Seeing the little boy getting hooked on ragtime reminds me of my own first experience around the same age. I was in a bar getting a sarsparilla (it was a kid's bar so it was okay) and there was this dude sitting there playing some amazing music. Someone told me his name was Scott Joplin and the song he was playing was called "Maple Leaf". I was so intrigued that I took up ragtime myself! Wonder what that guy's up to these days, he sure was good!
ooof, I can tell that the arpeggios in the second part are hard, just keep practicing, you'll get it once you drill it into your head enough xD You should try playing some Art Tatum arpeggios and work on those until you can get a spotless run. Then come back to this and you'll probably have a crazy easy time xD Nice playing and I can't wait for more!
I just tried to play through the second part again and played it through with no problems. I think stage fright played a big part in me messing up. I should definitely try to play some Art Tatum arpeggios since that can always come in handy. Thank you for your lovely comment!
@@Tarzoq Stage fright can definitely be a pain to deal with, but I usually just concentrate on not making a fool of myself and playing the notes right which is probably why I don't screw up too badly when I play live. But yeah, public playing takes some getting used to.
@@PiotrBarcz This was actually the first time ever I was performing in public, at one point I even had a panic attack so I had to stop playing for a moment. But I'm sure that next it will be much easier. :D
The little guy is in awe and might take up the piano on account of seeing you play.
Wonderful - good for you to sit down and play in public like that! It’s a great rag - always love listening to it.

That little kid who was watching you has good musical taste :D
He will grow up as a ragtime pianist as us!
Hopefully.
@@FilipinoFurry Wouldn't that be awesome? :D
Great!
Thanks a lot!

@@Tarzoq If you learned some of Tea For Two I think you would be pretty much set to conquer ragtime and stride piano!
