Thanks for a very well thought out video. Your YT channel was one of the first I found and started watching when I fell down the fountain pen rabbit hole. You asked what keeps you (the viewer) interested in fountain pens. I love having a large selection of pens inked but realized I couldn't use them all without some drying out. Then I decided to learn to draw this past summer. That has allowed me to use my many inked pens without some of them drying out. It actually makes using my pens even more enjoyable because I end up really appreciating a particular pen & ink combination and how it comes out on the paper. Hope that makes sense,

I just wanted to get out of the summer heat. I stayed for two showings and been a fan since. May the force be with you, Doc.

Thank you for sharing your personal GOAT pens for 2022. I had to laugh seeing you in your smoking jacket and bow-tie. My favourites of course are the Lambrou pens with the diffusion bonded acrylic and your Yard-o-Led sterling work of art.
One pen I had missed seeing the review of was the Edison Collier Grand, which was made of a colour & translusence which reminded me of Amber. Very beautiful, even though I am not a fan of transluscent materials. I don't like being able to see the inner parts of a pen unless it's a clear demonstrator.
I bought a fountain pen for Christmas, which was a gift from my husband; a Tibaldi Bononia Ltd.ed. I am waiting for it and hope I am happy with it. As I always do, I forgot to buy the piston tool for it. So now I must find a Canadian online store to buy it, which is not an easy task. I wish you a Happy New Year with health and happiness throughout, sprinkled with moments of joy.

My Q1 also did not write out of the box. Super dry nib! But it takes Jowo nibs just fine. I did some research and found that the arthritis claim was: mere rumor! Created on FPN some 15 years ago. Jumbo girth pens were common novelties made in Japan since around the 30s. The Tombow Egg and Platinum Glamour are two more "modern" examples.

Interesting stuff. The Yard O Led company has an interesting history. Their first product 200 years ago was a mechanical pencil that could hold 12 three inch leads. Hence, an aggregate yard of lead.
My first thought was a spyglass, which was called "the led" on sailing ships of old.
Reference: In Master and Commander, midshipman Hollum, asks for the glass by saying, "The led, if you please." The script spells it "lead," but I think "led" is an authentic spelling.

Terrific recap! Wonderful set of pens. The Conway Stewart Great Exhibition is the only one that seemed unusual as a pick. Never thought I’d ever be saying this to you, but I do think it would be an amazing pen in Shaquille O’Neil’s hand. It just didn’t look good in you hand. And balanced as it might be, physics tells me there’s SO much distance to reach the end of the barrel as it goes across the top of your hand, ya gotta feel it in some way. I don’t necessarily mean it would even be fatiguing, but odd feeling after writing a couple of pages….if that makes sense.
