You missed the Residential School of Canada where Indigenous children were ripped from their homes and placed in church run schools. Over 150 years the clergy, beat, abused, assaulted and experimented on children. Many of the Indigenous children were killed and buried in unmarked graves with no records. How in the world did this not make it into the list. The pope just apologised for this travesty in 2022.
My grandfather had the best saying: Everyone loves talking about the halos above their heads, but no one talks about the devil horns holding it up there.
@@DIABOLICAL-6 Sounds like just another Christian. The 'halo' was derived from the Egyptian sun disc. 'Amen' is paying homage to the Egyptian sun-god, Amun-ra. If you read the Old Testament, you'll find no depiction of the devil with 'devil horns'. A serpent, sometimes. He 'disguises himself'. The whole thing is a childish rip-off. MOST Christians are just faking it.

NEVER give money to a televangelist. They don't need it, for one. And it won't guarantee your entry into heaven. It's sad that people actually believe that.
@@undrwatropium3724 only putting your faith in Jesus Christ and living like it from then on is a guaranteed trip to heaven. As Christians we are not perfect but that’s what true repentance is for ask forgiveness and do not repeat the sin. Now for me with the issue that I have, it is harder for me but I work daily and nightly to renew my mind in Christ so that I can be free of certain online content
My grandmother was one of the people who gave away their money to Tilton. She was a widow and fighting cancer at the time. People who use religion to take advantage of others, are the worst.
Tilton used to scream into the camera and ask people what they were waiting for. The real question was, what was ole Bob waiting for. The answer is that he was waiting for as many people that he could deceive, so that they would raid their piggy banks, and send in their biggest denominations of U.S. Currency, and get him to Millionaire Acres. Scoundrels, all of them!!!
I am genuinely speechless that you left out Native Americans and First Nations children in this list. These children were ripped from their families and were abused by missionaries with sexual, manual, physical and mental abuse, occurring mostly in church-run schools. The federal governments not only took away their culture and identities by cutting their hair, refusing to let them speak their native language, and changing their name to an English name, all in the name of "Christianizing" them. Theses schools run by missionaries that were funded by the federal governments, lasted from the 17th century to being mostly shut down in 2007 with roughly 9,500 attending. The abuses of the children were only discovered in the late 20th century. There are still hundreds of deceased children that have yet to be discovered. Those who have been are just now being returned to their Tribes for burial. These children were taken from their families, land, and culture. They were forced to assimilate. They were abused and died. This went on by the hands of missionaries funded by the federal governments for 200+ years. Their bodies are just now, in the past couple of years, being returned for burial. Like I said, I am genuinely speechless this was not included.
Thank you for bringing it up! I am of Apache heritage, and I always find it kind of sad that stuff that happened to our people is always swept under the rug

Please spread this message Dasi. It’s time Indigenous people get their voices heard to the unaware population of the truth from the mistreatment of the Native Americans & First Nations.
Indeed. It makes me sick. I hate it when people use religion to get away with their heinous actions. They need to know that karma will catch up to them and when they die they won’t be meeting a kind, smiling deity. Oh no they will be met with anger and disappointment.
I understand, but the sad fact is we were told there would be many false teachers, and they would lead many to destruction. I pray that those led astray by false doctrine manage to find their way out.
As a churchgoer, I am absolutely appalled at the audacity that these priests, pastors and ministers have. Thinking they could use religion as an excuse to take advantage of people, financially, sexually abuse minors and think they can get away with it. Are they stupid? Like everybody else, religious figures need to understand that actions have consequences.
That is exactly why they chose religion. Religious people are easy to manipulate. When a child goes to their parents and says pastor bob touched me, and the parents don't believe their own child because they're brainwashed by their pastor, That is exactly why these people Choose church. it's extremely sad How many people in church like yourself Trust people simply because they say that they're men of god

One reason Swaggert fell so hard was because he publicly and viciously attacked Jim Bakker. Bakker was Jimmy's fiercest rival. The hypocrisy was palpable!
He also attacked Christian rock artists like Stryper who still to this day confess Jesus as savior. They also credit Swaggert for turning them to Christ
My husband would watch Jimmy Swaggert. I hoped it would change him because he had been involved in extra-maritals in our marriage. Then it came out Swaggert was also involved in extramarital affairs. Our marriage eventually came to an end.
the greatest irony in this video is because another Houston based television minister actually day one opened his church doors during hurricane Harvey. Dr. Ed Young of Second Baptist Church immediately responded opening up three campuses as shelters and the other two would open if needed.
You know, the Bible warned against the phoney crowd. Seriously, when did Jesus ever say: "I'll heal you but only if your faith is great and you give me money." These larger-than-life televangelists really unsettle me. Even considering how some cults always seem to require money to 'belong'. I sincerely believe that one of the greatest blasphemies is using the name of God for your own gain. It's shocking.
Although Jesus never asked for money he did state many times in his ministry that when he healed that person he would say, "Thy faith has made thee well."
I belive, If jesus could had his own tv show, at the beginning he would so his healing for free, but as soon he gets blinded by the fame and money that comes with it, he would als get a creedy person like all other tv preachers.

Mother Teresa made me so damned mad. She was supposed to be so good and such a role model and there she was abusing the sick and poor for the "good of the church". It's amazing how she got great medical care while her patients laid dying in filth.
I was raised in the Nazarene faith, my ex is Catholic. If he wasn’t scheduled for duty on the weekends we would go to Mass on Saturdays and my church on Sunday. During Mass one time a flyer was given for a picnic the following week. At the bottom it said “BYOB”. I asked my husband what it meant and he said it was “Bring Your Own Bottle”. On our way to our car I told him that that was the last time I would set foot on any soil associated with the Catholic religion. When he asked why I told him that my son, his stepson was just 3 years old and I would not have a bunch of drunks around him. I NEVER WENT BACK!
😂 I agree, and not to put down religion, but to show some spectrum of crazy out there and caution young people to make good decisions. Isn't it funny that churches were historically considered safe places with a community to share wisdom like this with the next generation? The irony...
My father used to try and force me to go to Church as a kid. Put my foot down when I was a teenager and never looked back. People/ scandals like this only solidify my choice. I’m not trying to insult anybody that does go frequently or anything but I believe you should believe in yourself first and foremost
I did the same. Flat out refused to go. The pastor from the catholic school/church I was forced to attend(through 5th grade), was recently arrested for stealing $450,000 to pay his gambling debts. There’s nothing they can teach me about morality. 🤣😂
I’m sorry to hear about your experience. I can tell you those kind of people are not true Christians. If they were, they wouldn’t have forced it on you. Genuine Christians are welcoming and inviting, not forceful and aggressive. God does say to tithe 10% of your monetary earnings to the church, but I don’t think he’ll condemn you if you can’t afford to. Anyways, again, sorry for your experiences. Those people who did that to you, they’re probably not NOT Christians, but they’re very misguided.
Facts, my dad was a pastor, so I grew up in church and was forced to go. I even gave it a real shit at 18 and man it was the worst. I was a Catholic who was raised by two generations of Catholics in my family, I went to a parochial grade school 1through 8, and served as an altar boy from fth grade though high school , I graduated from a Jesuit college and law school. In my teens I had the privilege of serving daily Mass with a priest on our trip through Europe including Masses at St, Peters on the main altar and two others, St. Peter's in Chains, the Duomo in Florence, St Marks in Venice, the Cathedral in Pisa, the Cathedral in Monaco and Several Masses in Notre Dame in Paris and in the Chuch of St. Catherine the Incorruptable to whom the Virgin Mary appeared and for whom Catherine created a medal in Her Honor. For years my faith was unwaivering until the scandals involving children and what is more horrific is the cover-up. This was not by a few, but many priests and their superoirs KNEW IT and just moved them to other parishes. My own parishes in two different towns separated by 40 miles each had a priest who was a child molester. I no longer support the church. I will not donate money to subsidize child abuse or the people that condone it. There are some sins that cannot be forgiven
@@thhdhn2 Yes, but Judas was ordained to do what he did. Those priests who molested children and the bishops and other officials that covered for them weren't part of any plan. Remember what Jesus said about innocent children and mill stones.
There is no sin that cannot be forgiven. Man may choose to not forgive another man's sin, because the sincerity and purity of the confession is not known to man. God, on the other hand, knows when the sinner is sincere in his confession and repentance, and will forgive ANY sin. But the sinner must be sincere in repenting.
A good friend of mine worked for Robert Tilton, doing sound. He and his coworker were putting in a new sound system, with fixing the mics, and such. People were not allowed to approach Tilton, without an appointment, no contact whatsoever. There was a thing going on to purchase several new van/bus vehicles, at a special price, and no one, including Tilton, was not suppose to be making a dime on it, which was stressed. One day, with the brand new mics still on, Tilton and the men involved in the purchase, ignoring my friend trying to tell them about the live mics still on them, kept walking away and talking. Both my friend and his coworker heard Tilton and then talking about how they were making all this money off the vehicle purchase. Obvious fraud, lies, etc. So my friend went to Tilton's office and told him he needed to speak to him about an urgent matter. He told him what they'd heard over the mics, and asked Tilton if he had anything to say about it. He didn't, and stood his ground,my friend pointing out what he'd heard, etc, still nothing, trying merely to sidestep and make BS excuses. No repentance, nothing. So my friend quit and left. IDK if anything further came of it, but I wasn't surprised. I'd warned my parents over years, about certain evangelist who I felt were deceiving people and had terrible sinful secrets themselves, but my parents refused to listen. Two of them were Jimmy Swagger and Jim Bakker. When they were exposed, I wasn't the least bit surprised. I didn't have any personal information on these guys, just a feeling in my heart and spirit, as to what was basically going on. I've often had to tell people, I told you so , unfortunately.
That feeling of heart and spirit you had is called discernment. Unfortunately your parents had none. God bless you for that (and your parents too, for their lack of it).
I’m a Christian. I used to watch Robert Tilton’s show to see if I could find any evidence he had any kind of ministry (feeding the hungry, helping the homeless, etc.) at all. He didn’t. Just continuously yelled for you to send all your money to him.
About 20 years ago I saw a movie based on the experiences of some of the girls imprisoned in the Magdalene laundries. It was so horrific and even more so when I realized that these girls were my age, the movie taking place in the late 60s, exactly when I was in high school. One girls was in a catholic orphanage when a priest noticed her on the playground and decided that she was too pretty for her own good and she was forced to work in the laundry for several years before she was able to escape. At the end there was a paragraph saying that the movie was based on true experiences and that once these young women were taken into a laundry many spent the rest of their lives there. And that the last one had closed in the mid 90s just a few years before the movie was made. On the way out people in front of me me were complaining about "more catholic" bashing but later I saw a documentary with some of the women whose lives were portrayed in the movie and they seemed very believable.
I have the strangest memory of Peter Popoff. I was watching Martin, and on came an ad for his Miracle Spring Water. That was the first time I’ve seen it and it’s one of the creepiest commercials I’ve ever seen
The Peter Popoff scandal reminds me of an episode of Garfield and Friends where this Swami was using the same bit with the lady reading the contents of a person's wallet to make people believe that he can read minds!
I honestly wonder how that circumcision ritual can NOT be called child abuse. I was utterly horrified to learn that a grown man is allowed or even expected to do that to a baby. It is sick and disgusting in the extreme, and no sane, loving parent would ever allow ANY adult to do that to their child! I do not care how ancient, revered, etc. this kind of thing is. It should be OUTLAWED forever!
Hi, circumcision was part of the Law of Moses. When Jesus Christ healed a man on the Sabbath day, the party that belonged to the Pharisees accused Him of breaking the Sabbath according to their interpretation of it. Jesus told them that they circumcised a new born baby boy on the Sabbath so that they may not break the Law of Moses, though it wasn't Moses who started it but their ancestors. So, at that particular point in time, circumcision was lawful as it was enshrined within the Mosaic Law. But Jesus Christ died to free us from the Law of Moses (Colossians 2:16-17). The Apostle Paul writes in his epistle that circumcision or non circumcision isn't important what matters is keeping the Commandments of God (1 Corinthians 7:19).
Jim and Tammy Baker. I was vacationing in the Orlando area at the time when the Bakers moved their TV ministry to Orlando. There were billboards which stated "Jim and Tammy, Go to Miami." I learned about where exactly where they had relocated and I just had to go see. It was a mostly abandoned strip mall which was overgrown with weeds, along with a small satellite dish. The phrase that immediately came to mind was "How the mighty have fallen."
Not me. I know people can be forgiven and restored, but I just find it difficult to trust once the truth comes out. I won't send money to any TV ministries. Only my local church and legitimate ministries I know can be trusted. Ministries that are helping children and the poor, as well as giving them the true gospel. But they are small ministries that don't live rich lifestyles and are not on TV.
In regards to the so called "Prosperity Gospel", no amount of money can save a person's soul. Anyone who tries to preach differently is not acting out of goodwill or faith in God. Salvation comes from God alone, not a checkbook.
It's very sad, really. I'm non-religious, and seeing how many high-control religious groups had gained so many followers really shows the gullibility of these people. It's sad.
There are many of these I didn't know about. At the time, I was shocked by Jimmy Swaggart. The scandal that was more recent and shocked me was about Ravi Zacharias.
I'm disgusted at the Catholic church for not taking responsibility. Babies were used in medical tests without consent and 796 bodies of babies were discovered in a mass grave, some at the site of a disused septic tank. Disgusting. Makes me so angry. Those nuns came two my great grandmothers house when her husband died saying she can't look after her children by herself, good woman chased those witches from her porch with a frying pan in her hand.
I worked for a contractor in a bank vault opening Tilton's prayer letters to pull money, checks, wedding bands, etc. We were told to throw the prayer cloths and little packets of powdered milk in the 50-gallon drum next to the table. The stacks of money from just me each day were astounding. Any jewelry was discarded as it would cost too much to convert to cash. My fingers bled from the dryness and reaching into each letter (the machine automatically cut the top off, which is why powdered milk often went everywhere). I lasted a week and only that long because I needed rent money and time to find another contracting agency. They told me they would never place me again, and I told them I would never work for them again. For years they tried to walk it back, but I eventually got into tech and moved out of Oklahoma.
Only 25% of the world's population is atheist, which, conversely, tells you that 75% are part of a religion. With numbers that large, they easily could have done a top hundred or thousand. It's just the nature of the beast.
I argue that Canadas residental school saga shouldve been on the list... those schools were run by churches of different faiths and tried to assimilate Native youth into white culture
Being spiritual and believing in god can be a wonderful thing. Being religious and belonging to a church can be an evil thing. At this point in time it sure seems like most churches are out for themselves. 😐
Exactly! That’s why it’s important to have a personal relationship with whatever you may believe in. For me I choose to follow God and refuse to idolize any MAN or WOMAN just because of their title in a church organization.

@@caroleimani9754 well 1 main reason is I was raised in it, and was pretty much taught that my identity is in the church. Like me and my friends would visit calvary chapel cause it was down the street from us and they had a cool sunday youth service with snacks and shit and we would have 2 sunday services but nothing for the youth on sunday and we got rebuked when they found out we would go to calvary chapel. Mind you, we weren't even saved yet. It was like VO was the only church chosen by god and every other church was teaching false teachings. I finally left when I realized these people are only using me for my gifts. I made music and was very comfortable behind a pulpit or doing a street rally. I was a youth leader bible study leader I was invested 100% but had my own struggles and no one to help me thru it. There was 2 situations 1 I was in a youth home had a shop but it was the late shift. Mind you I worked, was 20 ran a bible study was one of the main youth leaders but at the youth home I didnt have a car so they would have to pick me up at midnight. And i know they didnt like that. So one night after locking me up the youth home director gave me an ultimatum I either quit my job and I can stay there or if I decide to keep my job then I have to leave. What's crazy is they pushed getting a job on us and paying rent and paying tithes and offerings which is what I did but they didnt give me no reason for the ultimatum pretty much just said "we dont want work to get in the way of what you're doing for god" but I still ran my bible study was faithfully at church and all they had to do was pick me up from work cause buses didnt run and this was in 2011 uber isn't what it is now. So the best morning I packed my shit and left. Ended up having to sleep in a random dudes storage unit that i met and no one tried reaching out to me or anything. And these people claimed I was "family" which I believed cause I had grown up in it. The second situation happened within the same ministry but at a different location. It's a long story but it was the last straw for me, I saw that this shit is all about image, it's all about the works you can do for them and once you cant offer up your gifts for their ministry or you stop giving then they just forget about you and push you to the side. I know a lot of good people, genuine people who have left that ministry because they've been done wrong. And theres also people like my.parents unfortunately who continue to get used by them with nothing to show for it. My mom damn near killed herself working her ass off for those people and till this day would work her ass off to put together an event for them even tho she has lupus, hepatitis and arthritis and can spend weeks in bed cause she gets so sick. And those fuckers dont care at all. The ministry is so watered down it's so much about image and title now I mean damn near every preacher's wears yeezys when they preach 😂 it's weird, the new international youth leader wears yeezy and when he took over it's like he made it a rule you have to wear yeezys when you preach cause literally every single one of them wears yeezys behind a pulpit. I had a copy of his tape, Positive Imaging, and I wore that thing out. When I was in the hospital I listened to it practically every day. I just thought I'd provide a little counterpoint. Religiosity is not in itself a bad thing, and there are more righteous religious people than you think. These opportunists don't represent all religious people.
@@laurenpatrick4609 Religion isn't the greatest thing humanity ever invented, but _religious people_ are still _people._ And people are capable of all sorts of things, from acts of great violence to acts of monumental kindness. I refer you to the words of Jor-El in _Superman:_ "They can be a great people, Kal-El. They wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way." That light might appear at any time. It's an encouraging sign that more and more modern humans have chosen to abandon mythology and embrace science. We're getting there, but progress comes slowly. This is why I’m not religious. People hide behind the Bible and their own interpretations of what the Bible says. You don’t need a religion to know right from wrong.
I'll never forget Oral Robert's telling his congregation that Jesus told him that if he didn't raise 1,000,000.00 by a certain time, that He (Jesus) would take him (Oral Roberts) home. He didn't and He didn't. Go figure. Not only that, but I caught my 86 year old, on fixed income, Barely-making-ends-meet mother, writing a check for 100.00 to his ministry at this time. Talk about pissed off!
@@samuel.a2234 it was in February of 1987, and it was for 8 million. I Googled it under "Oral Roberts needs money fast" and several articles popped up. The best one was the L.A. Times Archives.
@@julianaadams5751 I'm not saying that crooked preachers don't exist. It's just like every other "secular" profession which also do have some bag eggs. But what I won't do is blindly condemn anyone without hardcore evidence. Again, I asked for the video/audio where Oral Robert said what you had quoted earlier. The mainstream media have always written articles about what they don't understand and blown things out of proportion. I'll take any news article with a grain of salt. Let me give you an example, some years back an American preacher was trolled, abused, you name it for purchasing a Private jet. All forms of baseless accusations were laid against. But guess what, the media forgot/misses to report that thesame Preacher & his ministry has donated over 30 airplanes to churches, charity groups, diaster relief groups for their ministry duties. You'll know the minister if I mentioned his name. This has thought me a huge lesson, never conclude on any matter untill you see full picture. I'll rest my case there.
@@samuel.a2234 it stands more to reason that the honest, spiritual men of God stand in the background and do their good deeds for the glory of God, not to see who can have the biggest church, or has the most followers. The reason I mentioned Oral Roberts is because I heard him say it with my own ears. Yes, he said it. And I had respect for him before he pulled what I consider a blatant money making scheme. To say such a thing bother me. I wonder how many elderly people went without food or electricity so God wouldn't "take him home". Another question, why is he so afraid to die? Is there something he's afraid of? Maybe that God figures he's had his glory on earth at God's expense, so he certainly doesn't need it in Heaven? That would show you right there that he knows nothing about God. He doesn't work tht way. All He requires is that a person accept Jesus as His Son and accept Him as their personal savior. That's it. Finè. Anyone can be forgiven if they are sincere. Is the gentleman you refer to regarding the airplane the one that says he can't fly commercial because there might be a Demon on the plane? I would have had more respect for him if he had been honest. " I travel a lot of miles to do God's work. I just want to be comfortable." But that still doesn't justify a multimillion dollar airplane. I'm sure there's an honest one somewhere, but "Godly televangelist " is a contradiction of terms.

A good friend of mine worked for Robert Tilton, doing sound. He and his coworker were putting in a new sound system, with fixing the mics, and such.

It should be OUTLAWED forever!
@ferociousgumby That's the synagogue of Satan for you.
Prosecuted for sure.
When you do a sequel,be sure you include Josh Duggar and Bridget and Chridtian Zeigler!!😮😅
The phrase that immediately came to mind was "How the mighty have fallen."
how about sins declared "from the housetops"?
It’s sad that even though they were caught and lost most of their audience. There are still some that stands by them 🙄
And how many of their audience came back after a while?
The idiots ones ....they don't want to se the truth
Thank you for sharing
And this is why people distrust Christianity as a whole.
In regards to the so called "Prosperity Gospel", no amount of money can save a person's soul. Anyone who tries to preach differently is not acting out of goodwill or faith in God. Salvation comes from God alone, not a checkbook.
Reminds me very much of the Church of Scientology.
One religious scandal that’s always overlooked is the Duplessis Orphans. Those unfortunate souls deserve to have their story told
It blows my mind how gullible some people are!
Yes, but there before the grace of God goes all of us.
It's very sad, really. I'm non-religious, and seeing how many high-control religious groups had gained so many followers really shows the gullibility of these people. It's sad.
Missed the residential schools in Canada. They’ve been finding huge mass graves at former residential schools in Canada
And other countries
Yea
I guess there could be a lot more videos like this and and still not cover every one that’s ever happened. It’s sad.

also Robert Tilton will forever be known as the farting preacher.
I remember "Last week With John Oliver" when he talked about that guy. STILL doing his scam.
@Kuntryboi1981 I just remember those videos of him making those puzzling facial expressions.. he left the doors wide open for the boot jokes.
Me too! Haha 😂

I agree, not all church is bad. But it’s very profitable if you tell people what they want to hear, and not tell them what they need to hear.
Trust me when you are outside of the walls of religion it's easy to see through all the B.S in this world of ours.
The fact that its top 20 and not top 10 speaks volumes.
Only 25% of the world's population is atheist, which, conversely, tells you that 75% are part of a religion. With numbers that large, they easily could have done a top hundred or thousand. It's just the nature of the beast.
And i can think of several more that were not addressed-Jim Jones, Bennie Hinn. Smh.
This video should be seen by everyone
I argue that Canadas residental school saga shouldve been on the list... those schools were run by churches of different faiths and tried to assimilate Native youth into white culture
Should have been #1. The fact that it wasn't on the list is disgusting.
Wait what. Surely its important for kids to learn bout different cu5

Yep, I agree.
not only in this list, but number 1. period
This is one of the few WatchMojo lists that I can agree with.

Jim Bakker is still up to his old tricks.

@@tiffanysanchez9184 I heard he was selling survivalist equipment to prepare for the end of the world. Might as well make a buck while you're waiting.
@@tiffanysanchez9184 No, he's 84 years old and was still preaching on tv until late last year. He was also selling bogus Covid cures which he eventually had to refund everyone's money on. His son is also taking over where daddy left off to rip off more people.
When did Jim Baaker die? He and his wife sell all sorts of stuff on his programs from tiny generators to silver solutions, creams and such, and always books and Bibles at outrageous prices. Three or four years ago they even took a second honeymoon, his and Tammys children held down the program while they were gone. Some people might think it’s not right to watch these programs but sometimes they are just comical and of course Jim always needs money since they have their “bed and breakfast” business in Branson and he was so persecuted.

Many years ago, I was flipping channels, and I came across Robert Tipton. I watched for a few minutes. I started laughing. At that instant, Tipton opened his eyes, looked at the camera, and said, "Someone's laughing at me!" I was startled. Comedian Ron White had a similar experience. I could relate! 😆
I remember that Ron White was telling his story during the Blue Collar Comedy Tour! I recall that he said something along the lines about sitting naked eating Cheetos!

My radar goes up every time I hear them begging for money. They tell you to do it fast so you don't think of asking yourself can I afford it. There are still many of these types around. Kenneth Copeland, Jesse Duplantis, Joyce Meyers, Mike Murdock, Benny Hinn, Creflo Dollar, Richard Roberts, Kenneth Hagin's son, TBN, Joel Osteen, Paula White,T.D. Jakes and Rod Parsley to name some.
I live about 20 minutes from Earl Paulk's old church. It's called Greater Travelers Rest now. Several movies and tv shows have been filmed there. The street it on, Flat Shoals Pkwy, had just been renamed for Earl Paulk Pkwy, right before the sonphew story broke. They snatched his name right back off that street.
John MacArthur publicly rebuked a woman who was seeking a separation from her husband despite the woman saying that the man had been abusive to her and the children and doing truly sick things with kids. The husband is now spending life in jail and MacArthur and his disciples refuse to say he did anything wrong
Side note: I'm a Christian, but think MacArthur's actions are a fireable offense
Well MacArthur won’t be greeted by the heavenly host when he passes on. His actions in this life will have consequences on his afterlife.
18000 people thought that God would double their money. Love it !!! Hallelujah 😇
I grew up in a ministry victory outreach but I actually got "saved" in 2008 and starting getting involved in the church. Worst decision of my life 😭 wasted 4 years and finally made a decision to leave the corruption. Oh and the perversion cause those youth leaders prey on the young girls I seen it in my very own local church. Left in 2012 and I couldn't imagine going back. Fuck that place lol
And they honestly don't seem to know why people are leaving the church in droves 🙄🙄
Why did you stay so long??
But they do it so they can get brownie points
@@undrwatropium3724 good people are leaving too that's the thing. If it was a bunch of shitty people leaving then you can pass the blame around. But when good men and women who have put in work and served god to the fullest are leaving your ministry then its probably time to look in the mirror and see what the issue is. But if you know VO and their leaders, theyll never admit their wrongs they just say people are "bitter and angry and couldn't see the vision of VO" 🥴
People think you need religion to be a good person and good on those wild people(people doing drugs and other things) that found religion and lived a good life. I just felt I didn't believe when I was 13. I was still going to church after, had a which I thought was a good person that guy you just say hi to, I think he was in his 20s I was 15 I was gonna beat his ass for flashing a 8 years old.

I'm convinced "Depart from me I never knew you" rings a bell.
So the top 20 has 1 Jewish, 1 Mormon, and 18 Christian scandals? Gotta admit, I'm a bit disappointed none of the scandalous Hindu "godmen" and cults were featured. Some of them did get convicted and sent to prison. Others fled before they were arrested. Pretty much for the same reasons-money, sex, power, megalomania.
Literally no mention of Falun Gong either. I understand that they wanted to keep away from the new age religions because the common consensus around them is that they're cringe and fake, but they could surely do some of the long time satanic cults like hinduism, islam and buddhism.
Well, that doesn’t fit the main stream narrative.
You mean 1 Jewish and 19 Christian. Mormonism is part of Christianity. And since WatchMojo has a target for the Western audience, Western religion is the focus.
@@heath1948 Pedal your persecution complex elsewhere.
@@Alverant Mormons are/aren't Christians in the same sense that Christians are/aren't Jews 🤣. Sure, they share _some_ divinities, prophets, and books-but diverge significantly in others. I'm just following convention here-there's really no point in picking a fight with me on this issue.

As a Christian, I am so disgusted by those scandals to the core, except for the Carlton Pearson one. I think he was unfairly treated by the church, just because everything he said about heaven, hell and forgiveness was pretty much accurate. Cut the man some slack for once.
I agree with you and with him on this. I just can’t see a loving God making us so prone to sin that would condemn us to an eternity of suffering. It’s contradictory IMO.
I'm curious to know how you might reconcile the concept with Nahum 1:1-3 in the Old Testament and Matt. 7:21-27 in the New Testament? Not intending to start an argument, simply to ask a question... Thank you... KDM

Mother Teresa raised 100s of millions of dollars for the church so much so that she was made a saint while she was still alive. She got a million from Papa Doc from Haiti and a million from Charles Keating both big time crooks.
They needed to speak about the child trafficking part of it all.
In this day and age, it is a mystery to me how people can still fall for the BS that is organized religion, let alone these scandals.
Jesus Christ is real; God is real. If He wasn’t, we wouldn’t have a counterfeit. There is no such thing as a counterfeit three dollar bill, because there’s no such thing as a real three dollar bill. But there are counterfeit Christs,
@@DougWilliams-mk5irdo you imagine that is a real argument? Can I make a counterfeit Spider-Man? Would that make him real?
@@broncojuan The bottom line is, there are more proofs to the existence of God than there are against His existence. You may not believe those proofs, and I can’t make you believe them. But one thing I can say is that, some day you will believe in Him. And unless you begin to seek Him and perhaps find Him, you will not find Him. But there’s a day coming when He will return and reveal Himself to His creation (you and me). You’re gonna believe then, and it will be too late.
Organized religion isnt the problem. It is sects of organized religion.
For examplw, look at the wider Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church. The 2 are the biggest non-governmental providers of global healthcare and charity work.

Perhaps I'm just not cut out for "church life" when I really don't fit in with their "accepted" idea of what a Christian should look like..
@@gokoudes these days it’s hard to find a real church. You might have to drive to another city where they actually preach and teach the true word of God. Until you find a place, be sure to read God’s word for yourself. We’ve been looking for a church and can’t find what I’m looking for either. We have decided to go back to our old church for the time being. I had left to go help with the music at another church for awhile. The APOSTOLIC CHURCH is the only church organization that is built on the teachings of Jesus, the apostles and the prophets. I had a copy of his tape, Positive Imaging, and I wore that thing out. When I was in the hospital I listened to it practically every day. I just thought I'd provide a little counterpoint.
I just want to be comfortable."
But that still doesn't justify a multimillion dollar airplane.
