- This was simply one of the craziest ideas I've ever had : crossing the huge cave of Flatanger, through the steepest part of the roof.
Adam Ondra shared this vision with me before I went there, and I was really excited to check out this mega project.
I'm now really pleased to share the video of this huge First Ascent of 130m with you. I called the route Nordic Marathon, and proposed the 9b/+ grade.
I also managed two other hard repeats of existing routes during this trip :
The first repeat of Iron Curtain, proposed as 9b by Adam Ondra. I think it more 9a+ with Kneepads.
And I did the third ascent of Change, the world first 9b+. I proposed the 9b/+ range using kneepads.
But, the trip wasn’t just about sending. Everything was perfectly in harmony to make the many successes of this trip happen. My physical shape, the perfect projects, the best partners, the conditions, and the luck.
I am so grateful to live such beautiful moments.
This kind of trip does not happen that often in a climber’s life.

I think Nordic Marathon is the most impressive climbing feat I have ever witnessed. 130 meters of so much hard climbing with no “real” rests is just beyond unfathomable to me, not to mention the other assents he managed to get. Congrats Seb!!!

2022 was not only an amazing year for climbing but also for video production, you, Stefano, Adam and others are really putting a lot of efforts and creativity into these videos. Can’t wait for what’s to come in 2023!

This is genuinely one of the most stunning sport climbing achievements I've ever seen. And the fact that we're lucky enough to be able to see it on video is, just... _wow._
If this is any sign of what climbing videos will be like in 2023, it's gonna be a _good_ year for us.
I would like to see footage of the full climbs (all routes). Just Megos style raw footage.
This is what I want too. At least more climbing from that route. This video is only 12mn. Why so short for such an incredible send?
Just a few days ago I was climbing at la ramirole in the Verdon gorge, it was incredible to just look at the famous lines sent by Seb, such a beast

Usually hard routes like this i can watch and understand how they did it but that last crux of pitch two i just cannot comprehend how someone could do that after like 90m of climbing

I was hoping for some clarification on exactly how much you ran it out in the end? I remember reading something about you free soloing part of it, but it looks like you still had the rope on.
After the roof section there's a graphic popping up saying something Like 7b+ - 50m. (10:00 min) I think that meant to be the length of the remaining route
He really needs to produce videos of unedited routes to: 1/ avoid any doubts him sending it, 2/ to help others climbers from start to finish.
I don't understand why he edits such incredible routes.

The real problem of Seb videos is that it is highly edited and shortened. He really should show us everything from start to finish without editing like What Adam Ondra (or even Magnus Midtbo) does. It avoids having people doubting him and show the others climbers how to do it.
@MusicInUniverse unfortunately that is true. This climb is totally epic, but because it's so chopped up it feels like its just the normal length of any other climb. Raw video would be so sick! I know he was climbing forever up there so it would be a long video but still awesome i think.
@@donkyuhbuhts540 And others climbers also show some falls from their big sends. Often those are actually very useful for climbers to know what not to do.
I don't think Seb realizes how important (and incredible) what he manages to climb.
