That word of faith fellowship reminds me of the International Church of Christ. Read about them some years back. They basically took control of your life. Telling you where to go to school, what to major in, where to work and who to marry.
I’m less than a minute into this video (before the actual list), and I can say that anyone NOT in Scientology thinks Scientology is a cult. I’m kind of mad my phone just capitalized it twice like my phone is acknowledging their cult. Did I mention the word cult? Because it’s a cult.
Well… Scientology is a cult. Japan has recognized it as such, Germany too. Remember, those two countries have a BIG history with cults, so if they say its a cult, I will 100% believe it. Edit: They recognize them as predatory businesses. I had to fact check myself real quick. But still, they aren’t recognized as an official religion
I always like how these cults make you get rid of everything you own ,yet the leader lives in big place with all kinds of material stuff. That should be the first sign to people it's a cult. leader lives like royalty and doesn't follow the rules he preachs but you have to.
Sounds like a lot of megachurches and tv preachers out there. Their followers don't have to get rid of *everything* but they have to give a good percentage of money and time, plus do what they say or be shunned or abused.
Not a sign that is easily visible when recruiters are sent out to find 'troubled people' to ensnare. Recruiters will be out on the streets to start a conversation, gain trust and give an invite to a place that 'will help' their targets leave behind their troubles with an idyllic living. Of course the targets only see a lovely place to be, fronted by the 'friendly' higher up people. When you are 'troubled' and arrive at a place like that, you probably won't be thinking of how it's funded, are they really bad people and what really goes on behind the facade. You will only know after weeks of being a member, the eventual realisation of what happens when you disagree and try to leave....then they ask you to part with some or all you're money!
In the words of Creed Bratton in The Office. "I've been part of a number of cults, both as a leader and a follower. You make more money as a leader, but you have more fun as a follower."
It's wild how you noted you were excluding the very most stark and striking example of the subject at hand, and yet made a prominent note of it at the very start
The Raelism one sounded Scientology-esque. Not only that, but it seemed like the least bat shit insane one on this list (despite being a UFO cult). I only say that because there's no count of murders in watchmojo's explanation.
I live about 20 minutes from one of these and pass by it on the way to work. Members own lots of businesses in the area and it’s crazy how many stories I’ve heard of them being able to escape legal trouble. As a Christian myself, it’s scary to see that they take such extreme actions and do so many awful things all while claiming to be Christian themselves. It really ruins the reputation for the rest of us. Not all churches and religious organizations are bad, but there are very few good ones left in my opinion.
Being religious years ago was a little more forgivable, being religious today when everybody has a smartphone is fucking lol. You gotta be straight up stupid or grifting
I mean, have you read the Bible? Slavery, infanticide, multiple genocides, torture. Rape. Christianity is wack af. You're in a cult. It's just a popular one.
u r worried about them doing what they r doing? it seems like u r trying to distiguish yourself from "them" but u dont say who they are and why you are different.
@@yamsarethepower I get what you’re saying. Not trying to sound hypocritical. Just trying not to give out too much information about myself on the internet. Guess I probably could’ve kept from commenting at all but I was in a weird mood that day.
"He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them." (Luke 21:8)
It used to boggle my mind, how people get drawn into a cult. Then I learned its all psychological manipulation and very unfortunate circumstances the individuals find themselves in.
What di you think "Woke" is? A Religion or Cult can be any ideology that you hold to, even when it has no basis in the truth. Ask anyone who cares about their career and future, "What is a Woman" and you will see that they are unable to answer. It's the identical fear, brainwashing and mind control, only in a different form.
@@crissoa I do think the whole line that "anyone could fall into a cult" is remove any responsibility or stigma towards those who do. I think when you start with one false statement, you start to wonder what else is misleading. For example: I know I once did some reading on that group Joachim Phoenix's family was raised in. Flirty fishing was not as described in this video. Instead women in particular were sent out to pick up men, including have sex with them, with the purpose of bringing them into the group. Or to get money via prostitution for the group. The women were coerced/forced to do this. Makes me wonder what else was mixed up or left out here?
The Harvest Center outside of Albany, Wisconsin has to be one of the weirdest cults. Founder is Tom Thorpe, who’s argued for years that he is not a cult leader but has forced people many times to sell all possessions and remove themselves from family in the name of God.
A friend of mine literally was asked on our university campus to join Shinchonji, a korean cult. It's actually scare to know that some of them are in the middle of our society
When she was younger, my Mom was nearly recruited by a cult (I think the Family). A friend invited her to attend a meeting but she turned them down. Am I ever glad, she did.
@@julieporter7805The flirty fishers? I came across someone who had been recruited by a girl he met in a bar and started dating. It turned out she was actually only 16 and he told me her family had got him to move in with them and convert to "Christianity." (He was an Iranian asylum seeker, a client at my place of work, a refugee organisation.) It seemed very odd to me that a devout Christian family would be OK with their 16 year old daughter sleeping with men she picked up in bars. He told me they made him move in with them and work for them like a slave, both in and outside the home, turning over any money to them. He became very disillusioned when his "girlfriend" went out one night and brought home a new man that she slept with at the house. After my suspicions were aroused I did some digging. Turns out The Family, as they had been going by at that time, was still active and here they were in the NE of England. He was a vulnerable target, later I had to call the CAT team and he was sectioned. I was stunned this was going on under our noses. That was around 2003.
I was ready to join them . I am so glad I didnt . I would not harm children. I was attracted to them because of their modern attitude to faith . Then I saw faults . Prostitution to gain converts to their idea of christianity, supporting terrorist groups in the Middle East . And of course the child abuse . It got me thinking that it was definately not for me .
Yeah hiding behind 'well they are an offially recognized religion so......., so we wont get sued and harrassed by them for telling the truth about their horrible exploitative organisation'
When I was homeless at 17 the unifi action church tried to lure me inti their church with food I never eent bevase I noticed there were bars on the windows and a locked gate never went
I don't know about that - these cults doesn't have any real power in the society, which - to me at least - makes their beliefs less wierd. I mean Scientology has somehow become somewhat accepted, even though it's both weirder and way more dangerous to the society. (And *no* - I don't even feel safe writing this little comment on RUclips)
@@Foxiz You have a point. Their tax-exempt status makes them seem an accepted religion but they have all the hallmarks of a cult, including the gaslighting and exploitation of their members. Tom Cruise sure doesn't help the situation.
Only difference between a cult and a religion is the amount of followers really, I guess Scientology is gaining followers. And these ppl acting like Scientology is any more dangerous than Islam, Christianity or Judaism are fooling themselves.
I’m sorry mojo but Scientology should be at the top of list. Cults all have the same outline and disconnection from your family who don’t believe and society is the first thing they make you do! Jehovah witnesses should be on there too!
@@ticklemebreathless1394 I can't understand it either. Although I was never a Jehovah's Witness, and I never will be, I'm already fully aware of the deceptions, misleading half-truths, and outright lies within the Watchtower's teachings and beliefs. I'm also fully aware of the controversy surrounding how Jehovah's Witnesses handle cases of child sexual abuse. They're also INSANELY anti-LGBTQ+, which is even more problematic for those who were raised as Jehovah's Witnesses and came out as gay/lesbian/bisexual/trans. ...And MY GOSH, DON'T even get me started by how Jehovah's Witnesses treat former members who left. The saddest thing about this is how the shunning, as well as the harmful teachings, have affected many people's mental and emotional well-being, some of who tragically committed suicide. Although they may be less violent than other cults, and although there are good people within the organization, that doesn't make Jehovah's Witnesses any less dangerous. We need to spread awareness about how dangerous this cultish organization actually is, and help current members wishing to leave to gain the courage to do so. Although the Watchtower Society may try to stop us from spreading this vital message about the dangers of Jehovah's Witnesses, we WILL NOT stay silent any longer.
The secret in creating a "Successful" cult is to establish a Rank system in the cult. This method is a well known psychological phenomenon where the "Rankee", aspire to get to the highest Rank possible where the leader is. A Ranking system in its core principle is what keeps the establishment running whether it's a cult or "earning points" in sales.
Anyone thinking cults would not be able to get you to join up, please think again. Thee followers are not stupid or gullable; they are looking for meaning. Cult leaders play into very ancient very useful (survival) instincts. These people know EXACTLY what buttons to push. Please learn the signs of cults and remain vigilant.
I dated a Moonie. The fact that he was in a relationship with a non believer meant he was breaking a major rule. But he still insisted that his children will be set up with their future partners by the church. But it's ok if he picks his own partner. As long as I converted. I really didn't want to. Thankfully we're not together anymore lol. That was fucked up.
@@NerdSnipingBatman the short answer is: brain damage I developed brain lesions from what turned out to be multiple sclerosis early in the relationship. so not only was my cognition hindered, it screwed up my brain chemistry pretty badly, and the depression that followed resulted in a very low self esteem where I settled for far less than I should have. But that was 12 years ago and now I'm doing so much better and happily married, so it all turned out ok in the end.
@@onionbubs386 so you both had brain damage and it looks like only you recovered from it 😜 I'm convinced anyone who actually joins a cult and isn't born into one isn't the sharpest crayon 🖍️.
Watching this makes you realise how much humans need to feel part of something and that there are oddballs out there that are masters at exploiting that!! It seems people will believe anything to satisfy that need. 😢
Exactly what I said some people are lonely don't have friends or family. they just have the need to belong to something. 😢 It's sad I wish I could be friends with everyone who needs a friend. Or someone to talk to or lean on.
Any group that has you disconnect from family, friends and give up possessions, are evil wolves in sheep's clothing. They trap people who are looking to fill emptiness inside themselves, or seeking some connection to God. There are a lot of young people out there looking for something to help them and these are usually the easiest victims.
It occurs to me that people with a strong sense of self don't get taken in by cults. It's those people who long to be a part of a "family" that are willing to be taken in by charlatans....
My mother discovered Raëlism when I was young. She was not a part of the cult, but for years believed the teachings and tried forcing the family into the ideology. Disappeared for awhile, later found out she was manic and dangerous.
I agree. We all have to have good moments and bad ones. To live in happiness is wishful thinking. And besides, people following such a hypocritical path by a delusional hypocrite wants to see people suffer
Qualities and characteristics of a cult : 1. The group displays an excessively zealous and unquestioning commitment to its leader, and (whether he is alive or dead) regards his belief system, ideology, and practices as the Truth, as law. 2.Questioning, doubt, and dissent are discouraged or even punished. 3.Mind-altering practices (such as meditation, chanting, speaking in tongues, denunciation sessions, or debilitating work routines) are used in excess and serve to suppress doubts about the group and its leader(s). 4.The leadership dictates, sometimes in great detail, how members should think, act, and feel (e.g., members must get permission to date, change jobs, or marry-or leaders prescribe what to wear, where to live, whether to have children, how to discipline children, and so forth). 5.The group is elitist, claiming a special, exalted status for itself, its leader(s), and its members (e.g., the leader is considered the Messiah, a special being, an avatar-or the group and/or the leader is on a special mission to save humanity). 6.The group has a polarized, us-versus-them mentality, which may cause conflict with the wider society. 7. The leader is not accountable to any authorities (unlike, for example, teachers, military commanders, or ministers, priests, monks, and rabbis of mainstream religious denominations). 8. The group teaches or implies that its supposedly exalted ends justify whatever means it deems necessary. This may result in members participating in behaviors or activities they would have considered reprehensible or unethical before joining the group (e.g., lying to family or friends, or collecting money for bogus charities). 9. The leadership induces feelings of shame and/or guilt in order to influence and control members. Often this is done through peer pressure and subtle forms of persuasion. 10. Subservience to the leader or group requires members to cut ties with family and friends, and radically alter the personal goals and activities they had before joining the group. 11. The group is preoccupied with bringing in new members. 12. The group is preoccupied with making money. 13. Members are expected to devote inordinate amounts of time to the group and group-related activities. 14. Members are encouraged or required to live and/or socialize only with other group members. 15. The most loyal members (the “true believers”) feel there can be no life outside the context of the group. They believe there is no other way to be, and often fear reprisals to themselves or others if they leave-or even consider leaving-the group. I see #1,#2,quite a bit of #5, #6, especially 7 , 8 , and oh boy #12 in one group in America - MAGA - so is it a cult? you tell me .
I had a old friend that believed in Raelism. Literally spoke to me for over an hour trying to convince me. As I’m an Aithest I did not believe him but just nodded my head waiting for him to finish. Haven’t spoken to him in years but doubt that he still doesn’t believe that.
They use brain washing, ghost lighting, manipulation, and typically seek out vulnerable people or put people in a vulnerable position before recruiting them. You're easily able to avoid them if you're vigilant, but susceptible if they find a vulnerability to exploit. That's what makes them dangerous.
Anyone can end up in a situation like this. Believing you can't be is the vulnerability that would be exploited. It's very important to know how vulnerable we ALL are to being bamboozled. In order be bamboozled, we must first bamboozle ourselves.
@@Clo_DubEven the most mentally sound soldier who has been trained to resist things like this can be broken to the point of insanity. No one is exempt. This is the same concept as what they do to POWs. They train for years to withstand. Torture, sleep and food deprivation are only a few things. If their released they don't bounce back. PTSD takes over, therapy, medication, mental disorders can follow. Divorce and sadly getting other tendencies and following through with them. No one is immune. You can buy books that can actually teach you how to break other's using basic psychology. It's very real and very scary.
Yeah you're not outside this list mate. The people who claim to "follow Jesus" are a horrific cult which would have crucified that young, intelligent, kind and helpful Galilean carpenter all over again.
This was an unusually good Watch Mojo video. I have been studying cults on my own and observing them since 1975, But I have never heard of the majority of these groups. Also, I did not spot any errors in the descriptions of the groups that I did already know about. Very often, in videos talking about cults, there are errors, and people accuse you of defending them when you point this out. Finally, I like the Wink wink nudge nudge way that they dealt with the lawsuit happy church of Scientology. By saying "We are not going to describe this group as a cult, even though many people believe that they are one."
There have been countless former members of Scientology that have told about the strange inner workings of the organization. And for you WatchMojo to not include them is rather concerning.
@@peanut_toast999 maybe not all Christians, but all churches. Ritualistic and some really creepy. They have changed the bible and pushed people out, that they don't think are worthy. So I would say that it is more or less a cult.
I am no expert but I have studied body language markers, specifically when people are lying or making things up and how open to having their views or ideals debated....a lot of these cults use gentle words with aggressive gestures.
Back in the early 70s, I was in a religious cult called The Restored Israel of Yahweh, led by a man claiming to be the resurrected prophet Jeremiah, who would, of course, not die but would lead all of us to the "Kingdom" of Yahweh. He died in 2000, about a month before I got back together with my husband, into the marriage that the cult broke up. The cult is still together. God help the chlidren!
Weird but a lot of the criteria that you are using to describe these cults also applies to the most "officially recognized religions". And just because some governments and millions of people find them acceptable that doesn't mean they aren't dangerous, ridiculous, manipulative, money-grubbing and deceptive collectives of delusional control freaks. A "religion" is just a really popular and powerful cult. Oh, and I thought I saw Ma in the thumbnail. Interesting fact: a certain famous American folk musician (think long anti-war song about a diner) become a devotee of the Kashi Ashram in the late 80's/really 90s. He also later become a Republicant, causing his even more famous socialist folk-singing father to spin in his grave yet again. But yeah, my girlfriend at the time got sent to the Sebastian compound by her mother who was the bookkeeper for this musician. The letters I got while she was there were just bizarre. But apparently this Ma was a really good rock drummer.
to be fair, i'm lowkey glad that they didn't include scientology on this list, cause they've been talked about to death by every other list and their grandmother's lists. like i love learning about these new weirdos and all these different cults. keeps things fresh :)
Same. It's tired, in this category. There've been several high profile documentaries on it, not to mention because of the celebrity members it's frequently been featured in the news and general media. I hadn't heard of *any* of the other cults in this video.
@@Chrisjbennett89 i don't think they're getting away with anything, cause everyone knows they're basically a cult anyway. they're just giving some lesser known cults the time to "shine" so to speak. i don't think any of the cults mentioned here have ever had their own stand-alone documentaries or any discussions about them. scientology on the other hand, have definitely had MANY.
I agree I love stuff about cults but scientology bores the hell out of me and the fact that it's a money cult it's not as interesting L. Ron Hubbards life pre scientology is pretty interesting though he did a satanic ritual with Jack Parsons and stole his boat
@@Chrisjbennett89Like the video says it's left out because it's an officially recognized religion. But then they included fundamentalist Mormans. And we know there are PLENTY of fundamentalist splinter groups of all big religions that are at least as bad, if not way worse, as the ones listed here
Only 3 years ago, my friend and I got drawn into relationships with girls from that Osho cult. We thought it was just an harmless yoga and meditation group but I got concerned when I noticed all her friends had black boyfriends, their homes were all furnished and decorated exactly the same, they were all vegans, they went on the same retreats, and had the same guru. My girlfriend's demands for sex were at first flattering but then turned aggressive like she was possessed. I swear it felt like my soul was being drained. A succubus spirit. My friend said he felt the same draining energy at night, but blamed something else. It was like the psycho thriller "Get Out" because getting out was the worst part. She turned everyone against me, i even lost my best friend because she convinced everyone that I was the abusive one - an easy sell for rejected women. It was horrendous. At my lowest point I noticed a billboard message saying Christ Loves You. I'd seen it a thousand times before but then it meant much more this time. If my creator loves what he created with his own hands why should I care if I'm rejected by anyone? I wasted my whole adult life trying to be the "ladies man" now its time to rediscover the authentic me. To get 'Born Again' I guess. I am now a loner and I love it. I have never felt one second of loneliness, insecurity or need for approval since.
That speaks volumes that you couldn’t include Scientology when they are clearly cult. Wow I knew they had serious money and I know how “far” that gets people but wow they got more then i realized smh
An idea popped up in my head for a video game, and i think that people would gladly play... A fighting game where all of these cult leaders are selectable characters.. 🙃
The Open Arms church in Bradford, PA is very strange and cult like. They gave me gifts the first time I went to the sermon, said that I had to give more than 10% of my income to them and then i received a very racy postcard that read "do you like sex? God does and he wants you to as well". That was enough for me 😂
signs its a cult not a religion 1.) Charismatic Leader 2.) Preaching that all those close to you and outside world is your enemy 3.) leader claiming they are a god or what ever 4.) Mass deaths 5.) Prevent any contact with anyone 6.) too controlling
In the mid-1970s, I became a devotee of Guru Maharaji, whose followers worshipped him as the Perfect Master, or modern Messiah. At that time, the group was very much a cult, but it changed, years after I left, into more of a spiritual self-help group. To this day it exists as such. Maharaji goes by his legal name, Prem Rawat, and runs a charitable foundation. I don't know whether his teachings are genuine or not.
How can there a "cult list" with NO SCIENTOLOGY at the top ?!? I understand you don't wanna get sued but it feels weird talking about all these obscure cults while the big one is going unmentioned....
"we won't include "recognised" religions like Scientology" Translation: "we at WatchMojo are too chickenshit to actually call Scientology a cult for fear of a lawsuit"
Jeez , if you guys included scientology ,would the group dump emails and threats of lawsuits like they allegedly did to others openly criticizing scientology ?
I wouldn't really consider Catholicism as a cult, but it can get very, very close to it. You can leave the Catholic church. In a cult, you don't leave unless you die. Same with mormonism, too. Scientology. That's a cult.
I lost my belief of religion because of how people treated other who didn’t follow their beliefs and how they tried to force their beliefs on people despite the fact that they are hypocrites, this video reassures why I don’t believe in god or any religion even atheist
There is a very fine line between worshiping and following a God, and worshiping and following a human leader…and when that line is crossed, it gets dangerous.
@@StinkyWizleteetsworshipping your creator is not dangerous, in fact you will get more humble and get many positives without having to pay anything. I was surprised how many of these groups were founded and/or led by women. My education on starting cults, which comes from the show, "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt", makes that seem unlikely, if possible at all. But seriously, it's beyond me how people allow themselves to be dominated so completely by another person or group.
I remember at my job I worked with a guy who was from the South and came to California where he was living in an apartment with other churchgoers. He was part of a group led by a charismatic pastor who encouraged him and his followers to leave their lives behind in Texas and move with him. That was already sketchy enough but the coworker was someone who found god after a life of addiction and was very kind. He invited me to a service once and I accepted. The moment I saw the pastor, I was already thinking this is weird because he was escorted at all times by bodyguards. I’m Catholic and not even our bishops get vip treatment like that. Just seeing that alongside the leaving lives behind to follow this man made me realize this was a cult. The congregants were very friendly but yeah I never went back there again after that.
Only the IRS, for tax purposes, iirc. I'm pretty sure that in the US it's unconstitutional for the government to officially recognize any religion at all.
Something like this happened to a church in Halifax NS …a new pastor moved in & then started to bully & spiritually abuse the Church members and place ultimatums for service that deeply disadvantaged citizens. It was the start of a personality cult that people stopped & walked away from. If you think your life is being dominated in the area of finances family contacts or sexual/personal relationships-you NEED TO STEP BACK and re-examine what is going on.
I met someone who was raised in The Family International cult. What happened to her was devastating and she’s still working through what she went through well into her 50s.
19:30 y’all I was literally invited into this cult by an older couple. They gave me a card and encouraged me to talk with them about it I have not called for obvious reasons
For those of you watching and want to know how many cults and cultists are in Japan, it's a fucking LOT on both accounts. I've lived here for going on six years and I've lived in a few prefectures. There's a town in Gunma prefecture called Ota that's like half cultists. I'm not entirely sure why, but these kind of insane cults are just commonplace here. Alef is almost a sort of legend these days, but Happy Science is EVERYWHERE and there's another cult that's pretty big, though I don't know the name. Much like Aum though, they're huge and they have some amount of political influence. They worship Mt. Fuji as their god. In towns like Ota, you can even find young children doing their part by handing out fliers for the cult. They asked me to get on their bus once to go pray to the mountain but I nope'd right the fuck out.
You wouldn’t talk about Scientology being a cult but talking about the FLDS being a cult is okay? Don't get me wrong they're both cults in my opinion. My guess is you guys don't wanna get sued by Scientology??
I went to Osho Rajneesh when I was 20 years old. Spent many years with him when he was alive. Including working for about two years and his house in India. Yes there was shit that happened around him. I came with a lot of garbage that needed cleaning up when I went to him. And my experience of being with him was phenomenal. It has change my life for the better. It has freed me so much of the programming that we are all filled with in our heads. Being with him shifted me from being a victim of a brutal childhood into Seeing I was a victim of my unconscious brutal mind. He pointed me back to the peace that is inside me. And that is inside all of us. It’s unbelievable how much of a life I have now thanks to Him pointing me back to something deeper clearer and freer inside me. He was unbelievably brilliant.

Flirty fishing was not as described in this video. Instead women in particular were sent out to pick up men, including have sex with them, with the purpose of bringing them into the group. (He was an Iranian asylum seeker, a client at my place of work, a refugee organisation.)
It seemed very odd to me that a devout Christian family would be OK with their 16 year old daughter sleeping with men she picked up in bars. He told me they made him move in with them and work for them like a slave, both in and outside the home, turning over any money to them. He became very disillusioned when his "girlfriend" went out one night and brought home a new man that she slept with at the house. After my suspicions were aroused I did some digging.

I wouldn't really consider Catholicism as a cult, but it can get very, very close to it. You can leave the Catholic church. In a cult, you don't leave unless you die. Same with mormonism, too. Scientology. That's a cult.
Evangelists are the worst
In that case, Christianity is 4th.
True love is helping someone in true need when NO ONE is watching.
Thank you for this but I'm terrified. I need wine and a hug.
I lost my belief of religion because of how people treated other who didn’t follow their beliefs and how they tried to force their beliefs on people despite the fact that they are hypocrites, this video reassures why I don’t believe in god or any religion even atheist
Couldn't have said it better myself❤
These are so crazy that Scientology, the Westboro Baptist Church, and IBLP don't even make the top 20!
Westboro is based.
@@definitelynotanAIchatbot Westboro is sick, appearing to be based in hatred.
There is a very fine line between worshiping and following a God, and worshiping and following a human leader…and when that line is crossed, it gets dangerous.
Worshipping anything is dangerous whether it's human leaders or imaginary gods
@@StinkyWizleteetsworshipping your creator is not dangerous, in fact you will get more humble and get many positives without having to pay anything. Besides that worship can come in many forms, football fans worship their sport, rock fans worship their bands, car freaks worship cars. They dont admit it but if you get too attached with something it becomes a form of worship. Most likely you worship something too without even knowing
@@StinkyWizleteets we will have to agree to disagree on that one. I worship a good and loving God, and if I choose not to be a part of my church or worship at home on my own and pick and choose whatever I want to follow and not be involved in anything organized, that’s perfectly fine. I am totally in control, which is 100% the difference. But if you don’t agree, that’s perfectly fine as well.
@@bluelightmoon777 this is exactly true. There are so many faiths out there where the person is completely in control with whatever they choose to do or not choose to do and there is absolutely no pressure. My faith is my personal faith and beliefs and I am in control, 100%. I have no obligation to go to anything or give a certain amount of money to anyone or participate in anything I don’t really want to participate in. There is no pressure or guilt tripping. I also do acknowledge that a lot of people have had terrible experiences with certain religions, and I can understand why they have views like this, which is unfortunate, but there are a lot of toxic beliefs and organizations out there that border on doing some scary things under the guise of being a good religion. But there are also some great faith practices out there that are wonderful, you just have to find out what works for you. And yes, plenty of people worship things other than a God. It just depends what you decide to put your adoration into.
@@bluelightmoon777 "Worshipping your creator is not dangerous"...... *looks at every major religious war since people pretended gods exist and you should worship them* 😂
Should include MLMs like Amway and Herbalife.
Watching how many people voluntarily wore masks and got the clot shot, is a clear proof how easily people are fooled.
Was it the international churches of Christ or your international Christian Church
This could literally be just a list of religious sects and it would still qualify as they're ALL cults.
Huh. I would've added the Westboro Baptist Church, honestly. Maybe they don't qualify, but they should.
Maybe do a video on Amway 🎉
I found one thread that runs through almost all of the cults, their leaders became wealthy by starting a cult. Gee, who could see that coming?
Not surprised that Scientology isn't on this list. Don't wanna open that can of decomposed worms
Scientology is an “officially recognized religion”? by who??
Only the IRS, for tax purposes, iirc. I'm pretty sure that in the US it's unconstitutional for the government to officially recognize any religion at all.
@@davidfortier6976IRS. Follow the money!
Unfortunately, Jehovah's Witnesses, another organization I consider a cult, fall under that, too... 😞😓💔
Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Kirsty Alley.......
...bill clinton signed the bill in the 90s recognizing them as a religion and giving tax exemption...
The only difference between a cult and a religion is about a thousand years.
I used to have to deal with Stuart Trail on a regular basis, super creep! His "wife" wasn't much better
The Ant Hill Kids: "Look what they need to do just to mimic a fraction of our power!"
19:30 y’all I was literally invited into this cult by an older couple. They gave me a card and encouraged me to talk with them about it
I have not called for obvious reasons
I didn’t know the FLDS were inviting people in. Weird.
MAGAts. Weirdos, traitors and losers with Daddy issues.
Beeb, boop, bop! 😂
Even tho they aren’t active anymore (that we know of) the Golden Order of the Hermetic Dawn was crazy AF
They are a #Freemasonic organisation? I Think they are still pretty normal compared to the other brain-diarrhea-cults on this list
Christianity, Islam, catholicism, ect...
They are still around
Who says they aren't around 😂❤
What were they about. ?
FLDS, I find terrifying after watch Eat, Pray, and Obey.
I am LDS and FLDS people are bat crap crazy.
That doc creeped me out.
Think you've mixed it up with eat, pray love haha😂. The documentary is called Keep Sweet, Pray and Obey
Stay safe out there thats so scary 😨
We studied Scientology in a sociology class on cults.
People are starved for an void in their souls,so sad.
In 2000 , we lived in Oceanside California and went once to the Rosecrucian service , it was different.
You wouldn’t talk about Scientology being a cult but talking about the FLDS being a cult is okay?
Don't get me wrong they're both cults in my opinion. My guess is you guys don't wanna get sued by Scientology??
Alison Mack was involved with NXIVM
