Even while I shouldn't be surprised, it's still always a shock to see just how quickly you master these fights with a photo finish! The Rook's Gambit counters were the ones I was most surprised by with you using them against those point blank laser shots.
@@Sangheilitat117 Between Chinken Tenders and Big Fat Tacos I think FF14 players might be starving themselves and their subconsious is telling them they need to eat a bit more. XD
The way u switched to use Bahamut s charging attack only at the last stage, and dodging all that attacks to have the bar filled up almost instantly was godlike!
Yeah it builds it faster. I just use the accessory that does the same thing instead and use a different move instead of the lighting. I hate using that move outside of a stagger window
The Zantetsuken finish was probably the coolest way I've seen anyone finish a boss, since the vid I saw of KH2: sora v roxas with the finish being just as cool
Finally a good video showing the fight. All the other no hit videos abused the heck out of permafrost to avoid damage. Well done for not cheesing the fight
I went into this fight (ng+) with almost full items and used everything besides the ‘return to life’ item. Crazy fight, the second phase goes on sooo long.
@@YuriJoestar Your final save should place you before the final boss, you can do it from there. A few side quests need to be completed first though, I had to look up which ones
nice panic pressing @10:31, I felt that impatience through my screen! Nice fight as always man, this was a fun super boss to play, mroe than Leviathan imo!
Unexpected dlc for ff16. Best part? Crab. Truly, the final evolution. Your canine archons? Your hecatonchires gods? It pales before space crab. And along comes Ongbal to serve crab cakes.
@@tehCostHD I like how Rook's Gambit pauses and preserves the enemy's animation really well, making the fight seem so chaotic. Like when Omega uses the High Maneuvers and comes crashing down and fills the screen with red, while Clive does all his cool flips in the midst of it all. So badass. Raging Fists feels like it has a greater parry window, which is why I like to use it a lot.
I was gonna be so disappointed if they DIDNT put eScape in there somewhere. Its Yoshida AND Soken doing another Omega fight, they gotta put it in there
Love it! Have to say, even though I have Odin in my "loadout", I actually really dislike this eikon. Because the way it's just about building to Zantetsuken 5, actually encourages the player not to use the other more "combo heavy" eikons like Shiva, Titan, you name it. The initial 3-4 eikon gameplay is the best IMO, like with Phoenix, Garuda, and Titan. Much less damage but fun to block & counter. The Odin eikon is so powerful that you end up just using that when you get it.
Im surprised Omega came back after FFXV. Though I'm not well-versed in FF lore so I'm not sure if Omega was a new enemy in FFXV that became a mainstay or if it had existed before
Omega has been around since atleast FF5. Not sure if he showed up even earlier than that, but Omega is definately a recurring boss in the series. He might not show up every game, but like the summons he often comes back.
Oh, dude, I FEEL that! The second you see all the energy, it's like "Oh fuck, I'm about to get combo'd to death, aren't I?" Nope, thank god it's just a phase transition.
It's actually not too difficult. Even without Titan or Garuda to avoid some of his moves, you can basically pace yourself when he's shooting lasers or when he's doing his M-1 Wave Cannon. When he does High Maneuvers or Hyperextension, you want to use Shiva to avoid both moves as they have a SERIOUSLY wide range. ONLY manual dodge if you have the range down pat. As for the DPS check, bring any Eikonic Abilities that do a lot of damage and aren't focused on crowd control. Judgment Bolt, Diamond Dust, Windup and Rising Flames are some good choices. Also pack Will-o the Wykes if your dodging is poor and you need some extra protection.
Is it just me, or out of FF's collection of superbosses does Omega recieve the most attention? I mean, FF16, Stranger of Paradise, FF15, FF13. Has any other superboss appeared in such frequency as recently?
@@jakeastside Indeed, but my question was not of their existence, but their regularity. Shinryu, despite being related to Omega, is a far scarcer inclusion, and the only game I can think of where it was included without Omega alongside it was Dissidia NT.
@@Sangheilitat117 I was a bit reluctant to include FF14 since it already crosses over with everything already. Didn't it cross over with Nier Automata once?
@@vadandrumist1670 It did yeah, and it references a bunch of other previous FF stuff, but I figure it’s worth including because Omega has an entire 12-part raid series dedicated to him, a bunch of story around him, a bunch of further fights and plot involving him down the road, and the FFXVI Omega theme you hear in this video is a remix of the theme Soken created for the Omega fight in FFXIV.
how it is possible to fight a final boss on the hardest mode possible and not lose any HP? I get it that you are probably really good at dodging, but where are the "unavoidable reduce to 1 HP," the "stun and remove half your health," and other attacks that generally create tension in final boss battles?
That finish though...🔥🔥🔥
We makin it outa the dimensional rift with this one 🗣🗣🗣🗣
Alternative title: Ongbal bullying a gigantic mutant robotic spider with flashy moves relentlessly until it dies
Omega's just a misunderstood mechanical space scarab.
Didn't this DLC legit release two days ago? And you're already perfecting bosses.
I've seen a guy perfected a final boss within the day of the game's release date, these boss fight perfectionist RUclipsrs are crazyy
Tbf this guy is built different and this game is eazy af
I think it's more about perfectly understanding a game's mechanics and its intricacies than memorising the movesets of enemies and bosses

Finishing a fight with Zantetsuken is always the correct move, great job Ongbal
Interesting it actually borrows the leitmotif of Omega's theme in FF14 (eScape) when it transforms into phase 2.
I can't not hear "CHICKEN TENDEEERRRRS"
It uses Order Yet Deciphered from Azys Lla as well. Soken earned his award and further proved it once again with this track.

You pulled out a stylish cinematic boss fight! You’re awesome, man!

what i like the most about this run is that you implement the best boy torgal into your gameplay. you don't see that often in challenge runs
The confidence to just stand there and perfect rooks gambit those almost 1 hit death attacks. Just Wow.
He fucking NAILED that counter with Rook's Gambit! That was frame one!
Of course Soken references eScape for this boss music, what a cheeky lad.
Wow ! I didn't know you could combo the lightning orb you put on the enemy with Odin's dancing blades. This is mindblowing !
yes you can i use that skill too its broken
Yeah it builds it faster. I just use the accessory that does the same thing instead and use a different move instead of the lighting. I hate using that move outside of a stagger window
it's the only way to build the combo multiplier since Dancing Steel only counts as a single move while Lighting Rod can multiply with itself
The Zantetsuken finish was probably the coolest way I've seen anyone finish a boss, since the vid I saw of KH2: sora v roxas with the finish being just as cool
I have said this before but I really love that ability with one huge laser beam dividing into numerous little laser rain. It pleases me every time.

There was also Stranger of Paradise Omega (in DLC) and it was honestly horribly hard
