- In this recording I was 14-years-old and I had only a few months(less than a year) of piano experience.
Tom Brier is the one who inspired me to play ragtime, I found him on RUclips playing the Maple Leaf Rag in three different keys. In this video I was playing songs that I had seen Tom play on RUclips, K.K. Ragtime being one of them.
At the time of uploading this(almost 3 years later) I have played the piano every day if I have had access to one, and I just love it more and more.
The piano in this video is the first Digital Piano I ever owned, but since then the keys have started to click loudly which makes it very unpleasureable and bothersome to play.
On the good side I now have a fantastic Digital Piano which I thoroughly enjoy and play every day.
This was recorded using an Android Phone (Sorry for vertical video).
Songs played in this video:
K.K. Ragtime - Tōru Minegishi - arr. Ron O’Dell
Red Pepper (A Spicy Rag) - Henry Lodge
Maple Leaf Rag - Scott Joplin

Nice job. It’s actually pretty great to see how you’ve grown as a pianist. Your syncopated feel has become better since then, among other things. :)
Much obliged! Considering it was about four years ago, my feel for the music is much greater. I do get to have a lot more fun now that I know how the music works, I do try to copy Tom Brier's playstyle.
Still better than I am hahahahaha
Don't say that! In that video I played through my entire repertoire. Judging by your videos you have no idea what you are capable of. Your improv videos are still fascinating to me, you have a steady rhythm and is euphonious to the ear.
@@Tarzoq Well, I guess I do play rather metronomically. Though most of my improv is just copy and pasted from other stuff xD
