A small tip for any beginner starting the UV unwrapping process: Always reset the xform of the model before you do anything; otherwise, your model's UV will remain stretched, and no amount of relaxing is going to fix it.

20:50 u need first deactivate element in unwrap interface or the box specifically and after that you can use just edges selections and thank u for tutorials

Hello Michael, have you seen that external plugin called ''Ministry of Flat''? It automatically creates all those seams, it creates the same texture size and it does an amazing packing!

21:15 - it is not a 3ds max glitch. Just turn off "Select By Element UV Toggle". Blue cube button in lower left corner near your webcam :)
