Long story short, Ed and Al busted em, and Mugear betrayed and imprisoned them, planning to kill them. Mugear then tried to recruit Ed and Al to help him create the philosopher's stone (actually a false one, made from something called red water), to which Ed stated that before they work they must kill the impostors. Ed pretends to be murderous to freak Mugear out. hopefully that makes sense, I'm not the greatest at recapping/summarizing stuff, but I know all this like the back of my hand :P Edit: grammar
