  • The second part has tricky fingering as you can see in the video. This was the first time I had ever played in public so I was very nervous but it worked out, don't you think?
This video took place inside a second hand store, my grandmother had been talking with the owners which were happy to have me playing there.
This rag is in the public domain, meaning that the copyright has expired, meaning that I should be able to upload it without receiving any copyright claims. This wasn't at all the case when I was uploading this video, I received copyright claims from multiple bots. I even "Googled" a few of them and they turned out to be pretty well known bots claiming copyright on other people's works. In this case I don't think it's fair to the composer (Joseph Lamb) that made the copyright in 1919, which has since then expired and been put into public domain.
Recorded on the 20th of November in 2021 using a Zoom H1n microphone with no effects and an iPhone (Sorry for vertical video).
That piano was on sale for 800kr ($87,86) but it has since then been sold. I think it resonates quite well with a ragtime tune like this.

The little guy is in awe and might take up the piano on account of seeing you play.

Wonderful - good for you to sit down and play in public like that! It’s a great rag - always love listening to it.

ooof, I can tell that the arpeggios in the second part are hard, just keep practicing, you'll get it once you drill it into your head enough xD You should try playing some Art Tatum arpeggios and work on those until you can get a spotless run. Then come back to this and you'll probably have a crazy easy time xD Nice playing and I can't wait for more!

I just tried to play through the second part again and played it through with no problems. I think stage fright played a big part in me messing up.
I should definitely try to play some Art Tatum arpeggios since that can always come in handy.
Thank you for your lovely comment!

@@Tarzoq Stage fright can definitely be a pain to deal with, but I usually just concentrate on not making a fool of myself and playing the notes right which is probably why I don't screw up too badly when I play live. But yeah, public playing takes some getting used to.

@@PiotrBarcz This was actually the first time ever I was performing in public, at one point I even had a panic attack so I had to stop playing for a moment.
But I'm sure that next it will be much easier. :D
