tweets with the words "Butch Hartman" on Twitter.
d e s p a c i t o 2 a t t a c k o f t h e c l o n e s
jonker alright thanks
I dunno whether anyone has mentioned this, but doesn't his Kickstarter break the rules? Aren't you supposed to have a working prototype of a service before you're allowed to use Kickstarter on a project?

shit u right
And it’s funded now. Goodbye, Butch Hartman’s positive reputation! Goodbye Butch Hartman’s career! Oh boy...
This is ALMOST worse than John K's Kickstarter.
Man is it sad how delusional Butch is acting. Yes, Fairly Odd Parents and Danny Phantom were enjoyable shows, but this is just sad.
Off topic: I’m going to see that Spongebob Broadway show when it comes to LA. I’m super hype to see it.
Jonathan Pinzonジョナサン・ピンソン I hope you like it! I saw it on Broadway and it was good. He should review it one day.
starcader99 I want him to review it as well.
You Make Great Videos! Been Watching Since 2014!! Keep Up The Good Work Pieguy!
No sir!
Are you going to do another video on mr enter? His Kickstarter is at 3 percent of his goal and he has three days left.
mr enter isnt begging for money
Nah, it may not have been a good Kickstarter campaign, but Mr. Enter at least isn't maliciously running a scam and trying to manipulate people.
Last 12 hours...
"We only need $50,000 more!"
Sir... the first Kickstater project I backed only needed $30,000 total. It was a PORT of an existing SMALL indie game.
It took 25 days for them to reach that $30,000. :/
Swervin' Mervin Was it Chicken Wiggle?
Grizzly Head
OMG, how did you know??? XD
Swervin' Mervin Magic
LOL, I thought it was internet. ;P
#Agaboosh
Why do I get the feeling that if this thing get funded, Butch is gonna take the money and run? His language about this project is romantic, slimy and rotten to the core.
Because he's given us no reason to believe he won't.
Butch Hartman is my childhood. My future. My god.
**reaches into wallet**
I re-uploaded Butch's video if you want to link it in your description, Pie.
OAXIS sounds like a crappy internet company name.
When you searched “Oaxis” did anyone see a fitness brand/case company lmao
Extreme title coming from a chill guy. Im curious now. Let's see what you have to say.
“You trusted me with your childhood.. won’t you trust me with your future?”
Uh... no thanks
if you’re searching up Butch Hartman on RUclips, don’t type just “Butch”. You’ll thank me later
Wow, I'm surprised this kickstarter got past 100k to be honest
I'd rather donate to the Cameron Boyce Foundation and the ALS association to help look for a cure for both epilepsy and the ALS disease, instead of this guy. I'm sorry but this is how I feel.
Can you imagine the Kamp Koral reveal ending with “SpongeBob was your childhood. Now he’s your kids’ future”
(music plays)
...The really depressing thing is that he raised 200K and Mr. Enter only raised 10K for his thing.
I will fix that. Thanks for letting me know.
I hope it fails. Is that terrible?
Sarasplenda No.
LOOL 11:36 instantly made me think of "Danger, Will Robinson! Danger!" And again, you're spot on with pretty much everything. Is IS just so SAD...
Wow first time you've sounded that... Angry?
But I totally understand why! Great video and wtf Butch?
It's really satisfying to hear you call Butch out. As a fan of both you and previous shows created by Butch, I'm truly saddened by this Kickstarter. Thank you for exposing how manipulative this Kickstarter is.
I s j u s t 9 9 d o l l a r s
This whole thing just reminds of me when I was younger, I'd have some idea for a comic or website or business or something, and post about it online "I HAD THIS GREAT IDEA, HERE'S WHAT IT IS" despite the fact that I had no real plans as to how to actually implement the idea and no work to show for my idea (concept sketches, mockups, whatever). I was just so excited I went ahead and like reserved the Wordpress url. That's what this kickstarter makes me think of - someone with an idea they're excited about, but literally no logistical plans for it beyond the name.
I'm just imagining the angry pie-con talking 😂
Hmm...hmm oh dear...
**glass shatters**
Oh, sorry, that was just the manipulation meter literally breaking the wall.
