I hope you guys enjoyed my amazing photoshop skills for the Deku Tree Cutscene Skip LOL
it was amazing
Amazing work!
@Splat a
wait that was photoshop and not real life recreation??
The fact that you're able to do all these crazy tricks while thoroughly explaining them at the same time is incredibly impressive
Yeah. Just being able to talk while playing without making mistakes is a good indication of how much practice he has.
You basically need to be able to autopilot through stuff to be able to talk while doing it.
Fr, i watched it and was shocked at how he got them usually first time while also explaining them
and here i am can't even do the duplicate glitch in tears of the kingdom XD
i can’t beleaf you did the entire earth temple without medli, like that’s genuinely insane. leaf it to speed runners to find the perfect combination of insane tricks to skip something
This category is the most interesting as you can grasp how deep the community broke down the game.
It's nice to see a wide variety of tricks and glitches
What category is this? All Dungeons or PST?
I'm always amazed how much Linkus knows about Zelda speedruns and glitches. I feel like I'm back in school, only the stuff I'm supposed to learn is actually interesting xD great video, I learned a lot - and am thoroughly entertained! Thanks for this rare combination!
OOT 100% SRM is insane too. According to a quick search on the leaderboard, there are only 19 people who've completed that speedrun in years. The top two are pretty close to a three hour time, but the rest have a pretty big gap between them (19th place being over five hours). I'm sure my fellow ZFG feet fetishists would agree that that speedrun is ridiculously difficult, not too take away from the difficulty of WW.
Yeah I was thinking oot hundo. Zfg is insane. God gamer
I am a fellow ZeldaFanGamer1 Enjoyer. (zfgMad NO CHEATING.)
That’s Clint Stevens, that’s quality.
I was thinking Max% Child because of Guay Hover and I think I remember ZFG saying it was that hardest run he's done, though I may be misremembering.
@@wompastompa3692 you’re actually right. He did say that.
Maybe the real tingle tuner were the friends we made along the way
why have friends if you have the tingle tuner?
ah, the Crystal Chronicles approach
Wow so original how did you come up with this comment?
@@sqweebel1 what do you mean?
@@sqweebel1 the unoriginality is the joke.
5:16(ish) - if you have Rough Collision Checks, then anything that 'roughly' resembles a Floor will act like one xD
I find it crazy how it was like the community created a separate game out of the game. They created the baby mechanics of super swimming and basic storage, which are then applied zelda style to get through a variety of puzzles to skip the normal means necessary, and then as you get farther into the run there are newer and harder variations of the mechanics and uses for them.
Wind waker break the world edition.
I just sat through a 40 minute zelda speedrunning video without feeling bored at all. Thank you linkus.
When he's super swimming Link has this serious look on his face, makes it look like he knows exactly what he's doing and where he's going
New drinking game. Every time Linkus says “get storage” you take a sip
Mind boggling how all of these glitches and skips are even figured out in the first place but to do them perfect back to back?! Next level stuff. Thanks Linkus, your commentaries are always very interesting and entertaining 🤝
The hilarious thing is i remember using both tingle bombs and feather to sequence break with my friend back in the day cause we couldn't be bothered to find treasure maps
Man, your ability to clearly explain the tricks while doing them is amazing. It’s clear to see why GDQ has featured you for so many events
“You thought that glitch was hard? Wait for the next one”
“Ohhh you thought that was difficult? This next one is even harder”
Legendary and extreme tricks one after another, and then the ultimate trick is to hit a 1-in-3. Truly a fearsome run.
I love that you can make these complex speedrun strats easy to understand, great video!
Love it when in Saturdays tons of good content like this pops Up in the notification feed
Saw gymnast’s run using this route the other day, so I really appreciate this video for all of the explanations of the new stuff!
Going to be honest I thought this was going to somewhat resemble the normal Windwaker Speed run but I see what you mean...the route has evolved substantially even from the last time when I watched this category a lot!
3:50 The way you say Stooridge is beautiful lmao
i usually don’t have the patience to finish wind waker speedrun videos, as i don’t run the game/just like the game for its original more intended gameplay, in this case, but MAN the way u were describing just enough to give us sort of a concept of how all this stuff works without losing us on the detail actually really hooked me this time, great video dude
Yeeting Makar literally made start laughing so much it hurt.
Haven’t really watched a ton of speedruns since one of your GDQ Windwaker runs that was using the death hover to the morth after the puppet Ganon fight. Holy cow the amount of changes to the speedrun are mind blowing.
You are truly amazing Linkus!
That’s because that run was any%. In all dungeons you pick up the hook shot that allows you to get up to the Ganon fight which you don’t in any percent
The elaborate live explanations make it 5 times more impressive.
You're so good at explaining what's happening even with more complicated tricks. And while performing them in real time. Hats off to you. Oh wait Link forgot his hat anyway.
Wow great video and really enjoyable!! I literally Pag Chomped when I looked down and saw the 40 minutes
The sheer knowledge you have of this game never ceases to amaze me Linkus
this is amazing how you described every trick and mechanic behind what you were doing.
The deku cutscene glitch demonstration was top tier my guy😂👌
I can't believe how he is explaining this shit while he does it. It really adds to my engagement with the run!
1:25: the super swim requires you to flick the analog stick 15 times per second, and this madman just jumps in the water and starts flicking, succeeds first try on the ss. That is insane.
Makar getting yeeted at the speed of light killed me
"People don't like the word rough, huh?" "Thats rough, buddy."
Man, Wind Waker's changed a lot in 9 years...
Imagine showing this to someone from almost a decade ago, right?
The ability to go anywhere via super swim would have you laughed off as a liar, and that’s a foundational technique today.
An even more powerful “lie” would be that in only the original can you barrier skip.
35:59
> Barges into the boss room
> "Oh hey there Link, nice of you to catch up"
> Refuses to elaborate further
> Leaves
Thank you for the flashing screen warning! Many people do not add warnings for flashing lights, and as a result, those of us with photosensitivity or epilepsy suffer as a result. In my case, I experience physical pain as a result of flashing screens.
So, again, thank you for the heads up!

Unit perfect:
If you're familiar with subpixels, it's like that, but even worse because units are higher precision.
In 2d games, the player's visible position on screen has to line up with pixels, but that's only necessary when drawing the sprite. Many 2d games actually divide pixels up into smaller measurements, because it allows more precise control over the player's speed/movement.
3d games do the same technique, except that since the polygons that make up a mesh - like your character, and the level geometry - aren't restricted to pixels on the screen, these coordinates are usually far more precise. Often player movement speeds multiply some base speed by a number to calculate player movement, making it extremely difficult to effectively position the player at precise coordinates.
Very often the only way to position the player at certain locations will involve setups like starting out from a specific corner, or walking against an angled wall, or a bizarre combination of actions which slightly modify your coordinates to try to position yourself more precisely than you could just walking around.
Good shit, homie. WW speedruns have been entertaining me for about a decade at this point. Makar launch is top tier.
This is like a GDQ speedrun with the live commentary. 🔥
Cosmowright WW speedruns were maximum comfy and hype back in the day
Wow the run has so many more zombie hovers than it did back when Narcissa used to run this game.
3:50 🙏 paying my respects to the dude asking for help with an exam in a livestream chat 😂
I heard that you are able to move to America soon, I am so happy and excited for you Linkus! I know it's something you have wanted for a long time. Congrats and good luck!
I used to run wind waker GameCube like 7 or 8 years ago gave it up because I had to go to school and life just got in the way. I can't imagine going back to it like I will never get this good. I should probably get back into running just not wind waker GameCube
Hey ik you won't read this but your videos help me a LOT when I'm sick (which is everyday since idk what illness I have, I'm too scared to see a doctor about it) but when I'm sick I watch your videos which help me focus on the video instead of feeling sick, not only that but you and another speedrunner I love both got me into speed running and hopefully soon I can start speed running my favourite games like Twilight Princess and Spyro a Heros Tail! Thank you for making content, it helps a lot in a funny way. ❤
I read this
Bro see a doctor
Legend of zelda speedruns are some of the most insane things i have seen out of the speedrun community
Linkus is a speedrun teacher
never saw a winf waker run before and I got to say its really impressive to watch all of the tricks. Would like to learn the run when I get the hardware to do it. Thanks for the informational run man gg
I love how the only human interaction made in that speed run was with links sister and that was for literal seconds
Every 5 minutes Linkus be like "But wait, there's more !"
What a great video man, so entertaining and informative. Time just flew by while watching
That was so impressive! Your knowledge of glitches is pretty incredible Linkus7! Great work!
2:09 I had to check, the only run I found (said former world record tho, and was about 1 month old at the time this was uploaded) got there in 7:50, so not faster then WR
Imagine seeing a kid you know jump into the ocean, turn around hundreds of times faster than you can see, and go super speed to another island, while swimming backwards
I wonder how many people are thinking “some of this stuff doesn’t look as hard as he says it is”
In Tingle's jail cell you can find a skull, and he's capable of bringing Link back from death. Tingle confirmed necromancer! Now we know why he was imprisoned!
Watched Linkus play this with gymnast86 at a GDQ a while back.
Crazy then, insane now.
Love it!
You are a wonderful host! Keep doing these
linkus: no medley needed
*medley crying in background*
Wind waker gc is definitely the most physically intensive Zelda lol. Also I remember when there was a frame perfect save and quit on great fish island after super swimming to it or you get soft locked, back in the day, that will probably be the hardest trick in a Zelda ever. There is something to be said about twilight princess gc being maybe as hard as tww when like half of the run if you fail a trick you have to reset but it’s a different kinda difficult. Also Zelda one any% may be the hardest to not die in. Level 9 following the any% route every room took me multiple tries using save states each room. I never did it all in one go, its such a good game.
Speedrunning and explaining at the same time, very cool :D
I only watch YT so I don't know how good Linkus is in WindWaker as a whole, let alone WindWaker SD but it's unreal how phenomenal the opening tricks are going
Link had to save Hyrule before dinner, or grandma would get upset. So he... Improvised...
Linkus you have a gift at explaining this shit its crazy
You‘re a very good and helpful Zeldagames-Teacher
Rough collision creates Spider-Link
36:37 Throwing makar here is too funny
I forgot how awesome this game was. It almost makes me want to play again. The tedious part was all the travelling on the boat.
26:30 ganondorf is sooooo confused here
29:45 sorry, I missed how you messed it up; can you mess it up agai- no? Oh that's ok.
I love how the tingle turner is the most useful items in the game PAGGING our boi!
0:56, bro i watched you speedrun wind waker, before hd even existed
Neat run & analysis video! Thanks for uploading!
bro i cant believe flight control platform glitch is actually useful LMAO that was my favorite thing to experiment with when i was younger
Can I play this on "Switch"? It's the one Zelda that I missed playing as a kid! I just recent started a new game of Majoras mask (N64 port) and just the nostalgia completely turned my bad day into a good one! You've just inspired me to try my first speed run after I finish this playthrough! Haven't played it in 20 years; so I really want to enjoy this one play through before I start grinding out speed runs! Thanks for the video, you've just birth a new member to the speed running community!
Not me rewatching the run although I already watched it live lol. JK, linkus' way of explaining is just always entertaining
Oh yeah, check my collision, Tingle! Check it _ROUGH!_
You’re a damn guru Linkus. Keep up the good work
This vid was amazing bro!!!
so the actual proper term for collision types is "fine" and "coarse" but whatever works, works
Those guys saying "hi RUclips" at the beginning of the run, hi guys
30:22 I was falling asleep and then that happened and scared me half to death-
I though the Skyward Sword Wii version run or the Skyward Sword low % was the hardest. Mainly because they're so complicated. Though I did see that recently they found the Gate of Time skip so I guess that might be easier now.
And now I wait eagerly for yet another Wind Waker category to make it into GDQ.
Sometimes near a loading zone in games i just pull random sequences of inputs in the hopes i might somehow discover the newest gamebreaking speedrun trick incredibly unlikely but i like playing souls games so if i get a little bored of dying to 1 boss I'll try it
This video only helps to re-enforce & solidify the FACT that the N64 era of Zelda games is the most important of all.
The Great Deku Tree and Tingle both coming from this era.
All Zelda related content before N64 was foundational. Starting with OOT the LOZ universe stepped into the next dimension and we still live in that era to this day.
Some year soon enough we can move into the next level, experiencing the LOZ as if we are link through 1 or 2 more major moves forward in VR
😄
Hyperbole
The part where you yeeted makar turned me into a fucking hyena 😂😂😂
If I was his gamecube controller I would be overcome with fear when he loads up windwaker
Speed run, and confirmed to be Banksy via the Chuskip art. Impressive.
I feel sorry for your hands who had to perform unbuffered super-swim, that looks intense
This is amazing linkus senpai
I mean, I’d personally say BOtW 100% is harder purely because of the patience and memory required, but this definitely takes the cake for being the most technically challenging.
Great video, awesome thumbnail 👌
Good job! Barrier skip is extremely inconsistent. When I tried to do it I got frustrated and rage-quit!
wow, this is so rad. thanks for the explainations.
Zombie Hover could be a killer band name
linkus: "you might think this seems normal"
me: what the fuck
Fun drinking game: drink everytime "storage" is said
