- In this video, I share tips that will help install a aftermarket back-up camera to factory radio. The backup camera kit I used is by PYvideo. It is design to be plug-n-play for the factory radio. Car in video is 2015 Scion tC.

I got a canadian model of the 2014 tC so it never even got the touchscreen audio included lol I ended up buying a mirror mounted dash cam that comes with a backup camera so far I got the dash cam setup but the backup cam is the puzzling part since I have to splice it into the reverse light etc.

Ah, upon rewatching your video I see you used the rear windshield wiper grommet to run your wire. The 2016 tC has the washer fluid tube going through there, so you need to fish the wire through the flexible rubber grommet to the left of it like in my video.
I had a person trying to install a back up camera I guess they couldn’t get the camera to go on reverse but the stereo turn on the guy he connected on pin 2 and got a adapter also so I’m lost what could he be missing now

There is no reverse wire that need to be tap into, I even mention it in the video. 2015 model have it already connect to the radio on the factory harnesses...
Also, you don't need a video on how to connect it to the radio. All you doing is plugging the male plug side into the only open female spot on the back of the radio that fit it. .. hint, plug-n-play.
Is there anyway that you can show me how the wiring on the radio looks like. I don't know where to plug it in

how dose it connect to the head unit ? and how did you get power to the camera i bought a tc same year that had the camera installed but not connected to the head unit. anything helps like the car btw nice color
When installing the reverse camera to the reverse light I'm supposed to connect the rewire to the reverse light. There are 2 cords that are in the reverse light. Which do I put into I have a 07 scion tc btw.
This works for the 2012 to 2015 scion tc. The 2016 model "like i have" uses the grommet for the rear windshield wiper fluid. Only 2016 models have a rear wiper. Sucks i have a aftermarket headunit, amps, subs, new speakers and now i can't run a back up camera unless i puncture a hole and put my own grommet in. :/

I connected a dash cam/rearcam on my 2016 tc. But I'm not sure which is the ground wire on the reverse light. There's a pink and black wire connecting to it. Does anyone know which one is the ground wire for splicing purposes?
Hi , im hearing a noise from the rear/back seat,its like a loose rattling plastic sound, im not sure where exactly the noise is coming from but it sounds like its coming from the ceiling,it happens whenever i drive to a rough surface or making a turn. It wasn't there before.
Im suspecting its the trunk door the panel in the middle, do you have any experience with this?

i like your video, however, better light so that people would be able to see, it got kind of dark almost at the end. I just purchased my 2015 TC, but it does not have a back up camera, which is what I want. I think I just take it somewhere to have it hook, but can you advise me of a brand?
How did u hook it up to the radio? Take out radio at all?

1129otorres With the kit used in the video, it is just plug and play. Every plug on the back on the radio is shaped differently, just plug the harness in the spot it fits. Btw it will be nothing plug in the area it suppose to go to. You dont have to worry about the reverse wire. There is no reverse wire require. In the 2015 model the wire is already wired to the factory radio.
Correct, the factory radio comes pre wired with the reverse trigger.
Hey there, thank you so much for posting this. I’m a fellow Scion TC owner 2014. I’m about to purchase my camera kit for amazon. This gave me such peace in doing so. I just have two questions. How does the hatch panels come off and how does the back seat come off?
There are videos for both. Just such the 1st gen tC hatch tear down. Everything removes basically the same way.
Where did you connect the power wire to turn on when veh is put in the reverse gear
It is all plug-n-play. All you have to do is plug the harness into the factory location on the back of the radio. That's all

Ali K Mines came from factory like that. I heard that there is a hidden setting on the gauge cluster, that allows you to turn it off and on. I don't remember how to access it. Google it or check the car manual.

For the 2014+ there’s no need to splice it it’s already built into the factory harness
You know if this works for the Scion tC 2014 as well? I would assume so, but was wondering how you actually hook it up to the radio ? I'm thinking of buying a 2014 Scion tC but really wanted a backup camera so thanks for this vid
Yes it will and it's easy. There is actually an area for the wires to plug in, on the back of the radio

I mention it in the video. There was no need to run wiring for the reverse light in my 2015. The factory stereo harness already have it pinned in.
