Night Watch eventually had enough and killed his brother, but the mom had been so badly tortured that she sees his twin instead of him. She cannot bear to be around her son, who she can't recognize thanks to the twin's actions. To cope, Night Watch had been killing (I'm not sure as to who the targets are) at night.

In the “capture” scene the boy said they were demons wearing the “skin of gods”, aka they were acting on behalf of gods like priests during the salem witch trials. Also explains why the evil twin is holding what looks like a bible. The nightwatcher then killed his twin and took the twin’s identity to set his mother free (the dead do not speak, he basically did what Chloe/Vera did). I agree with the rest, though!

what i think: the narrator is related to the high-born twin, but the narrator was abandoned because people thought he was a changeling. the woman found him and raised him, a supposed changeling, which is why she was accused of witchcraft. and that's why at 0:30 there are people holding torches and are punishing her. the narrator is probably hiding behind some wood object so they don't notice him. at 0:45 the red-cloaked twin is going to burn/execute the woman but the narrator kills him and saves her. but because of the torture, she is crazy and thinks the narrator is the guy who tortured her (because they both look alike) and then for revenge, the speaker hunts down all the people who accused her of witchcraft.

what i think:
the narrator is related to the high-born twin, but the narrator was abandoned because people thought he was a changeling.
the woman found him and raised him, a supposed changeling, which is why she was accused of witchcraft. and that's why at 0:30 there are people holding torches and are punishing her. the narrator is probably hiding behind some wood object so they don't notice him.
at 0:45 the red-cloaked twin is going to burn/execute the woman but the narrator kills him and saves her.
but because of the torture, she is crazy and thinks the narrator is the guy who tortured her (because they both look alike)
and then for revenge, the speaker hunts down all the people who accused her of witchcraft.

Omg I hope we will hv a Record of ragnarok crossover in the future. Its my favorite anime and there are a lot of characters that could be amazing skins for idv survs and hunters. For example I would love to play Patient with a Loki skin or Jack with a literal Jack skin.

1. Why did the family decide to keep his brother but abandoned him?
2. Why did they showed up at his adopted mother"s door and took her away+tortured her?

4. What secret did his mother hide from him?
1. I believe, based on the Weibo post, they thought he was stillborn and because that was seen as something terrible in the area, they got rid of him and lied they only gave birth to one son.

3. he probably did not take over the church(more likely he stayed in the forest and hunted down people who wanted to do what his twin brother did). im pretty sure that line just meant that he killed his twin and the “secret” would be the fact that there were 2 of them in the first place(since ithaqua was isolated from society, the world probably didn’t know he existed and thought only his brother did.)
4.the secret is probably just.. everything. how he was born “without a heartbeat”(weibo description), and how he was cast away, and how his mother was being hunted down, and how she kept him isolated from the world to keep him safe. she probably just didnt tell him any of these and kept it secret because she didnt want to hurt him or make him feel scared.
There twins. It was seen as witchcraft where they are from if a mother is born with twins. To hide this fact and be put on trial for witchcraft. The parents choice to discard one of their babies to die in the blizzard. So no one would ever know the truth. The woman that was accused of witchcraft not too long again found the baby in the snow. She took him in and raised him. But when he grew up the inquisition finally found out where the alleged witch fled to. They broke into the house and took her. While the son was hiding he saw the face of his twin who was leading the witch hunt. (That is what would have happened to him if the parents discard his twin and raised him instead.) They took her to the twin and tortured her, mainly his twin did. But without a second thought, Ith killed his twin and saved his adopted mom. They fled back home but the torture was too great and shattered the mom’s mind (that has actually happened and it can take years for people to recover.) So now he guards their home from anyone that could possible be with the inquisition
