Look at it! LOOK AT IT! Stephen whenever you do the “ oh I know what people are going to say voice “ I imagine a cartoon character of u running across the bottom of the screen pulling its hair out ! Tehe loved it jude
My personal GOAT SBRE Brown review is for the Cross Peerless Darth Vader. It gave me the most joy and sent me on a quirky writing spree. Very memorable. Today’s sweater is in my top 10. The one that got me most excited was the Titan, maybe it came out in 2019? But I have one now and am not disappointed! With a matching Titan dip pen no less. Disclaimer: I have not watched every single SBRE Brown video in 2020. This is my personal summary of 2020 joys of watching this channel. Many thanks And happy new year.
I love your end of the year lists because there is always something there I haven’t heard of before or forgot about. All wonderful choices and a collection in and of itself to be envious of. I’ve personally been using a Custom 823 and an M800 the most this year. Thanks for sharing your wonderful pens with us again! Finally feels like the year is over now that we have your GOAT list!
What’s not to love? Ten stunning pens that write beautifully and I’m sure FEEL beautiful to write with, using wonderful inks. Although the one that’s stub’ish surely can’t be quite as much fun during a longer session. What a marvelous way to end the year Stephen. Brilliant!
One of the best 🐐 you’ve ever done. So good to see William’s and Tamenuri Studios on there. Would love an opus 88 produced by Tamenuri Studio, that would be awesome.
A wonderful aesthetically-diverse collection of pens! Large and functional might be uniting themes, but the diversity is great! Thanks for an informative and entertaining year!
Great to see my dream pen (Leonardo Furore Grande Smeraldo) in your list! This year, I got Leonardo Furore Blue Emerald after seeing your review. It's very nice when someone is that open about loving the material on a pen, the way it looks. Happy New Year!
I wait for this video every year and enjoyed this one a great deal. Any criteria you use are OK with me. I recently got the clear Opus 88 Omar on your recommendation and I am enjoying the sloshing. Happy new year to you as well!
Fun video! Also liked seeing aurora black ink in action. I’ve just purchased some noodlers blackcrease ink for its waterproof quality for my Japanese planners. I like to be able to add watercolor paints to my journals and having a water resistant ink is impotent. I also really love the star ruby ink! A very nice red indeed! I don’t have any of these pens as I’m not familiar with most of these brands so it was nice to see them in action. I’m not one to stray into unfamiliar brands especially at such high price points but I do love seeing them in use. Would love to get my hands on a #8 nib! Also, don’t feel guilty for loving your own ink! I LOVE SBRE Brown and I also have a weakness for Gourmet Pens Pink! Obviously you would not have put your name on it if you didn’t love it and why not use it?? If people are going to be so sensitive and make unkind remarks it’s best to simply ignore them. I love everything you do for the fountain pen community and I also very much enjoy your stoicism series and your hang out vids. You are simply a very cool dude who has kept me company through this hideous pandemic. I’m going to miss you when I go back to work next week.
Bravo 🙌 Magnificent presentation! Bravo 🎉 Solicitations? Oh well you get the sentiment. This list shall form the basis of our pen club discussion. My acquisitions for 2021 - Monteverde Blue Sequoia 2. Opus Jazz 88 Green 3. Pilot 912 Custom Heritage FA nib. Monteverde Rodeo drive green and a green Prima to go with Monteverde amber pen in transit as we communicate. Kong hee fat choy!
Hey there Stephen.. thank you for many years of fun and great information.. I think Darth Vader should have had a Christmas helmet.. my Goat for 2020.. my Furore Grande purple with rose gold.. my Pilot 845.. my Edison Collier Red Dragon with an 18k EF.. my Onoto Magna Classic.. pilot Silver and my metal Falcon with a. Soft fine.. here's to life and love for you and Azizah in 2021!! Frank from Boulder, Colorado, US
Love this vid! Thanks for sharing. The Hans Anders doekje was really cute haha! Good idea btw to use a cleaning cloth for glasses, because that doesn’t leave lint on your nib (I use paper towels but that’s not ideal...).
Fun and interesting list, thanks. The two that speak to me are the Yard-O-Led and the Opus 88. I want a sterling pen but I'm too cheap. The Opus I would want if its body were actually made out of glass. In actual reality I just bought 3 TiLiner Aluminums @ $10/ea. My eyes are MUCH bigger than my wallet.
I have one of the earlier Momento Zero Grande models, with a captive converter. Do you know weather the earlier models now also have the actual piston and the flush cap lip? I like the dark Hawaii finish, but it's an older model
Hi from the U.S. I'm a Parker collector but not as knowledgeable as yourself regarding pens wich you videos are awby the way, my question is are Parker pens really made in France. And why have the manufacturer stop stamping the arrow logo on the top of the pen?
I loved the Deus Ex 2 reference! Such an under-appreciated game. While I do admit the first game had more substance, the sequel had a lot of fun ideas and themes. The weapon vendors referenced were a nice touch, making it feel like an old school rpg. I also really liked some of the new autmentation ideas, like Bot Domination - that was great! I also really liked the VR popstar that you could report crimes to - some sort of dystopian future prediction. I also thought the universal ammunition idea was quite novel and lead to a gameplay experience where you could stop worrying (slightly) about inventory management and just use whatever you enjoyed most.
Unfortunately William S. told me the faceted and triangular pens are no longer in production, those took too much time to produce... I can’t exclude that some very special request may be fulfilled somehow sometimes...
So funny, I just had Cross Violet in my Omar Demonstrator ... 😉 I thought about a turquoise, but was a bit anxious because of your Info that turquoises tend to stain ...
As two of the pens on your list are ones that I own, I find your list - acceptable😁 Especially as my ownership of those pens was clearly enabled by being able to write with yours!
Please, Can you say the name of these pens a bit slowly, perhaps multiple times? And, List them up in the comments ? . That would help those like me who are seeing or hearing about these pens for the fist time. I enjoy your videos so very much, and have seen almost all of them. Happy New Year Wishes !!
Stephen I am looking to buy a Cross Peerless based on you review. And I am a little confused, because in the original video you said the Darth Vader has a fine nib. Can you please clarify which is it so I could have a better understanding of what the width of the line a fine nib on a Peerless looks like? Thank you
You didn’t address one thing though, and perhaps I missed it from one of your other videos, but you did have both a Montblanc and a Pelikan, they both made the goat list about 7 years ago, and you were very keen on the latter pen, going so far as to say it was one of the smoothest pens. That it is not in your collection anymore must mean something - curious to know what that is.
@@sbrebrown hah, fair enough, but is there a particular reason why you didn’t use them? I mean, you seem to have a huge collection, so it seems that you don’t mind having a good number of pens. Why remove those two?
I preferred other pens to MB and Pelikan, so I got rid of the MB and Pelikan. I have found other pens that, for me, vastly outperformed my MB and Pelikan pens. I have found that other pens wrote more smoothly, better, wetter, nicer, more enjoyably, more affordably, than MB and Pelikan pens. I have found that other pens gave me better value for money. I have found that some pens were much more enjoyable to use to me than MB and Pelikan pens. I have found that I have no need for MB and Pelikan pens in my life. Does that answer the question?
Yup. Conid all the way for me. My favourite pen. I literally stopped collecting after buying it (okay, after getting my second…) Surprised the Emperor dropped out.
I disagree! Nah, just pulling your chain. Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year! (...not so patiently waiting for Conid to come out of its whatever they're in...)
See, Stephen? I told you, you are good at pronouncing name "Michal". Second attempt was very good and you can just keep it this way. And this urushi pen...
Steven, Use a wireless clip-on Mic, like the "Rode Wireless GO" instead of a mounted Microphone when you are sitting away from your camera set up so that we can hear you clearly. The volume on this video was poor and not your usual best.
Hi Doctor Brown, is there any particular reason why montblanc does not feature on your list? Is the brand as a whole not something that clicks with you? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Hi Becky, I switch between pens a lot to relieve pressure points, sometimes a big pen, sometimes a thin one. What is your top thin pen for 2020? Mine is Graf Von Faber Castell Gullioche size. I have a Titan, too and some days when my hands are stiff I use it for comfort even if I lack neatness. Happy new year 🎊
Damn. That’s the greatest sweater of all time.

Maybe my favorite clip in the entire review. Laughs can be difficult to come by these days and “LOOK AT IT” is going stick with me for a while!

I can't argue against any of those choices. Thanks for the video. :)
Now I can’t stop thinking about Leo Jankowski, what a memory trip! Thank you for the great video

🤯 🙈 my pen is a GOAT?!?!?! OMG. My birthday is tomorrow but it is already best surprise ever!!!,
Glad you’re now a 🐐 :))
My goat can be a pen, it's not postable and.... Oh well I'm a child ;)
Why did "look at my little finger - that's a lot of barrel" crack me up so much haha
Interesting how goat has evolved over the years. Cheers from Germany and the best for the new year from Klaus
And jeah, I like kon-peki too 😄
I love this!
Love it - happy new year and thanks for the content
What a great opening!!!
Brilliant
Beautiful pens! Would love many of those.
What happened to the LB5?!

Opus Omar 88 clear demonstrator (B) but with J Herbin Emerald of Chivor green ink! Wow. Magnifique..
Yay. My pen is on the list. Leonardo messenger
And @sbrebrown - my name - you nailed it second time you say it ;))
I like the new criteria for Goat 2020.
Hey Stephen, great video for the end of 2020! Did that titan pens 360 magnum turn into a model he offers to the general public?
As explained in the video, I don't know.

Please! can you make a review on ST DUPONT FOUNTAIN PENS? Thanks!
Wow, i call that this is the charisma
Hi Stephen, i'm about to buy a pen and looking at the Leonardo Furore. Any competitors in terms of writing experience and looks? (price).

All pen names are listed in the writing sample...
Nice Christopher Walken impression.
Nice list, thanks for sharing. In total, how much ink do you roughly consume over the course of a year?
Oh my gosh. That would me a whole other channel, I bet! Good idea, to think of a way to track this data besides just empty ink bottles.
P.s. Happy New Year!! Also, please check out the new Robert Oster Rose Gold Antiqua ink coming out tomorrow!

Really hard to see the pens in the lighting you’ve got there mate.
Watch the video and notice how I address that.
