Brent, thank you, your videos have been a huge help from choosing a lawn tractor to DIY maintenance. I appreciate that you take the time to share your knowledge! Keep up the great work.
Brent. Just bought the 3 Amp from your parts website last month. Going to use it on my brand new X350 w/bagger I just bought. Your videos were very instrumental in my decision to buy the tractor for bagging. It was almost a coin toss between it and the ZTR. But the need to bag swayed me to the tractor. Got the 42” and it bags like a vacuum sweeper. Love it !! Oh and I got that sweet oil drain pan from you too!
@Doug Gracy thanks for the update on your tractor and bagger. We really appreciate your business getting the bagger, charger and drain pan! Glad you’re loving them!
Just a side note when starting to hook up the connections to the Battery. Always disconnect the negative terminal of the battery first and then hook it up last. Very good videos Brent. Y 'all's lawn mower video series helped me in deciding on a Z345M as I had never been on a Ztrack. Thank you for the information and keep up on making good quality easy to follow videos.
I like the versatility of the non-mounted units. With the different tails you can put the ring terminals on the principle battery, and use the charger on something else with the clamps without any "un-wiring".
I have the 1.5 amp non-mountable one. I hooked it up with the alligator clips. Should I use the ring clips? When you use the ring clips, can those stay in place without issue during the summer when we are using it regularly? Thanks for such a great channel. You've helped us loads already. We are new to this!
Brent, thanks for another helpful video, recently sold my Cub Cadet and finally purchased a John Deere Z330R, My mower gets parked in my garage where id does get cold, I had issues in past starting my Cub after each cold winter. With a new start I want to take great care of my JD. I can just use the clamps and keep them on all winter until the first mow?
Great videp Brent. Can I use my Stanley Fatmax professional digital power station to charge my dead battery on my JD1025R? Cab overhead light was left on for who knows how long. Is the Stanley Fatmax too my charger?
There is a chance that you may still need to charge it. I would just test it before you are ready to mow and make sure. Good question and thanks for watching!
Hi there - We just received our 2021 X390. It will be garaged (unheated) for the winter - as is our old beloved 2002 LT150. Everything is so new on the X390 that I almost hate to spray the protector on the shiny & new battery terminals, add the felt washers, the battery tender fused rings, etc., before hooking it up to the trickle charger. ~~ My question is: Should we do this for its first New England winter season? We don't have an attached plow or snow blower, so it will be in storage until spring. Can sulfur accumulate on a brand new battery? Should we go ahead with the full battery maintenance task on a brand new tractor? Your advice would be invaluable. Thank you.
I would say yes! It is always great to do this preventative maintenance as soon as possible. If more people did this they would not regret it. Great question and thanks for watching!
So I have a L110 and a 1025r. What is the best to get for both machine or do I need to get 1 for each. The l110 sit in a warm garage all winter the 1025 is used year around. Thanks. Great video
It is really up to you on how many chargers you get but if I were getting one to use on both I personally would get the TY25866 parts.west-equip.com/battery-charger-maintainer-ty25866/ and if you wanted one for each I would go with the TY26328 parts.west-equip.com/john-deere-1-5-amp-mountable-battery-charger-maintainer-ty26328/. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
John Deere sent me an email for a 20% discount coupon for 1.5A battery charger/maintainer.. One question I had, do you plug it in and leave it on 24/7 until Spring?
It’s interesting that the instructions for this charger does not indicate if the battery cables should be connected or not, it also states that the negative terminal of the charger should be connected to to the body of the vehicle, not the negative post - which is correct, your instructions or theirs?
Nice video I’m a new subscriber I really enjoy you vids. How much are the John Deere branded battery tenders? I have used a Battery Tender Jr for years on all of my batteries.
Hey Brent, I just put my trickle charger on my battery on x350 and I have a ton or corrosion on the positive terminal. Any ideas on what I can do to prevent this from happening in the future?
Yes, so first I would clean it off with some baking soda and water or some battery terminal cleaner. Then you can actually buy battery terminal protectant that will keep corrosion from building up. You just spray it on your terminals when they are clean and it creates a protective layer on your terminals. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Great video can we order JD parts from you I've bought 9 JDs over the years but my dealer is horrible l have to drive to crystal river Florida for my equipment there good but not the best in shipping parts it's 60 miles one way from my shop the horrible JD dealer is across the street l bought 50.000 worth of equipment from them but they threw me out because they can't fix a carburetor problem Everglades equipment 👍🇺🇸
You could do this too. This trickle charger is just an option to save you that step of having to take the battery out and hopefully make it to where you never lose your charger. Thanks for watching!
Spoiler alert, they are just rebranded Schumacher units with Deere stickers. Sorry Brent, I do like your videos, but I’d much rather use a quality NOCO unit instead.
Your channel is awesome. You are my #1 source for all things having to do with my mower.
Thank you so much and thanks for watching!

I just ordered a John Deere 1.5 amp charger/maintainer for our z720e and now I know how to hook it up when it gets here. Thank you!
I am glad I could help and thanks for watching!

@Keith Albers thanks for info. Hope you’re liking your Z345M.
@@WesternEquipment loving it so far. Im very glad I got it over the lawn tractor.
Can’t thank you enough for this video! I’m in the market for a maintainer and the mountable unit is brilliant!!!!
You're welcome! I'm glad I could help and thanks for watching.
Great video Brent! Awesome chargers! Slow charging is the best way to charge the battery! Thanks for sharing! Have a great and awesome day! 🚜
Thanks!

I completely agree with you. Pretty sweet chargers. Thanks for watching!
Very Helpful. It was a breeze to install, with your guidance.
Thank you and I am glad I could help! Thanks for watching!

You can use the the ring clips for sure without issues in use.
You have outstanding videos I really appreciate all the information
Thank you and I am glad you enjoy them!

I was thinking about removing the battery and bringing it indoors for the winter. Will I still need a charger when it’s spring?
There is a chance that you may still need to charge it. I would just test it before you are ready to mow and make sure. Good question and thanks for watching!

Is it worth bringing your battery in for the winter
As long as it is stored properly and kept on a maintainer this would be ok.
Your the man Brent 🤙🤙🤙
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Which one should I get for my 2020 825M Gator?
Really any of these would work. Totally your preference.

John Deere sent me an email for a 20% discount coupon for 1.5A battery charger/maintainer.. One question I had, do you plug it in and leave it on 24/7 until Spring?
Yes, it will turn off when it does not need to charge the battery.
It’s interesting that the instructions for this charger does not indicate if the battery cables should be connected or not, it also states that the negative terminal of the charger should be connected to to the body of the vehicle, not the negative post - which is correct, your instructions or theirs?
Nice video. Seems like the charger would take a beating from vibes when running on rough hard terrain.
Yeah, I would like to see what the life of one looks like after bring left on the machine for a few years. Maybe a new video idea...
Is it a problem to just install and leave on the 1.5 Amp Mountable Battery Charger permanently, even during use?
No, that is not a problem at all. Good question and thanks for watching!
how would these work on a machine that has two batteries?
You would just need to make sure that your maintainer is capable of running the correct volts for your system.
Great video! Can you do a video on cleaning my JD X330 engine area!
Thank you and yes, I will get into some cleaning tips towards the end of the season! Thanks for watching!
Can you leave it at n all winter?
Yes, you sure can. That is how it will make sure and maintain the battery.
Nice video I’m a new subscriber I really enjoy you vids. How much are the John Deere branded battery tenders? I have used a Battery Tender Jr for years on all of my batteries.
@Digger thanks for subbing! I put a link in description that will take you to the 3 tenders from the video.

Sure! Go check us out at west-equip.com/parts and thanks for watching!
I guess Deere stopped selling these. Had to find it on eBay
Do you mean you couldnt find one through your local dealer?
On, sorry
No worries!
Why not just take the battery out of the lawn mower and charge it with the chargers on a work bench?
You could do this too. This trickle charger is just an option to save you that step of having to take the battery out and hopefully make it to where you never lose your charger. Thanks for watching!
Those aren't trickle chargers. Those are battery tenders.
This is true! Good catch. I botched this one and thanks for pointing this out. Thanks for watching!
OVER PRICED FOR A TRICKLE CHARGER
Interesting....
