God almighty... day 14. No symptoms have let up at all. Infact many such as diarrhea and cold flashes have intensified. Sleep deprivation/ restless legs/ lack of energy and cognitive ability are among my biggest challenges at this point. It's one thing to be in hell. It's another thing to be in hell while sleep deprived and confused. Whoever is reading this, you're not alone.

@Oxboh I was able to get a decent night's sleep after about 4 weeks bro. Before that I would wake up every 20 minutes and struggle to get back to sleep. It sucked ass but it was worth it for how I am now. Everyone is different but yea my insomnia was the most annoying. And inability to feel any physical comfort at all. After 4 weeks things started to be bearable

@@rhondapina1653 I was right there not long ago. Be strong. Not even a piece (even though I totally understand where you're at). One thing that can help ease the symptoms is kratom. I am on day 18 and at day 15 I had the break through of the shit feeling. I now only have insomnia because of restless leg not legs now which is my right leg and my arms. So dumb but it’s whatever I made it through the worst part. And my god the stupid sneezing, and nasty smells. But this too shall pass and if I can do it cold turkey for the third time anyone can. I was able to get like 20 and stretched them to about 4-5 weeks with no major problems. Such little subs can do a lot. I tried to get good healthy food that was ready to eat because it will be extremely hard to get up from 0 energy. Raos chicken noodle was easy and good. I took kratom dlpa kava b12 ashwaganda. Good news bro it ain’t that bad. I did have to take a week off but lots of people are taking time off right now so you won’t stick out as much😉 kratom at night works for restless legs. Great video. Thank you! I appreciate the really personal vibe.
    And congratulations on the promotion!
I was on Rx'd Oxyies. Really wanted to get clean. Started Suboxone for a couple months after stopping Oxycontins. Took way less than doctor said. And started tapering off right away. You can feel your body complaining as you taper off Suboxone. But the difference between that last tiny tiny dose and none: That's when the real withdrawal starts.
Your descriptions of symptoms are spot on.
That constant low grade nausea, heightened smell and body sensitivity etc.
Lasted a lot longer for me. The fatigue and anxiety: Took me a good 6 months before I felt normal.
But getting clean is totally worth it!

I’m day 13 didn’t sleep well last night but I can tell during the day and night I’m feeling a little better everyday!!!! I work a really labor intensive job and it’s been hell!! Been at this job 5 years and never missed a day of work and I’m not gonna start now!! Hang in there folks you can do this!! I had to research withdraws after I wasn’t feeling better after about 9-10 days I had know idea that withdraws last as long as it does!! Any rate just saying it ain’t all great after 13 day but I can tell it’s not as bad as 9 days in and before!! If you can take time off work might be a good thing but for me I want to remember this feeling these last two weeks I will never forget I hope I never go back to drugs. I even quit smoking and I keep myself working and definitely stay at home and don’t hang with users!!

I still have restless legs but it’s nothing that’s too bad and still get mild hot cold chills but I honestly don’t feel any of the anxiety to be honest which is one thing I’m very happy about. To me and this is me I feel like it’s a much milder opiate withdrawal that will last about twice as long. But that may also be because I was on only 4 mg when I stopped, and yes everyone’s different.

      How are you doing now??
I've never done heroin so I can't compare it. Came off pain pills, that was pretty bad but so much faster then the subs!!
Today is Day 14 for me!! Yesterday was pretty not bad lol, not quite good, but totally bearable!! I'm hoping now im coming out the other side. My appetite is coming back, and ive been sleeping, which helped so much.
I've never been to a detox, I tried this time on my first worst day, and they told me I didn't qualify. What's it for then? Ugh.
My back has been hurting a lot the past couple days, and I'm super emotional, but it's WORLDS better then the cold sweats!! I get them brutal, cause my CNS was damaged due to being poisoned with low levels of carbon monoxide for a year and a half, talk about hell!!! The symptoms were EXACTLY the same as the worst of withdraw, except it didn't get better. That wore me down so bad!!! Imagine going through the worst withdrawal you've ever felt for a year and a half!!! If my dr. hadn't finally figured it out I don't think I'd be here today, it was bad enough death seemed so much better.
But I made it through that, and I've made it through this!!
I won't ever take anything that causes withdrawal again, unless it's life or death.
I don't think I have it in me to go through this again.
Hope you're doing well and wish you all the best!!!!

Dude I feel you, I can’t stand the arrogance and bias and projection of Benzo recovery forums, omfg. It’s a problem in addiction communities overall, but just because Benzo withdrawal CAN cause seizures and death, they assume they’ve been through the worst. I’ve been through Xanax and Opioid withdrawal, they’re equally fucking horrible in their own unique ways. At least during Benzo withdrawal I had dopamine to get by on so I could watch shows and listen to music and emotionally cope. Opioid withdrawal isn’t a constant panic attack, but it may as well be considering the amount of restless agitation there is, and you can’t even enjoy anything, it’s just horrible hell on earth, and with Buprenorphine or Methadone, it’s stretched out for a long ass time, way too long.
Absolutely zero reason for one addict of one substance to feel like they had it worse than another - unless we’re literally comparing opioids or benzos to cannabis or coffee or something much milder.
But yeah I see it a LOT with Benzo recovery people, and I acted this way I myself to some degree when I was 17 coming off Xanax, but I was also 17/18 at the time so whatever.
People just love the victim spotlight when it comes to this stuff. And don’t get me wrong, I’m a progressive person, I understand what societal bullshit does to people, and how mentally unwell this generation is. But recovery communities thrive on that bs at times, and it’s so obnoxious.
And honestly, a part of what lowered my guard about getting on pain meds in the beginning was this idea that goes on in Benzo communities that “opiate withdrawal is just a bad flue compared to Benzo withdrawal” which is complete horse hockey. Absolutely not true. More like “the flu” times 10,000 Jfc lol

I dont wanna get anyone to worried about it. But it really depends how much you were on and how long. If you're on 24mg a day for 5 years and try to jump off cold turkey, it might be worse than what u got off of before you got on subs. It all strongly depends on this. I wouldn't jump off unless your down to 8mg or less in my opinion but that's up to you to decide. Yeah that's what I don't like about methadone. I here people just going up, and up, and up. I've increased my sub dose once, But once you go up you can be good for years and hopefully never have to go higher. It seems like with methadone your tolerance just keeps getting larger consistently.

I was given four 1mg doses for the first day. I was even debating with the doctor, thinking it was too little. By the time I took my second dose (of 1mg), it screwed me up so hard. I had weird dreams, and I was so screwed up the next day, that I couldn't even drive back to the doctor's office. I ended up having to quit cold turkey and it was hell, but looking back I'm pretty glad it didn't work for me, because I wouldn't want to have to withdraw from another opiate.

Get down to the 2mg strips and keep going down. Half, quarter, eighth of a 2mg strip (0.25mg) then start throwing in two days a week of nothing, like Tuesday/Friday every week. After a couple weeks switch to alternating every other day between 0.25mg and nothing… etc. get a recovery/support system while you’re doing this, try to eat better and get exercise too when on the low dose. I'm worried if I go off of it, normal will never happen, I'll just be a depression and anxiety ridden human barely scraping by. So I struggle back and forth with whether or not I want to go off. It's not causing me any problems in my life other than my husband doesn't like it, and tells me all the time I'm not clean, which really sucks.
