@@thedude3065 And that same kid (12 year old Aaron Dismuke) would go on to voice Ed and Alphonse's father in an early flashback as part of the Brotherhood series, before going on to voice the likes of Leonardo Watch in Blood Blockade Battlefront, Senku Ishigami in Dr. Stone, Miyuki Shirogane in Kaguya-sama: Love is War, and much more! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Dismuke
Guess it's due to how Brotherhood focuses more on the entirety of the manga? Kind of a shame either way. Ed's more of a shameless prick in 2003 and I love it!
I think 2003 had some weak episodes, especially the episodic ones and the story get a bit messy and weaker than brotherhood but it has a stronger begining and ut isn't bad. It definitely has some strengths compared to brotherhood even though I think overall brotherhood is stronger.
I have watch Brotherhood first and then 2003, both of them is good! It's like when you play a game and trying to get different ending, the story will be different too! It's so excited!! You should watch Brotherhood first and then the 2003 (this is my opinion) it'll give you experience like to know more deep the characters (like find secret documentation about characters past) if you watch Brotherhood first and then 2003 ❤❤
Love both FMA and FMA: Brotherhood - and it inspires me to reread the manga! The manga are the best of both worlds imo (since it includes a lot of the extra scenes/humor that goes into the 2003 series, while also having the storyline of Brotherhood - though a few little anime-only touches are what I would miss, like Ed's promise to Al's body he'd come back for him in Brotherhood through the Door of Truth).
Damn i havent seen the original in a long time but i forget how well they nail the brotherly bond and dialoge in this anime, brotherhood is much better on the story and pacing but the emotions of the 2003 version are arguably better ( its really hard for me but i love them both )
I’m personally biased towards brotherhood because I watched it first but I recently got my dads old computer which has both series and a movie so score! I’m gonna try to watch this one later.
2003 can't mess up the story since it has its own, though? Also, having read the manga Brotherhood is rather excessive at repeating jokes that really weren't that prevalent in the manga. So are you sure it's not the other way around?
Ok..? Personally i don't think it is necessary to compare them because their plot etc is so different, like they are whole different animes only with the same characters and general idea. i do think 03's story becomes a lil difficult to follow but brotherhood also has it's own problems. Especially with the humor. plus sticking to manga doesn't mean it'll be better
@@larianne_d And it's debatable if Brotherhood even actually does stick to the manga sometimes. And I agree! Having read the manga and watched 2003, they're quite different! They put like half their budget into the scene of Ed doing the impression of Mustang
Because they knew this will be an iconic scene :)
Alphonse's little "you don't mean that" when Ed is accusing him of betraying him is just...so cute
It helps that he’s voiced by a kid

The pain in his voice too
"What do we have here? What an oddly good hand of cards-"
*Edward immediately booking it*
Bro was already at the other side of the room 😭
"I get full."
"Full of what!?"
Oh what happened in that scene was purely siblings. ❤
The way Alphonse says "then why are you chasing me?!" is adorable
"I'll turn you all into fish!"
If someone actually threatened me with that I would actually be pretty scared.
FMA 2003 is so underrated and underappreciated... Brotherhood totally overshadowed it but both of them are amazing.
Guess it's due to how Brotherhood focuses more on the entirety of the manga? Kind of a shame either way. Ed's more of a shameless prick in 2003 and I love it!
Brotherhood is better but 2003 is still really good
It's not really that good with telling a story. Luckily, Brotherhood fixes all those problems. Peace ✌🏻

I love Ed’s impression of Mustang. 🤣
I literally will always love that sequence

I really see that even the english dub is amazing. The french dub is the one I knew first, and it is as funny as the english one.
really? where can i watch clips
yo! do you know anywhere I could watch the French dub of FMA in the US? I've been trying to find it for a while now

Lowkey think 2003 is funnier than Brotherhood since it isn't trying as hard in comparison. It feels more natural and less stilted.
Both are excellent.
Though I do think if you're gonna watch both, you should watch 2003 first.

the bloopers more than make up for it
Im glad both exist

"I'LL TURN YOU ALL INTO FISH" keeps cracking me up LOL
"Hey shouldn't we talk first?" Never ceases to kill me
I'm a simple lady I see Conel Sarcasm as the title and I click
I'm a simple lady I see ed in the thumbnail and I click
I couldn’t stop laughing at the sand one. I’ll turn you all into fish 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Btw, I love your profile photo; the character designs in CoS were so good! :D
The sand one is just PURE sibling chemistry, I can see my older sister as Edward and me as Al 🤣
2:24 THE WAY HE TURED CUTE THO LOL
this is the first fma i watched i think it was before netflix added brotherhood and its still my favorite version

I liked this one better than Brotherhood, but that's just me.
Brotherhood gets annoying
No one asked, jackass
Same! I watched this version way before brotherhood came out

Tbh, it's a pretty great series on it's own, but it's also just worth watching to see the characters more.
Which movie? The Sacred Star of Milos or the Conquerer of Shamballa
🙌🏾
3:08 😂 Ed’s freak out about a needle I’d understand the PTSD after having 2 automail limbs attached to ya
2:19 dog huh?
(Said while smiling) : I LOVE DOGS!
I'm so normal about them
Truth is about to get a surprising second visit about the fish thing XD
Third, Ed visited the gate twice before the fish (one for his mom and the other for Al)
2003 was way better at adapting the manga than brotherhood. The only issue is that it couldn’t go all the way through.

Brotherhood focused more on the story (that 2003 fucked up btw) and less on humor. Also the jokes in Brotherhood were in the manga.

2003's story is more interesting and mature than the original manga.
Does anyone know where I can watch the original FMA?
