I just watched this and found myself enlightened so much. I heard him giving advises to young actors once, to go outside, to live, to feel the world, to enlighten themselves, to have opinions about society, gather information and that's how they will have the ability to react whatever script they read. The thing I love bout Alan is because he's not just an actor, he is a political being, an intellectual being and he knows life. And he acted upon it. I admire it very, very much

@@zvukoper it is said in psychology that if we control ourselves too much and set ourselves rules (with e.g. words such as 'should' 'shouldn't' 'must' 'have to' etc. you can see Nonviolent Communication - it has quite a great discussion about how these words harm ourselves and others) we oppress our aggressivity (which is our life force and what's alive in us really) and end up attacking ourselves, costing ourselves energy, and people who judge themselves too much very often end up with cancer - one of the worst attacks on oneself, probably just other than suicide :'(
(just to be clear, aggressivity doesn't mean that we attack people all the time, it's just that if there is no control and just acceptance we eventually grow out of it and don't need to control ourselves to not attack people - it just naturally turns into passion and confidence when matured - I have actually read parents' records of their parenting about how they accepted their children's attacks and never tried to control them and the outcome is as said above. We do see a lot of those in Alan too. He did always mention the word 'release' when asked about how he felt about playing his villains.)
So I thought this wouldn't happen to Alan since it looks like he lived it all out in his films and theatre performances - but maybe he did spend more time with his self-control than with giving himself freedom and acceptance :'(
